I had it before for three months and it stopped suddenly. When I went to my appointment, they stated that it was stopped due to lack of personnel to verify the quality of care per household. This was a few years ago. There has been NO statement from the Manila Clinic that it has been activated again.
"To qualify for Special Monthly Compensation (SMC-T) for a traumatic brain injury (TBI), a veteran must meet the following requirements: Need nursing home care, hospitalization, or residential institutional care without in-home aid for their TBI Not qualify for SMC (r2) Receive regular aid and attendance for TBI residuals".
Misinformation here. Regular SMC (L) is aka Aid and Attendance. SMC (R) requires more stringent requirements to be eligible. "To receive compensation under SMC R1 or R2/T (Aid and Attendance), you must first qualify under level O or levels N ½ and K together. The veteran must provide medical evidence demonstrating a significant loss of bodily functions, such as loss of hearing, loss of vision, amputations, or complete paralysis."
Good information, Thanks
Caregiver program is not available in the Philippines, even though there is a VA clinic.

Those are some of the General Elevated SMC requirements! WAY more is needed to obtain
SMC-R ; SMC-R2; and SMC-T
@@rebeccasanford8607 I know, but to list everything required would be one longgggg list to post here. I am SMC (L) myself, and can't touch SMC (R).
