The saddest part about this whole thing is Seunghan was BULLIED out of his group on the 5 year anniversary of Sulli’s death, 5 years and not a thing has changed. I thank you for talking about this and thanks to whoever it was that brought it to your attention! RIIZE ot7 fans have been working tirelessly to make sure this whole situation isn’t just forgotten about and swept under the rug. Go watch any of Seunghan’s fancams and you can clearly see that this boy was born to be on stage, he trained for 7 years just to have everything ripped away so soon. I hope if it’s still in his heart to be an idol after all this mess that he doesn’t give up, I hope he sees the immense amount of support he has from global fans.
It's not even just OT7 people. Everyone is sick of this crap and this just broke the dam that's been building. Idols need to quit being bullied for having a life! They need to quit being harassed under unrealistic expectations. And they need to be protected from these weird ass stalkers that think they are property and not people. So glad you brought up Sulli (rip queen) Id also like to bring up someone who was also signed into SM entertainment and sadly also was lost to suicide in 2017. Jonghyun from SHINee was so well loved for over 10 years as the lead singer of one of their most popular groups. His mental health was ignored and buried so deeply by SM that he couldnt take it anymore. How they still getting away with treating people so terribly just so they come across publicly happy when they dont even allow them to have normal social lives is so fucked up. Still Shawol for life tho. 🩵
i’m super happy to see you talking about this situation with (mainly) Seunghan, and sm entertainment’s problems. poor seunghan never deserves this hate
With my years with liking kpop, this year is by far one of the worst i've seen. Knets and sometimes Inets have this bizzare fantasy that these REAL people belong to them, Seunghan was doing things that kids his age do. The funeral wreaths were some of the most vile and disgustings things ive ever seen. The fact he has recieved more hate than someone being convicted on multiple crimes is insane to me. People in this industy have to be so careful because one wrong move and its over. Why can't we let people live their lives while enjoying the beauty in the work they do.
1. Don’t give up on Seunghan. The members are doing all they can to bring him back-why aren’t we? This isn’t a suspension; it’s forcing him out. This is our last chance.
one of the girls dancing in front of the funeral wreaths has a boyfriend but wants to be a kpop idol, and one lady bullying him is in her 60s i believe... upset over a high school students relationship creepy
Yes RIP Sulli and also Goo Hara, her great friend. Both women driven to take their own lives due to online abuse and real life abuse. Our loss is heaven's gain. RIP beautiful angels. Gone but never forgotten 😭💔💔💔💔💔💔💔💔
As a kpop fan, people who believe they are actually dating such kpop idol are insane and need help. Me and my other friends that like kpop always joke around about how our biases are our husbands/wives and laugh abt it but we don’t actually believe we are married or dating them. Other than that I’m so happy you covered this subject.
as a kpop stan (but not a riize stan), i genuinely feel so bad for seunghan and im so glad that this situation is getting the coverage and attention that it deserves
THANK YOU for talking about this‼️ OT6 are currently reporting all projects in support of Seunghan & it blows my mind that they’re able to do that but the literal death wreaths they sent were just fine🙄
YAY new louis video, i’m super happy to see louis talking about the really toxic environment that’s in kpop! especially since this isn’t his usual topic area
Thank you for covering Seunghan, the situation is so unfair and it’s disturbing that SM Ent catered to these delusional, toxic and dangerous fans while RIIZE concept initially revolved in being relatable boys having banter wanting to chase their dreams carefree with their 7(!) best friends. That their best friend got bullied out of the group in such a terrible way for something so trivial (predebut even). I feel like we don’t talk about how terrible this is and I hope justice will prevail soon
Stuff like this is literally insane. People forget that kopo idols are ACTUALLY HUMAN. Fans idolise idols to such an extent that its really just scary. The bullying, hate and everything else in insane! The idols are literally shamed just for having a life. It genuinely makes me so sad to see shit like this. Like how can you not consider the other party's feelings???
Thanks for speaking about this in such a respectful manner. I think another frustrating part is that his record company, SM, is supposed to be his one wall of defense and instead of supporting him and doing their best to negate the backlash and cyber bullying, they kind of just threw him under the bus. This is a systemic issue but if the companies can’t even stand up against this pressure where does that leave the artists?
