I work in Portsmouth and i admit its getting worse but securing your bike with 2 high quality locks and having a alarm/tracker you have nothing to worry about.
@@pompeybites I cannot agree with that. Portsmouth/Southsea was pretty damned good in the 90's and up into the early 00's with its nightlife, clubs, pubs, music & social scene. It had got rid of its MAJOR problem high-rise housing at Leigh Park & Paulsgrove, bearing in mind, when the idiot planners put the Leigh Park high-rise estate together, they extended the Portsmouth boundaries & it was the most populated council housing estate of anywhere in Europe with a crime rate to match and you never had all these free loading immigrants as you do now. There was also Somers Town high-rise flats along with Wilmcote House, that both used to all be pretty notorious places in the 70' & early 80's, now it seems as though the powers that be, want that to return.
But hey ho, if idiots are going to leave 'goodies' lying around for these little neds, basically unguarded, then they're going to relieve you of these items. The amount of times I see a bike, valued upwards of a grand with a cheap crappy poxy little lock on it, no longer astounds me. People will spend 1, 2, 3, 4 grand+ on a bike then only spend £15 - £20 on a lock then cry when it grows legs and walks off, what do they expect?
Just a heads up, the Hiplocks that are angle grinder proof is the Hiplock D1000, not the DX, just wanted to clear that up for anyone watching and yourself. Never seen your channel, just popped up but as per youtube videos it takes about 7 or 8 discs to go through the D1000, aka enough to stop someone in the street, there is a really good channel that just tests these locks, i was shocked how easy they grind through ones that look solid, i mean like 20 seconds or less or snap like ones you think would be really good re Kyrptonight/abus etc. But the D1000 is very good but are around £225 ish from memory when i got mine. I know as my bike got stolen year anbd half ago, and did a lot of research after that. Also more worrying is these huge bike stands that look really study sank into the ground to lock them, and like 2 inche diameter steel bar's. sat in concreate, and put in place by the councils, remember seeing on youtube video, guy using some type of plumber pipe cutter and as they are hollow just cut through it. Brazen broad daylight member of public filming, 2 slices and they just knock that section out. Then they just walk off with the bike still locked (or use vans) and i guess then grind where they can do off the streets. So it seems like if they want your bike they will get it, and the issue is I really think the resources are not being put in to fight it, there needs to be ALOT harder sentences, and no early release and alot more police resources/funding to tackle this problem. Personally would like to see 5 year sentences minimum as it feels out of control and well with people taking bikes in broad daylight in busy area's (mine was outside a supermarket 5pm, and I was only in for 5mins, on CCTV, they don't care). I use a multitude of locks now, including a heavy duty alarm padlock through the crank, one on the discs, then a Hiplock. Its so frustrating it never use to be like this, it's gone insane. But i work on the premise if you can just add as many layers as possible, esp ones that make a noise also. Last point re grinder proof, check out the ground anchors also from Hiplock to secure it too. My solution in the end is to have my bike in the house and well my German Shepard would take it very personal someone trying to break into his house lol, but yea a sad reflection of the times as i know friends that are keeping their bikes inside now also. Also a couple of trackers, one easy to find, the other not so easy and likely to be missed. If you just use cheap tags, then look how to disable the speaker, again youtube video on that also. Lastly keep safe re just a cap and no helmet, its crazy not to ware one these day's on the roads esp some of the drivers out there, and well even good drivers can have a momentary lapse in their judgement.

This is it with any expensive bikes. You’ve got to think of layers of security - several locks (gold and above), register it with bike register, insure it (commercial one for delivery riders). Even then it could still get nicked but at least there’s a chance it gets recovered (as long as it’s not been shipped abroad) and it can be replaced if not by the insurance.

Two people called Kealey live at Ducksworth house so he can't knock both doors despite having a description.
For how much gets stolen, A tracker might be an idea. Even airtags or whatever would at least give you some security knowing where your bikes are. (If you havent already)
do you ever report any of the crappy driving to operation snap? Also noticed you riding in the door zone by parked cars, "door and a bit" might piss off some drivers behind you but its way safer than getting hit by a parked car opening their door on you!
This is a prime example of what people in England are complaining about, it is the same everywhere. The reason England has got to this level has everything to do with the boats that have been crossing the channel for the last 30 years unchecked, the authorities have no idea who is in this country and what they are doing... Well this is what they are doing on a massive scale. Policies from the UK Government have left the back door open and not really done anything about it, I have no issues with people who have come here for a good reason and want to contribute to our system. The UK Government could have placed a border control point at Dover a long time ago in order to know who is coming in and to deter people from crossing, instead they pay millions to other countries.

