Shark Valley is great. I cycled all loop last time when I was there. Usually there are lots of alligators but in some reason they named it Shark Valley. I would have named it Alligators Valley. I didn't see anybody at the tower but saw the tram coming on a way back, so I guess I was there at the right time. Great video and looking forward to the next one. If you're interested check out my experience as well. Have fun in your next adventure. Thanks 🙂
Thats cool that you got out there, and what luck you had getting the tower all to yourself! I might need to call in to the visitors center to see where the name comes from because I'm curious about the "shark" too. We will definitely check out your video.! Have a great weekend and stay safe out there! 😃🤙
I have been there dozens of times. The best experience is to visit the observation tower by bicycle and come back the same way you came. The second 7-mile (eastside) stretch is very boring and you should skip it. Also, the manmade canal on the westside of the loop is filled with water year-round. That's why Shark Valley is so unique. It serves as an oasis for Everglades wildlife during the dry season.
Thank you so much! I check back on my footage and it looks like we started our ride just before 10am. Is there not as much gator action in the warmer months?
Some people do park outside the gate at night by the full moon and bike it. But if there is no moon and it's pitch black outside, it can be very scary. At night, you hear alligators splashing and moving around you but you can't see them.
@@LiveThatAdventure well when you grow up in a certain environment you really don’t think about it. To you that is normal while everything else takes some getting used to and Vice versa

Awesome video. I have never visited shark valley in December. What time did you begin your bike ride towards the observation tower?

@@LiveThatAdventure There is gator action in the warmer months, just have to go when they open in my experiences. Thanks for the reply. Stay safe.
Looks like a great place to see wildlife. Do you know if I can ride my own bike or if a rental is required?
It is a really cool spot. You definitely can bring your own bikes. We used the rental because we couldn't fly with our bikes 😁
What'
s the difference between an alligator and a crocodile? -- One will see you later and the other will see you in a while :)
(rimshot) 🤣🤣🤣🤣 good one! 👍
Do you have to use the rental bikes or can you ride your own there?
Hey, you definitely can bring your own there.
Can you ride an electric scooter or only bikes?
That's a great question. I kind of doubt that they would let an e scooter on the trail, but your best bet would be to call the visitor center.
You think they’ll allow me to take my e-board to that bike trail? 😅😅
Unfortunately, I don't think you can take any kind of boards here. You can take your e-bike though.
Anyone know what its like at night??
The park technically closes at 5 but there wasn't a gate to keep you out. That would be kinda creepy! 🤣🐊

@@sinbadsailor1963 that is intense! 🐊🐊
Naples is my hometown I was born and raised a swamp man.
I bet you don't even have a second thought when you see gators 🤣🐊🐊🐊
@@LiveThatAdventure nope lol they are just like a dog or cat to me just the reptile variant
@@8.4V10 that's wild! We have gotten used to them with all of our Florida trips, but it was really crazy to us at first!

Can you bring ur own bicycle?
Yes you can
The rental bikes aren't the most comfortable or in the best condition. It‘s actually a much better experience if you bring your own bike.
Can you bring a child with you? 6 yr old
The website says that they have a 20 inch children's bike (not sure if it would fit). If not you can always take the tram tour 😎👍
