  • Last week I made a cake that had a little bit of everything she liked on there. One of those things was a Frappuccino! In this video, I show you my technique for making 2D Fondant decorations. You can use this technique for any picture.
I hope you enjoy the video, thank you for watching!
    PICTURE I USED - www.google.com...
    Tools I used:
    CUTTING BOARD - amzn.to/3qDYK7t
    XACTO KNIFE - amzn.to/3mP7Z27
DRESDEN TOOL - amzn.to/3mMMK0P (I got mine in a set like this. This set is actually cheaper to buy than getting just the dresden tool.)
    NEEDLE TOOL - amzn.to/2JBJW8o
    TYLOSE POWDER - amzn.to/2JOQYqc
    CHOCOLATE BROWN DUST - amzn.to/3mMLL0P
BLACK DUST - amzn.to/3qvcxwT (I couldn't find the dark brown that I used. You can mix a TINY bit of black with chocolate brown to get a dark brown.)
CK PIPING GEL - amzn.to/3opKEnX (This is the one with the good container)
WILTON PIPING GEL - amzn.to/2VNnb3L (This is what I refill the container with.)
    STYROFOAM DUMMY - amzn.to/3gcxtUJ
    PUSH PINS - amzn.to/3gftXc4
TO GET TAN: I used a little bit of brown, a TINY bit of green (to cancel out the pink hue of the brown), and a tiny bit of gold.

Your cakes are always gorgeous and I inspire to be like you ^_^ what sizes cakes did you use? Also I Was wondering this is gone be a dumb question but how would you know if your fondant is 1/8 thick 3/16 thick and etc? I have the rings but I myself physically don’t know what those measurements look likw

      Thanks girl!
That cake is 4" / 6" / 7" tiers. The 6" tier is not as tall as the other ones.
I estimate the thickness in my videos. I have a ruler and I've been using it so much that I kind of know how thick 1/8" is just by seeing the ruler so often LOL You don't have to roll it out exactly the thickness I do in the video, you just want to make sure it's really thin when you're making certain things (like lettering) and thicker for decorations like this frappe.

@@KarolynsKakes makes sense! I want to know. I have a tendency of rolling too thin and I can’t lift it up and it tears on me

@@ODY0319 yeah you gotta know when to stop LOL If it's too thin, you can't work with it. Mixing the tylose powder in with it helps though.

@@KarolynsKakes i see i never had tylose powder or cmc powder lol but I have some now! Do you use tylose powder to cover your cake to?

@@ODY0319 Yup! I add a little Tylose to all of my fondant. It makes it easier to work with. Remember a little goes a long way. If you add too much, it will dry hard as a rock. Also, you need to knead it into the fondant and then wait a little bit for it to do its thing before you start using it.
