Imagine being pressured because someone calmly told you to remind him next time-

Bring pressured because someone calmly reminded you to do your job

Asking people to do their job is apparently controlling "bitchy" behaviour. Being a supervisor/shift manager is a thankless jobb.

It is kinda crazy that someone with no experience can be hired as your boss just because of their qualifications because in multiple cases education doesn't equal intelligence

Well I can tell you that most employees that are really good at their job, say a line chef, a waiter, a warehouse docks worker, or a store clerk. The skills required for those jobs are very different than being a manager. Lots of people are amazing workers but fail when stopped in a managerial position because it is a completely different set of skills that most people simply aren't good at. It's unfortunate because good workers deserve promotions, but losing good workers because they suddenly are in a position they don't know, and that requires a different skill set is also a shame for both business and employee

@@Douglas-nt7jd thanks for such a detailed reply I didn't look at it that way I still think it must suck to have a manager with no experience boss you around but you've shown it's not as black and white as I thought so thanks

@@Douglas-nt7jdThat’s true, but you really should have a hands on experience on the job if you want to foster a better work environment.
If you’re a manager, how do you actually manage a group of people whose skill set you don’t comprehend, both the hard skills and soft skill set.
It’s ridiculous that we have managers that ask from their employees what they themselves can’t provide.

@@bogustoast22none25 for most Managerial roles you don't need to understand the labor your workers are performing. I managed a team of software developers when I have absolutely no idea how software design works. I was delegating functions, communicating between members, making sure they logistically had the equipment and templates they needed, gave them deadlines, defended them from higher management, worked out scheduling, etc. My entire job was making decisions and making sure everyone was on the same page. Anybody that has moderate management experience could manage that team even knowing nothing about the product or software.
However when it comes to jobs where physical limitations can easily prevent progress such as construction, the manager needs to know why you can't just bridge a 7/16 inch gap when welding an elbow joint. Or why having you haul a welding machine up a ladder to hit a tight spot is not only exceptionally dangerous but nearly impossible to do alone.
In the end, most management positions do not require knowledge of their workers job, or even the ability to perform their job. They just need to understand the nature of the work and have the skills to coordinate, communicate, and prevent unnecessary burden placed on their team from higher management

Was promoted to shift leader they made me run the Dunkin’ at night by myself fucked with every one of my paychecks never made an effort to staff night shift would have me train all the new comers just so they’d go to mornings than they chopped my hours in half. All this for one dollar more than minimum wage I worked there for over a year and they still owe me 350$ from all my botched checks. They feel comfortable fucking over people who are just getting into the workforce cause they make sure to under pay you so you can’t even afford a good lawyer to get the money you work for.

      Dude that's a labour violation
they are legally obligated to pay you and you can definitely sue them for lost wages

In the UK you don't need a lawyer you need proof you worked and a quick phone call to hmrc and a form that's easy to full out yourself

My husband re-designed all the failing machines in his company, now very profitable. New CEO doesn't like my "creative" style flat-management husband as manager & suggests moving him to Sales. (Bc on top of being best designer, he can also sell VERY well when assisting salesmen).
Didn't go over so well with husband, now we're planning on gtfo and CEO is back-peddaling.

I'm the only one at my work who hasn't had it.
