This is basically how I feel about the duo. Nora used to be one of my favorite characters, but at some point without me noticing I just kinda stopped caring about her, and in retrospect it was 100% because they just evaporate in vol 5 and 6 after the vol 4 bomb.
Imagine if Nora was the reason Robyn was able to escape. Blake and Yang would be eager to capture her and manage to corner Robyn in an alley until there is a smoke grenade or flashbang launched at them and there is a vague form of Nora seen by Blake or Yang. Robyn would escape because Nora took matters into her own hands due to Ironwood not listening to her.
Nora is not only that impulsive but she also (or rather could’ve been written to I should say as the show never runs with the idea) has a massive chip on her shoulder so I can see it.
I think the major problem with the CRWBY is that they don't plan. Every character is basically a plot point, that they jump to expand once they remember (or the fans scream about it enough). The only exception (sort of) is Weiss, who I am 100% convinced, that was done on accident. So Blake and Yang weren't the only poorly written couple in this series? Like I said on your video about Ice Queendom's first three episodes, I get that Miles and Kerry are comedy writers and hiring writers who are good at plot and characterization would take time and money and so would learning those skills. But I only go for so long understanding a writer's strengths before I give up on them. Thankfully I'm not there yet as I have yet to watch Volumes 4-9.
I remember being a young RWBY fan and having just finished rewatching Volume 5, at the time I thought it was kind of a boring volume but was sorta fine with it. This was around the time when RWBY criticism was starting to get more common but at the time I hadn't really seen many people openly criticize the show, everyone sorta treated it as a masterpiece. But it didn't take long for me to discover a multitude of RWBY critique videos or videos trying to make a better version of RWBY, at the time I kinda just ignored them but the more and more these videos popped up, the more upset I got that (what was at the time) my favorite show was being criticised so much online. But eventually I actually sat down and watched some of these critiques and listened to the points they had and I found myself agreeing with them and all the flaws they had pointed out about the show. I get that it's stupid of me to base my own opinions off the opinions of others but I wasn't very well versed in online criticism at the time so it was kinda hard for me to have my own opinions on stuff without the influence of others. Eventually I sorta just stopped watching RWBY and forgot about the show, I'm more indifferent to it now more than anything but I won't deny that these types of videos are very entertaining to watch and do a good job at finding the problems with the show. I guess what I'm trying to say with this comment is that I miss when I used to like RWBY, I miss when I used to spend all day watching the show on TH-cam and stuff, now the show has gotten worse (or was always bad to some people) and it just doesn't feel the same watching it anymore.
Thank you for sharing the comment. And I hope that despite all of these mixed feelings that my videos have made things a bit more bearable. Having that realization you spoke of is not an easy process. Sometimes you will look back on media you used to like and some aspects don't jell with you anymore like they used to. But as bad as it can be, that's ok. You will always have those memories of liking the thing you did. Those moments are real. Plus with what you understand about the flaws of the show now, you can gain a greater understanding of why the things that holed up do so well. And you can maintain your enjoyment whether you find the works you like are bad or not. Its all in how you make of it. So make it fun. this may be a hot take but i feel like ren nora and jaune the only guys i feel like don't get thst screen time and there the ones i cared about to vol 4 5 6 7 and 8 but good video
13:46 Do you know where this clip comes from?
No Idea. I took it from a youtube video that had it. Must be from some rap battle or something
Proof that Team JNPR should've stayed in Argus. Seriously, what did they have to add to the narrative in season 7-8?
Other than the shipping bait and the Thirsty Milf meme?
Why do you sometimes put the little timer on the corner sometimes?
Honestly I don't know where thats from. I must have hit a button in sony vegas by mistake and I wasn't sure how to take it out
What’s the stopwatch for? It seems arbitrary in its placement at times.
Oh, it’s the runtime.
i always knew that this show was just cool fights and a nothing burger lol... had a classmate that was OBSSESED with it and the fact that there are mmd videos made by 1 person with better production value than this... its not surprising that the story leaves a lot to be desired
Huh... No wonder these two felt so bland to me
In my opinion, Ren really should have unlocked his semblance in that fight, not during his childhood. It just makes more sense since it was a character growth moment where he needed to remember and value a calm mind. Also, please just make it an actual ninja skill where he can actually *move* when using it. (Also making him also invisible to humans would be neat too, like, come on)
*sigh* It was going so-so until you made things weirdly political for no damn reason. Most people don't want that nonsense infecting everything, you'll only get other reactionary weirdos with that approach.
Im assuming you meant the Shapiro bit. That was merely a funny way to facilitate my point. After all, Do you see any reactionary weirdos in my comment section so far?
@Kaiser Shounen Also you understand anarchism and liberalism are different things right?
@@KaiserShounen I mean in the Ben Shapiro bit you were literally making fun of liberals lol. How do you even like Ben after he made a giant ass of himself?
@@ChangedMyNameFinally69 I don't like Ben Shapiro. I just thought the joke was funny 🤷
@@ChangedMyNameFinally69 Yes I do but what does that have to do with my joke?