It's worth noting that SM Entertainment is the same company who kicked out a member of a group yet still retains their individual contract with him even after he was charged with SA (gang grape to be exact). His name is Taeli from the group NCT and he didn't even get as much backlash (that he should have) meanwhile Seunghan is getting funeral wreaths and death threats. The hypocrisy is real. And South Korea wonders why their birth rates are declining when their priorities are clearly effed up and they do not take the real issues (such as the safety of women) seriously.
Yall are seriously so slow. They can’t kick Taeil out yet because he hasn’t been found guilty yet so they would have to pay for repercussions if they kicked him out and he didn’t actually do anything, so they’re waiting for it to be done so they can make a decision. And seunghan wasn’t kicked out her left on his own, yall keep trying to make sm the villain when they’re not, Karina was literally found out to be dating, this isn’t uncommon for sm, and she’s still in the group, seunghan was new however and he didn’t feel he knew how to handle the situation after so they gave him the option to leave or stay and he very obviously wasn’t handling it well, that’s not his or sm fault but the crazy fans who did that to him
If anyone else wants to help, there is a petiton about Seunghan and just spreading the word about this situation would help a lot. This isnt only for Seunghan but the whole kpop industry. If we can win him back, we can really show that us real fans can win over these psychotic freaks called fans.

Thank you for covering this 😭 I’m so glad that people outside of kpop are covering Seunghan’s story because it’s messed up how a company who was trying to appeal to global fans wouldn’t even listen to them when they expressed how relieved they were when Seunghan was brought back, and instead listened to the loud *minority* of korean fans who didn’t want him back. One thing that you forgot was that as a result of people sending funeral wreaths to have Seunghan removed from riize, people also decided to send Suga from bts funeral wreaths to also have him removed from bts because of his scandal (all he did was drive a scooter after drinking)
I’m a K-pop fan myself, a pretty big one in fact, and I ABSOLUTELY AGREE that the K-pop industry NEEDS to be better. They are horribly treated by “fans” and haters online and in real life, and mistreated by their OWN COMPANYS.
It’s insane that specifically, it’s the Korean fans that have been harassing that poor idol. Most western kpop fans disagree and hate what’s happening, which is also causing some discourse. Western fans and the Korean fans have such a different view on it that I’ve seen some Korean fans say that Western fans are being crazy and that western fans aren’t even the main audience buying the idols merchandise so the companies should listen to the Korean fans. Which sadly is what happened, the company announced the idols return but then so many Korean fans hated it that the company ended up making him leave the group. Which caused in uproar for the western kpop fans bc that’s such a dumb reason to kick out someone from a group. It’s crazy, like let the man live.
OMG THANK YOU SO MUCH! I WAS HOPING YOU WOULD SAY SOMETHING BECAUSE WHAT HIS COMPANY SM IS DOING IS DIABOLICAL! BRING BACK MY BIAS IN RIIZE! BRING BACK THE SEUNGHAN -AHHHH!!!!
K-pop is extremely toxic despite having really good songs. In (G)I-DLE, for example, people often make fun of Yuqi for having a "deep voice" when it doesn't even matter and she sounds fine
This is one of the many reasons I completely stopped listening to kpop all together. The insane beauty standards, colorism/racism, any autonomy being signed away in contracts, every idol most likely having to undergo plastic surgery and eating disorders, predatory training/grooming companies, being overworked and underpaid, a horrible fanbase that is absolutely disgusting. I am so disgusted by the kpop industry and fanbase that holds up this system. I know it's not the majority of fans, but it was enough for me to never want to support these companies.
The first thing that came up to mind when you said the last part, that they're human and shouldn't be sexualized, is the fact there is a multitud of fanfics about members of K-pop bands all around the internet where they are put in s*xual positions in those fics with the reader(s). I have never read a single one of them, but sometimes I can see them when I scroll for something to read. It has always felt a little icky to me, but I have always brushed it aside because everyone always sort or treated it as normal. But after seeing this, I can now rest assured knowing that I was right. That IS icky, and creepy. They are real, human beings. With luck they will never encounter those fics where they are made to have a different body type, height, intimate parts, or whatever the hell the author feels like changing. But nothing will change the fact that they ARE aware of what people think of them and what they do with their person, and that is frankly disgusting. And the fact that these people don't see anything wrong with it is honestly concerning. And that is not counting all the stress and dehumanization these companies put them through. Overall, I don't care they're rich, I feel bad for them.
