I noticed the injuries factor was not discussed to any extent. Pompey have in recent seasons been very unlucky with key player injuries, but this season has been horendous, especially when playing in a higher league. Makes it difficult to replace loss of form in any position.
No sorry mate, I'm a Pompey fan but that's absolute waffle. We can't be using "tough teams" as an excuse anymore, we've played half the league and half of them are relegation level teams. We need completely new tactics asap, we can't wait for the transfer window
@Bigmjhgv exactly, we can't say that we've had tough games anymore. When we started the beginning of the season and we had the top 7 teams it was fair enough, but not anymore
Mate, JM needs to be credited for tonight's match. He also needs to be given the entire season to prove himself. If we go down, he is 100% the man to get us promoted again. The trolls who don't watch a live match should not be entertained, Pompey played brilliantly today. If we go down, it's not his fault, it's our player budget to blame. But we can bounce back with him. Please don't question his ability, it's probably the most competitive league in the world and we didn't have enough quality players to compete. Not JM's fault. We need him if we go down!
Hi lads been following tom for âges às à pompey fan been à pompey fan since 1989 tom talks alot of sensé i do believe we will stay up but i do believe that we are missing quality in our squad need a left back and center back and we will be alright pup onwards and upwards keep the faith
I said last night at Plymouth, if we do not win tonight then I can’t see any hope in staying up. For me the worst part is, we’re giving 100% but it’s not even close to being enough.
We beat Preston and Marlon Pack has been moved into defence because he’s too slow to play in the midfield. New midfield Potts and Dozzell are going well, Colby Bishop is back so things are improving currently
We've got a worse squad than we had last season in League One and it shows. The summer recruitment was truly awful and gave us a mountain to climb. We are a Championship team with barely any Championship players in it and that is why we are bottom of the table. We signed a 19-year-old striker who had never scored a goal in his career and a 25-year-old striker who played for Newcastle, Carlisle and Blackpool and also never scored a goal. He scored a load in the Danish second division last season, which is obviously his level and then someone at this club decided this guy is suddenly a Championship striker. We basically lost our top scorer from last season to injury and attempted to replace him with two strikers with no proven goal-scoring ability at this level at all. We really have absolutely nothing up front beyond Yengi and Sadie who is by no means a regular goal scorer either. Our central midfield is weak and one of our most consistent starters is a kid who was playing for Wycombe last season. Marlon Pack just looks completely off the pace, which is hardly surprising given his age and the fact that we are spending most of the game out of possession. Defensively we are shocking. Oglevie is getting skinned every game. Any opposition manager worth his salt will be targeting that very obvious weakness. Some of these players must be exhausted spending so much time without the ball and chasing shadows and their confidence is also ebbing away. We are just so incredibly inconsistent, making basic mistakes and constantly having to bounce back from terrible performances, which seems so much worse when you are used to winning every week as some of these players were last season. If Mousinho keeps us up it will be a greater achievement that winning League one last season, but I do still think he can do it. January is massive for us. I just hope the owners learn from the mistakes of the summer and bring in some players who can play at this level.
We have a much stronger squad than last year 😂 but the squad is nowhere near good enough. My biggest issue is, the Eisners have spent a lot of money but the people in charge of recruitment have got a lot of signings wrong.
Sums it all up really! Let's just hope we can salvage the season with some quality signings in January but they will probably be freebies or loans of players that can't get in their own team. PUP
What do Pompey fans make of Jordan Williams? He got forced out of position into a back three due to Barnsley’s lack of depth last season and was pretty suspect at times. Thoughts?
The answer is obvious. JM is a very good manager, but anyone who loses his 20 goal scorer for 6 months and is integrating new players into the team in a much tougher league, and has had the toughest starting fixture list, is going to struggle.
I noticed the injuries factor was not discussed to any extent. Pompey have in recent seasons been very unlucky with key player injuries, but this season has been horendous, especially when playing in a higher league. Makes it difficult to replace loss of form in any position.
@Fournilwrittenalloverit Hey Tom !! Keep the faith and safe trip to Plymouth. PUP💙
That little lad is a brilliant personality and really knows his stuff!
Little lad 🤣 that's fournilwrittenalloverit
We willl stay up colby is back top 15 easy
Feel sorry for Tom and his fellow Pompey fans. Tom is a legend, enjoyed meeting him at the Riverside earlier this season 👊
The stats don’t lie, the performances & lack of goals don’t lie - we (Pompey) are being relegated.
No we aren’t
We had a real tough start, playing the bigger teams, I still have faith

You’ve played Plymouth Wednesday Cardiff qpr Oxford and Stoke how on earth is that tough

The standard of the opposition are so much better. Any of the three teams that got promoted stay up wood have had a good season
With pompey defence especially fullbacks its going to be very very tuff season.
Spot on, our fullbacks are nowhere near good enough for this level
Pompey’s downfall is Wardy’s favourite topic of discussion 🤣
Love it when pompey come down home park, even if we play terrible it’s 3 points💚

This Pompey team is weaker then last year. It wouldn’t get out of league 1. Poor recruitment & no money invested. The board has let John M down.
My opinion is 4 4 2 would help our team
What’s gone wrong. Thinking they were the new Ipswich. That’s what’s wrong💚😂💚⚽️😂⚽️💚
Jack wards smerk at the start is killing me please Pompey ease up my blood pressure is through the roof
Its a hard division a lot good sides
NEVER GIVE UP LADS!! P.U.P!!! 😊

Couldn't agree more

Following a team is awesome or painful
JM - out of his depth as a player and a manager in championship. Ah well, only 4 more years 🤣
Don`t panic, we will be fine, all we have to do is escape relegation.
That little lad is crying out for a trim 🤣
I'll tell you what's wrong we don't have a Championship team , in fact we have a very mediocre Division one team now .
We have a much better side than last year, just nowhere near good enough at this level.
Saints are staying up and the skates are going down, skates are going down, skates are going down 😂😂😂🔴⚪️🔴⚪️
Do you reckon? Southampton aren’t looking too hot themselves…