i got followed by two kids on bikes and balaclavas .. i put my foot down lost them... got bike attaked that night now i lock it under shelter at work . Southampton . that was like a month ago soz for your problems there .. stay safe
Sorry about your bikes, weird to see you cycling around my home of Southsea though ! I'll look out for you on my next delivery
You popped on my feed and I knew nothing about working life of a delivery driver on a bike especially in Pompey! I’ll be tipping way more then I have now ❤
I'm so glad you enjoy the videos! Will keep showing the lifestyle! 🙌
@ Please do !🙌
Hope you have good insurance....it's a pain dealing with all the trouble you had!
No insurance is good, if you dare make a claim they'll put your price up
They say things happen in threes. Sorry to hear about these three.
That sucks the UK needs to get a grip
Good to have you back sorry you have gone through this
I’m more sorry I couldn’t post for you lot, I’ve been riding an e-scooter to work for the last 6 weeks it’s been hell!
I went up to skegness for a holiday and took my delivery bag with me.... Busier than my local area and not many drivers. Made £104 from 7pm till 1am. Smashed it out easily
seem to be a very nice polite young man get that bike secured
There is actually an option to skip the pin on uber if you ever get stuck waiting for support again
Good to know! Had no idea 🤣
I order from Just Eat, and they always give me a 4 digit code to give to the driver. Wish it was a 2 or 3 digit code 😅
The light on the bike is shining through the bedroom windows needs tilting down mate.😂
I am about to move to Portsmouth. Well southsea from london. I have lived in that area before amd have just spent the past 4 weeks there before i move. And its a paradise compared to the east end of london i can tell you..
Southsea is nice just not summers town or Buckland
@@troydeeney9 somerstown .

Nice to see you back
Very sorry you got robbed mate. Such rotten luck, we cannot have anything now. Police useless. We are on our own. But you still seem upbeat. All the best
Thanks for the comment mate, had time to process it now, just frustrating as I didn't have a decent method of getting to work for 5/6 weeks also!
you should always lock the frame of the bike from the bike stand! Never just lock the wheel as they can come with a van, lift it and take it
Sad to hear the robberies but glad you're back again.
welcome back mate.God bless u
It's nowhere near as bad as London, to even state that literally makes no sense! Bike theft has always been high in this city, granted, but, this place is not turning into London.
Same thing happened to my Niu. They hacked it to bits and, maybe after they realised it had no batteries in, dumped it in a pond. It was worth probably £700 with both batteries, mindless vandalism.
You should be able to confirm the order without the code when they don’t have it, just say the customer doesn’t have the code and it gives you the option to say it’s been delivered and you get paid for it also
"transit flying off" thought what did I miss,re watched transit early moving, but revving (he may be overloaded.transits are gutless prob has to get the thing moving)
Good to see you back .
If you are from Portsmouth I hear people down here saying the Pompey accent is close to the accent of the Londoner not Cockney,
The thing is I have also heard Londoners say the same thing about us
I am from Croydon and Portsmouth and I've heard this a few times without being asked other than where I lived
Interesting 🙂
@@micstonemic696stone when Portsmouth dockyard expanded in the mid to late 1880s, a lot of the skilled shipbuilders came from London.
Hope your luck is all good now. Look forward to seeing more videos.
What do you expect from skateville ? Dodgy area
Not a fan of Uber Eats. Multiple reasons including having food missing and not getting refunded, plus their former boss is now CEO for a Pompey based business with a dwindling work force, multiple redundancies across most departments
Whereabouts in Albert Road was the bike locked up out of interest?
And on what date was it stolen?
Can definitely recommend Viet Quan. Lovely food!
It really is!
Portmouth is turning into dump. I had a push bike stolen from outside a church(double locked), outside the gym and inside the church hidden upstairs. Used the police and their a joke. Had the names and addresses of the people n the officer was the dumbest person i've come across. Two people called Kealey live at Ducksworth house so he can't knock both doors despite having a description.
For how much gets stolen, A tracker might be an idea. Even airtags or whatever would at least give you some security knowing where your bikes are. (If you havent already)
Yep, 100% ordering air tags for my new e-bike!
@@pompeybites I hope that things get better for you. Surprised you don’t have more subs tbf, love the videos
That’s down to my inconsistency, should be every week from now (if not more)
Long time no see Pompey bites
Good to be back!
Do you have any photos of the bike?
We will keep an eye out in the city for it😮
Yes have posted many times on Instagram 👌
All part of the London rehousing project
That was a lot of effort for 30 quid!
Good to see your back, what is the music you used at 3:37?