Your intros are always top notch! Im not a big K-pop person but i'm interested in how intensely parasocial fans and netizens can be, and how horrific the industry is to its workers.
I don't think you can imagine how much I appreciate that you're making this video! And spreading awareness about what is happening in this industry is so so important, towards women, towards innocent people. It's really gross. I don't think this phrasing does Justice to what I'm thinking about this video, but it makes me really happy you decided to give your platform to this topic. Likeee All the funeral banners they sent to seunghan? Completely batsh!t insane
8:33 i kinda know what your saying, there’s a similar story about BTS’s Jungkook admitted that he had a crush on very popular soloist IU when he was younger (and maybe then idk) she then received online @buse and hate for being pretty and talented ?!
im so glad this situation is getting WAY more attention, i feel so bad for seunghan omg.. in general right now the kpop community is in shambles, seunghan left his group TWO DAYS after he returned due to the hate; not even a full weekend yet -and after august with all of the insane cases i cannot trust ANY male k-idol
As a kpop stan there are definitally alot more situations similar to this one. The omega x and burning sun scandals are also worth covering and bringing awareness to those situations. RIIZE IS 7 ALWAYS
i always wished more eyes were on omega x when the situation with spire was so crazy. that might've set a better precedent for the current industry, if there were mainstream coverage and pressure.
Watching this while playing elden ring and waiting for my painkillers to kick in recovering from a real bad head injury got 6 stitches and a concussion even when you are talking about serious topics you are still one of my favorite comfort TH-camrs
Never did I ever think Louis would cover seunghan, but I'm so happy he did! Thank you so much for covering this it's horrid that this keeps happening especially to such a young kid
Idk much about the KPop industry and I'm not well versed in the culture surrounding it, but this reminded me a lot about a video that Let's Read! made. I'm not sure if this intersects with the knowledge that I have surrounding the post in that video, but I have reason to believe that these might be known as "sasaeng fans". The video way back when had even more disturbing instances than what was included in your covering of this, Louis. I think that this parasocial obsession goes far deeper than cyberbullying and sending funeral flowers/food, unfortunately.
i have been a fan off this guy for some time now and i am happy he touched the the riize situation i think people should learn more abt this side off kpop personally i am a fan off 3 kpop groups
Thank you for talking about this situation, what happened just isn’t fair. I’ve been a fan of riize even before riize was riize, I’ve supported them when they were supposed to be Nct Japan. I fought for him before his hiatus and fought with ot6 fans for ten months waiting for his return, it came but just 2 days after he left again. What these so called “fans” did is so disgusting they practically told him to die with sending those funeral flowers. I’m so happy that his story is getting more traction I just hope this will change the way fans treat their idols for the better.
0:53 I feel so bad for seunghan. He just had a girlfriend when he was a teenager. I’ve been a fan of riize for a couple months now and was genuinely happy at his return and so were his fellow members. The thing is this loud minority knows how to speak the company’s language which is money. SM is already in financial trouble, and so boycotting, not engaging in sm content not streaming their songs on official sm platforms, WILL do ALOT. Sm showed us that it doesn’t care about their artist and the international fans. They care about our money and the freaks that are in a parasocial relationship. Thank you SO MUCH, for covering this case, this needs more platform especially platform from non-K-pop fans!
You bring new topics I didn't even know existed to my page. Listening to you is the perfect background noise whyll playing games (currently on horizon 2)
I’m I’m do happy seeing people talk about this Seunghan deserves so much better it’s sad how fucked up the Korean society is hopefully he can get justice
I'm glad you mentioned a lot of incidents and topics instead of not mentioning them because you're not (as you phrased it) educated enough on them I think that's really great and spreading awareness about all of that might let people get more into the topics of for example the burning sun scandal and taeil from nct or Moonbin and Sully and all of these things which are just insanely horrible I am really thankful that you made this video
as a multi-stan among the kpop industry, i was so mad when he got kicked out !! i feel like he got more hate than stinky taeil . . . these rats need to get a life. i wish seunghan were to be brought back, and if he doesn't want to, it's his choice, i will stan him either way.
So glad you're talking about this. A couple of groups are my special interest, neither in the companies mentioned - but when you're a BG stan, you learn a lot about drama. I hope Seunghan can get past this, and if he decides he still wants to be in music, that he goes solo and does AMAZING things and has a lot of fans like he deserves.
