It's strange that you can say "shoot to kill the Boer" it free speech and freedom of expression but "shoot to kill the Blacks." especially in response to the 'shoot to kill the boer' song, it's becomes racism, I'm closely watching how the court will rule on this.

After Renaldo said what he did, the next sentence in the unedited video is I didn't mean that, but how did it make you feel? That's how I feel as a white man when I hear people like Zuma and Malema singing Kill the Boer. That's the discussion that nobody wants to have.

    • @habakkuk2four

@@wandibanda1590 What he said was that when he hears people like Zuma and Malema singing Kill the Boer it makes him feel as he would imagine Black people would feel after hearing him say what he said. But that's the problem, not all members of one group all feel the same way about things. I could care less, and I think most Black South Africans could also care less less about what some silly little white boy said on TH-cam 16 years ago. This is just about attacking the DA.

@@habakkuk2four its the manner that he approached it, he took too many liberty's using the K and N word. He could have made a point by saying black people instead of repeatedly using the K and N word.
Also remember julius was taken to court on a few occasions with mixed findings each time.
I understand white peoples outrage when the song is sung especially after loaded speeches it doesn't go down well, but this has been addressed a few times lawfully and it will continue to happen as long as there is law and order in the country...
As for "it happened 16 years ago" no racism is racism and needs to be dealt with decisively no matter the time frame. We hold other politicians accountable for much longer time frames than 16 years.
And yes there are black politicians in our country that have pushed racist commentary too and they should be dealt with equally.
We have to move past racism or else we'll decay to point of physical violence which is terrible.
Black, white, Indian or coloured, we are all brothers and sisters in our rainbow nation. We have to take responsibility and start cleaning up our own mess.

Renaldo Gouws said Vicky momberg was wrong and fairly convicted. He then went onto criticizing Julius malema saying his kill the boer song was hurtful and then he said that if he said this and made a comparitive slur using the K word and said see it would hurt others, which is what he did in a comparative drama. I don't like Gouw's ideas, but making an unsavoury comparison is not hate speech. Just because some people are too foolish to comprehend the intent does not mean one has to join their dullness of comprehension of intent.

Renaldo served his purpose very well for the DA. The DA knew he was a racist, when they propped him up, and he rose in the ranks of the DA. Renaldo, with his racist social media videos, energised a very big segment, of racist white voters, voters, whom the DA lost to the VF+ in 2019. People like Renaldo in the DA, have brought these voters back to the DA, in the 2024 elections. Renaldo did good for the DA. Strategically, having Renaldo do, what he did, was very good for the DA, and gaining back votes, they lost in 2019. The consequences for Renaldo, on a personal level, will be very minimal, if any. Renaldo will not go hungry, lose work, or his platform (in fact, his platform will just get bigger), because, structural racism, always benefits the racist. As an example, just look at Dr. Death (Wouter Basson), living his best life in Cape Town, giving talks, supported by the DA-run Western Cape Government

Did this Terry Lady listen to the full video clip, or just to the piece which was selectively applied. So strange that she does not regard the EFF and Andile of BFLF comments as racist.

While I think RG is a bit of a doos and there is a far bigger lexicon of words one can use to bring across an opinion or an idea, he should probably be looked at about his lack of sensitivity... However, some of what this woman says is also a bullshit double standard.
Struggle songs for example. You cannot honestly say there is a struggle anymore... So why keep singing the songs? It's CLEARLY inflammatory towards minority groups in the country and does nothing to enhance race relations and social cohesiveness.
By that logic... The old flag shouldn't be a problem. Another social hot potato.
It just seems that anything coming from the previously disadvantaged is okay to get away with, but the minority groups must have everything about them effectively erased or reset like it never existed yet get brow-beaten with it at every opportunity and made to be guilted in perpetuity despite many never having been or no longer are subscribed to or aligned with any of the "old South Africa".
    The hypocricy is astounding.
