True. That said, have folks watched the entire clip? And understand that Gouws was trying to draw comparisons between the use of songs and words? He wasn't actually calling anyone anything. He was simply making a point.

I struggled finding out what this k-word was all about until I googled it. 😂😂 I have listened to modern Afrikaner people using this word several times here in Botswana post apartheid era. The word is often used when they are agitated, in a heated debate, when they lose their cool and running out of explanations. Afrikaner people never want to lose a debate against a black person no matter how silly their point of view is.
Naledi asks a very specific question that says "Can you actively say that the feelings of black people when they hear the K word do not matter because of the context of the conversation in which it was used. His response is so callously casual and he says "Everyone's feelings matter". This reminds me of the way in which racist white people in America started the trend of saying "all lives matter" in response to the slogan "black lives matter". This is the disgusting attitude that all racists have whenever an issue is raised pertaining to an attack on black people. The fact that this guy works for the IRR is actually very telling of what the IRR stands for. The fact that malema cant go without ONE rally without attacking white people with that songs shows you that malema is a racist fool and he means nothing
All people supporting this TV presenter who thought that the K word was so bad to use, is not considering this video clip was made 16 years ago when it was not outlawed yet. At that point, you could only be taken to task in a civil matter if it was used against someone in a pointed and harmful way, which he clearly did not. But you cannot convince haters, and I am talking about blacks hating whites. Ironically, exactly what Renaldo was pointing out. This presenter gets so fired up as if Renaldo said this yesterday and as if he asked for the killing of blacks. The hate becomes so apparent that it explains exactly what Renaldo's point was. As a white person, I get just as upset by Malema. That was the point. He pointed out how blacks can say this, but whites can't. Renaldo was simply using a shock tactic to draw attention to Malemas's statements and asking all people to do some introspection. It is time to stop the hatred including that of people like this presenter. Renaldo Gouws is not a hater, but she clearly is. Get it?

In my faith we believe that that the forgiveness is more for the person hurting to expell the negativity that impacts their identity, than the perpetrator themselves. On a more philosophical note, dialogue continues to happen whether the victims participate or not as new history is perpetually written... For this reason it is more important to include those victims' voices in dialogue to teach the future generations how to talk, much of what I hope for from future politicians.
How is this guy working at the Institute of Race Relations with such an embarrasingly poor understanding of race in South Africa? Disgusting.

Context? In what context is what Renaldo said justified? Fine, Malema has been charged many times for that song, so Renaldo should be punished as well right? And why are we deflecting? Playing the "what about" game? We need to have honest conversations about race and who it really effects and has effected on a larger scale.

@@helenduplessis4166who are the K word and n word he was referring to exactly than?
It was a comparison of how hurtful and destructive words are that Malema said and if in the same token the k word and n word was said it would also be very destructive and hurtful. Both should be illegal. It was a comparative It was not directed at anybody specifically It was an emotional rant that tried to show how equally hurtful it is. But racist words of violence with intent toward boers is legally fine but the other way around not.
@@samanthaholm9634 a racist emotional rant,we can agree on that. K word and N word in whatever context is racist,as both words come from a vile historical context and for Renaldo to feel privileged enough to willy nilly use those words is disgusting.

Goes to show that what an institution stands for is not really found on its mission and vision statement, but it is found in the people who represent it.

Get it?
