Detached air cells are more common in fertile hatching eggs than you might think, especially with eggs sent through the post.
Candling chicken eggs when they're part way through incubation will identify the eggs with a detached air cell. I show you what to look for, what a detached air cell looks like from the inside and the outside of the egg, and what you should do about it.
Can an egg with a detached air cell hatch? Sometimes. Find out more in the video.

I have ordered duck eggs in the post and most have saddle air sacs with a 'bubble' or as you mentioned are 'floating' - the air sac does not move though - is there anything I can do? Thank you for your video!

      Hi Rachela,
I would incubate them anyway. Some will hatch. It partly depends on how bad the "saddle" is. Don't incubate straight away - keep them completely still for a couple of days before incubation. It may or may not help - it certainly can't do any harm.
