I first noticed this about 25 years ago... a number of the sound effects were stolen from other movies, most notably the Wilhelm Scream.. The blasters sound effects however were completely original. My channel has a video on how Ben Burtt created it which I made after watching an interview he did.

a shofar. hollowed out ram's horn. Very big use during Jewish New Year