I have always felt bad for anyone in any kpop groups. I was into kpop for around 4 years. I have grown out of it but every so often I listen to it again. I have always hated the whole situation with how kpop idols are treated so I am glad you talked about it even though you didn’t have to. Also I like how you mention the people who draw, clean, whatever. I usually chrochet when watching TH-cam.

-and after august with all of the insane cases i cannot trust ANY male k-idol
8:07 don’t do this to me, Louis. I can’t beat the pants sh*ttin’ allegations.
Thank you so much for covering this story!!😭
THANK YOU FOR SPEAKING UP ABOUT SEUNGHAN🥺
Im so happy more people are talking abt this!(especially non kpop fans). It angers me that seunghan got his life ruined by people he didn't even know.
AS KPOP STAN I'M SO READY FOR THIS
SAMEEE
Thank you so much this will help us so much to bring this boy justice
Thank you for talking about this!!! Seunghan and RII7E deserve so much better!
Thank you Louis! It is very important to talk about Seunghan's story❤
Thank you so much for covering this topic. It means the world to us!
THANK YOU!!!!
YES OMG THANK YOUUUU. i’ve been a kpop listener since 2013 and i was WAITINGGGG for you to make a video on thid
thanj u for amplifying this, trust that kpop stans do NOT support whats happening rn. justice for seunghan and rii7e
Finally, someone is covering the situation!!! Thank you :)
THANK YOU FOR TALKING ABOUT THIS !!!!
I wish people in kpop groups could still lead normal lives like the rest of us and not be attacked with death threats 😬
One thing that ppl haven't mentioned is that it's not even international kpop fans doing this but Korean Kpop fans 😭
you explained the situation very well, thank you so much
0:53 I feel so bad for seunghan. Thank you SO MUCH, for covering this case, this needs more platform especially platform from non-K-pop fans!
riize is 7 !! theres a petition for his return that has over 300 thousand signatures already
I GOT MY MEMBERSHIP AGAIN KING LOUIS 🎉🎉🎉 HE HAS RISEN AND I AM EXCITED FOR THIS VIDEO
thank you so much for covering this and reaching a wider audience!! people need to be more aware of how much idols are mistreated !!
thank u for covering it!! i hope we’ll change the situation soon7️⃣🧡
Genuinely thank you so much !!
thank you so much for talking about this!! more people need to know about the toxic kpop culture

OMG TY FOR THIS !!!! we need the word spread !!
Omggg THANK YOUU LOUIS
You bring new topics I didn't even know existed to my page. Listening to you is the perfect background noise whyll playing games (currently on horizon 2)
OMG SEUNGHAN
he deserves the world, he does not deserve what happened to him
I’m I’m do happy seeing people talk about this Seunghan deserves so much better it’s sad how fucked up the Korean society is hopefully he can get justice
THANK YOU FOR COVERING THIS! WE LOVE OUR SEUNGHAN AND RIIZE VERY DEARLY! RIIZE IS 7! 🧡
I'm glad you mentioned a lot of incidents and topics instead of not mentioning them because you're not (as you phrased it) educated enough on them
I think that's really great and spreading awareness about all of that might let people get more into the topics of for example the burning sun scandal and taeil from nct or Moonbin and Sully and all of these things which are just insanely horrible
I am really thankful that you made this video
Thank you so much for covering this, it needs to be heard
Thank you so much for talking about this! Us international (and some Korean) fans are trying so hard to spread this message. This means so much❤
I did never think that he would talk about that but im so thankfull
as a multi-stan among the kpop industry, i was so mad when he got kicked out !! i feel like he got more hate than stinky taeil . . . these rats need to get a life. i wish seunghan were to be brought back, and if he doesn't want to, it's his choice, i will stan him either way.
I’m so glad your covering this
So glad you're talking about this. A couple of groups are my special interest, neither in the companies mentioned - but when you're a BG stan, you learn a lot about drama. I hope Seunghan can get past this, and if he decides he still wants to be in music, that he goes solo and does AMAZING things and has a lot of fans like he deserves.
Justice for seunghan, Thank you for covering this
I have always felt bad for anyone in any kpop groups.
THANK YOU FOR COVERING THIS OMG.
Random but Omds i love your pfp
@@drawingprincessrealTYYYY!! I LOVE URS TOO!! :D
