Well she is probably kind by nature...and it's her job to be nice to flyers... So unless the flight attendant threw her over her shoulder and carried her to the ambulance and threw her in she-Hulk style... Then she would definitely deserve a raise... I work with disabled adults, most are on disability, and get SNAP, and rent assistance. Those who haven't worked 40 or more quarters only get around $1,300 SSDI each month, about 40% of their income goes toward housing, and the amount they get in SNAP depends on what their income is countered by housing and medical expenses. The most they can receive is $250 per month, per person. They have to have family or a side hussle to eat like they do.

    Mushroom Steaks
    Ingredients
2 large Portabello mushroom caps (stems removed)
    1 1/2 Tablespoons balsamic vinegar
1 1/2 Tablespoons low sodium soy sauce or gluten free tamari
2 Tablespoons coconut oil or olive oil
1 Tablespoon vegan Worcestershire sauce or Vegan steak sauce
    1 teaspoon liquid smoke
    1 teaspoon smoked paprika
    1 large garlic clove, minced
    1/2 teaspoon onion powder
    Salt & pepper (to taste)
    Directions
Thoroughly dry brush the mushrooms. If necessary, a damp paper towel can be used to clean the mushrooms as well.
In a small baking pan whisk together all the marinade ingredients and placed the clean mushrooms inside. Spoon marinade over the mushrooms.
Cover and chill at least 30 minutes, making sure the marinade thoroughly coats the mushrooms.
Either grill or pan cook the mushrooms with the excess marinade. (Usually about 4 to 5 minutes per side.)
Serve warm with a side of vegetables. Makes 2 servings. (About 100 calories per serving.)

Nothing like being forced to diet/do a weight loss program as a small child to permanently mess up your relationship with food.
My mom started me on WW when I was 5. I hit 400lbs by the time I was 19, and now I’m down to 225 at 26, working out 5 days a week. I’m actually struggling with reverse dieting (I need to hit a sustainable calorie goal still in a healthy deficit) currently.

As an RN I've noticed that patients who rely on the scooters are not motivated to move around, even to do basic things. Also rather than going through the drive-thru to the restaurant when I occasionally frequent one with a drive-thru I always go in for the exercise. I also take the stairs rather than the elevator and park far away from the entrance to places rather than close it's good for you and it's good to move around plus I work part time. I remember I had a bad exacerbation and went to Walmart to do some Christmas shopping during my divorce almost 8 years ago. I was about to use one of the mobility scooters and a woman that weighed about 400 lbs started yelling at me telling me that I didn't need it because it was nothing wrong with me and she did. I absolutely refuse. I am an individual who has never had trouble walking. Unless I develop a neurological disease that affects my ability to walk, or am God forbid incapacitated by an accident, I am going to get around for the rest of my life on my own two feet, period. I like to do everything myself and I move fairly quickly around in general. I have no reason to rely on a scooter and I WILL find it in me to get around on my own two feet as long as it is possible.

So, your question about sewing is a fair one and one I am happy to enlighten you on. I make my own clothes as a hobby, and there’s a lot of standing and moving around involved. I swear on my life, at least 60% of my sewing time is just cutting the pattern pieces out of the fabric, sometimes cutting paper pattern pieces out if it’s a new pattern I’ve not used yet. You have to be able to stand and move around to do that. Pinning things together before sewing and doing stuff like marking darts I also do standing because I’m already standing up to cut the pattern pieces, so I might as well remain standing. The only sitting I do is when I’m actually sewing at my machine. Actually sewing, whether with one of my machines or by hand, is probably 20% of the actual time it takes to sew something. I don’t know if it’s different if you’re sewing for a living though, it might depend on the size of business you work at and what you’re doing exactly. Tailoring premade garments is a different skill set than creating things from scratch. Hope that helps! By the way, I love your channel and insights into these types of shows, and your sense of humor always makes me laugh!

I have to disagree about not owing anyone else an apology. She owes the EMTs an apology for potentially injuring one. She owes the passengers from the first flight an apology for their flight delay and missed connections. She owes an apology to the airline employees for the inordinate time and attention she demands. The drain on social services and Healthcare. I could go on and on.

Well, it depends. I had a neighborhood corner store close to where I lived. Whenever my parents would give me money for lunch, I would save it and just buy junk food at that corner store after school. My mom was tough on me about my weight and I was nowhere near as heavy as she was. At my heaviest, I was 150 pounds. My mom was very strict with me and what I ate. I would try to hide any type of junk food, I was so afraid to eat around her. I still feel that anxiety whenever we have family meals, like Thanksgiving, Christmas, or just wanting to get together. But I can at least enjoy a slice of cake now, especially since I have lost most of the weight still have a bit left to get rid of and it's been rather difficult.
      Edit:
All this is to say that her parents could have been strict but she could have been eating too much at friend's houses, another place I would eat junk food. If there' a will, there's a way.

    • @haleyrison68
      @haleyrison68 11 หลายเดือนก่อน +15

I think it's probably a combination of factors at play. It is a very unhealthy dynamic for a mother daughter relationship to be so focused on weight. I have a close friend who has struggled with eating disorders for many years, just the opposite extreme. The thing about eating disorders is that they're a bid to have control over something when you feel like you don't have any control or stability in your life. My late former husband was bulimic from a very young age bc of anxiety he experienced during his parents nasty divorce. Trauma is subjective, so its effects are not predictable. Something might seem small to one person but could be the worst thing to ever happen to someone else. That said, this woman really needs to get therapy and change her attitude and mindset if she's going to have any chance of success. I just wanted to point out that food addiction is a disorder just like any other eating disorder or substance abuse disorder. It takes a comprehensive approach to recovery. But it's still a medical condition.