@ legend cheers bro 👊
You still didn't lock it to the thing you locked the wheel
I had my car broken into while parked overnight near a hotel in Portsmouth.
Its UK wide if I was your age I would leave and build a life elsewhere.
May have thought about it in my early twenties but will 30 soon, spent enough time living abroad already haha
do you ever report any of the crappy driving to operation snap?
Also noticed you riding in the door zone by parked cars, "door and a bit" might piss off some drivers behind you but its way safer than getting hit by a parked car opening their door on you!
Dont you indicate when turning corners on your bike??
keep on truckin
You can complete it with out the code there is in the app
What’s your name brother I’ll tip you for sure for our delivery in Pompey.. Arundel street. Jordan court.👍
UK needs to fix up
This is a prime example of what people in England are complaining about, it is the same everywhere.
@@slotsshowcase It's more to do with poverty. Crime always shoots up when poverty rises, and that's been going up since about 2010. It's tempting to blame foreigners but that's a smokescreen for me wealth grab from bottom to top that's been going on since the global credit crunch.
@@Stevenspielburger that is a terrible excuse. Stop excusing shitty behaviour. Your attitude is why the country is in the state it is in..
@@q1q1q1q1q1q1q1q11 Nope. This was a problem even before immigration. Before we had rights. The people at the top want us to have less so they encourage division. Knowing fullwell that you can't reduce one section of people's rights over another so they encourage us to campaign to lose our rights, like our freedom of movement. Shity behaviour will always exist. It's not unique to immigration status, is it?
Also vof Buisness owners sre moving into cheaper cities, London rents are expensive.
My bike got stolej in commercial road frw uears back.
Cutting those wires could have killed them. Shame
i had this a bike stolen and broken for parts, i think they're stolen to order or something
I slept through the 1997 hurricane in Portsmouth sound of a baby in Portsea off Queen Street
I woke up and looked out of my curtains to see everywhere smashed then near my friend walked the shoreline and can claim to be the only two people to breach Portsmouth defences where are the Canon is on the hot walls add collapsed into the ocean the weather was now fine parts of the large top stones bent down at the top and it wasn't till I climbed up through I realise the huge danger I had just put myself in
My little claim to fame
Portsmouth born and bread its never been so bad it is becoming just like London it's disgusting
Do you know how fast an impact needs to be to break bones? It's 8 mph so riding along the pavement at 20+ is not only dangerous it's idiotic.
That is km/h on my bike there bud 👍
If the customer doesn't have a code, ask them for the last 4 digits of their mobile.
People always blame the victim for not taking more care or not having a tracker, blah blah..
But what about blaming the thieving scumbags who steal from people who actually work for a living 🤔
Sorry to hear what happened. I’ve had my bike nicked before. I know the feeling 😢
Mate, Portsmouth is both a great city and a terrible city. The criminality needs to stop and it can flourish, but it's an acceptable thing to behave like an animal.
If you pop into London road Tesco hit me up for a redbull.
Did you lock it to something or not?
Yes watch the video
You should use last 4 digits of their phone number as code. It woks
At least in London there are good bits
Yeah lovely beaches in london
We need to import more doctors scientists architects to improve our country the government is right
Btw your breaking the law, ebikes are suppose to be restricted to 15.5mph
You must be fun at partys
It is restricted, your legs make it go quicker 😂
@pompeybites sadly your wrong, all ebikes have to be assisted, means you shouldn't be able to throttle and go forwards with just a lever. Means it's illegal
@ sadly you’re wrong, the throttle only works at walking speed
@pompeybites defo saw u using it while coasting along
Had my ebike battery stolen from my bike and it wasn't even outside it was locked in my garden
They steal e bikes for batteries, if they can unplug the battery easily they steal that.
Welcome to my town boy
I was born here 28 years ago, cheers boy
I live in POMPEY its an ISLAND and just like any other working class city it has its problems! the kids nick eveything!!!
