I've been checking almost daily for your review on this man! So happy it's finally here. I still have the T1 on my 75 inch. Got the T2 last Christmas and it wasn't a big enough upgrade from the T1 to make the price worth it to me, so I sent it back. I've been waiting on the new sync box since then and I will definitely be upgrading to it shortly. Thanks for the review! It was on point as usual my man.
Your reviews are a work of art. The depth, the dialogue, the effort you go through to get those amazing shots (ex. back of the TV/monitor), the labelling. Reminds me why I subscribed to you in the first place. I envy your organization and your ability to put your thoughts together so well.
Thank you for you review! Did you test if Dolby atmos passes through the govee box? Have a 7.1.4 soundbar and wish to know if audio did changein any way. Thanks again!
I have the Govee T3 Lite. They are pretty good. I have to say that the best looking solution for me is the Fancy LEDs with 96 RGBWs per metre as opposed to Govee AI2’s 75 per metre. I understand that you are talking 3 x HDMIs v 4 HDMIs but Apple TV for streaming and 2 consoles are all I need. A full comparison between the 2 would be great.
Im also running the t3 Lite and waiting to see a comparison between this option and fancyLEDS. My tv is in a somewhat bright room and performance can vary a lot between day and night. A box would solve that gripe
Excellent review on this box. I ended up picking this up because #1) I'm already tied to Govee's ecosystem thus I can utilzie Dreamview and #2) Being Matter compatible is very important so I can set automations in Home Assistant to turn on the sync box when I watch certain streaming services.
Already pre-ordered!👌🏽 I'm currently running your previous suggested setup, actually! Govee AI1 Syncbox connected to 77" LGC3 OLED, passing through the Ezcoo 8k HDMI2.1 splitter to achieve my 4k 120hz. That setup is connected to a Govee M1 rgbicw lightstrip running across the ceiling, alongside a Govee Floor Lamp 2 for each respective side & various bulbs throughout the room to complete ambiance! Honestly couldn't have done it w/o meticulously watching your previous vids! It's all simple to learn but your reviews are dang near PERFECT!🙌🏾 I'll be picking up a diffuser for the M1 next & TV bars ocne they release an upgraded version for the underside.
@MrTekSuggest (edit persay) I've gone ahead and got the StripLight 2 Pro after watching your review and confessions video about 8-10 times😂 replaced the m1 ceiling strip with it, using a proper muzata spotless diffuser channel to clean up the space. The SyncBox 2 just arrived & now it's time to watch this video 10 more times for the vibes while installing the setup😁 I'm so excited to see your next video drop, including both of these items, in that living room upgrade you talked about previously! Love the professionalism, good vibes, & straightforward information you provide, man. One of my favorite YT channels period.
Thanks for the awesome review! Making my decision easier! 🙏 Quick question regarding the strip 2 pro, what are you using for the diffused light around the strip itself? Is it a cover or something? Thanks again!!
Hey man, yes, I am using a diffuser channel for the strip 2 pro. It’s actually by Govee as well “Govee strip light kit with covers” there is a link in the description. Including here as well. Strip 2 pro diffuser amzn.to/3CKupyl
What if you use a Receiver? Do you have to choose to use the receiver or use the sync box? Curious how you would hook up the sysnc box in conjunction with a home reveiver?
I'm pretty happy with my Philips TV that has integrated lights that don't interfere with neither video nor audio signals. But those New lights do look really premium
Sometimes it seems like this set can handle dark zones and sometimes it seems like it cant. Is this a setting in the app? Can this box shut off certain lights when the screen has black areas? At 14:37 it seems like it cant and at around 17:04 it seems like it can?
I got the box today and I noticed exactly this problem. The LEDs turn off in dark scenes but sometimes colors appear that aren't even visible on the screen. Unfortunately, I haven't been able to get the problem under control using the settings. In general, it's very common for the LEDs to show green or red tones that aren't actually on the TV. Perhaps this can be fixed somehow with an update.
Great video. For the install, it sounds like the sync box diary of works like an hdmi hub? So for example I would unplug my firesrick from my TV and plug it into this box instead? And the box subsequently connects into the hdmi on the TV. Is that correct?
Hello, Great video! Are you still able to plug in your soundbar to the tv via eARC and you didnt experience any issues with sound ? I am trying to change from Lytmi as there are issues with the soundbar.
Great video mate, super excited once this is available in Australia. Would you be able to share your sound bar setup with the sync box, are you using Arc/eArc and how? 6:44
Hey man, yes I am currently using ARC, with a direct connection from a dedicated ARC port on the TV directly to my sound bar. If you do not have a separate dedicated ARC port on your TV, you’!! Need to connect your bar between your consoles/streaming box
13:42 where do you have the camera for the Govee T2 in the bottom right corner? I rely on smart TV apps and so would be looking at that but people say that you can't flip the orientation of the camera. I cant see it anywhere in your shot.
great review! is there a workaround for the washed out hdr colors? not sure if I should go with fancy because of that issue, feels like it wouldnt work so great on my greyish wall.
Essentially you'll be waiting on software updates to further fix the washout. He did specify he had an early production piece so the one you get during release very may well already be fixed! For now if the issue still stands once delivered, you'll be able to use the saturation & sensitivity on 100%, as well as, adjusting color calibration to 20% yellow to get the richest color! Hope this helps🤘🏽
In your opinion is it still worth it to add bars (H6046 or H6042) to the sides? I'm guessing those can only sync with the box through Dreamview? Are there any benefits to a camera set up over a sync box for someone who doesn't use TV apps (I noticed in your side by side that the camera gets dark when the screen is dark/black but as someone who hasn't played around with TV lighting before it's hard to tell if that's more "immersive" or not)?
Govee ai sync box doesn't have aLLM (I thought I heard you reference it). I'm surprised the Philips Hue box goes only up to 120hz, that's fine for me now but it doesn't make it very future proof :\ and at that price.... the main benefit with the Philips Hue is that it has the auto switch HDMI and that's a big one because I switch between gaming and streaming often (streaming will need to be with a Google TV chromecast to use the sync boxes)
Can you let me know how you connect two devices (Xbox and Shield TV) to this using a soundbar? Can this handle dolby atmos? How much gap I need from the TV and wall for a good illumination? I have a slim wall mount.
Per usual, that was an awesome review. Very well put together and done sir. I have lightly filtered through most of the comments on here to see if you have touched on topic of integrating the AI2 box with a AVR home theater system but didn't see anything. I've had the t2 system since I saw your review on it. It has worked out well for me since I do somewhat rely heavily on streaming apps through the TV itself. I would love to make the upgrade to a sync box but im worried about 2 main things. How easily will it integrate with my denon x3800h avr and is there a work around for getting the sync box to work with tv apps? If you have any thoughts or tips in these matters I would greatly appreciate your input.
Can this simply be used in between the monitor output on a reciever and the TV? I use my receiver for my HDMI switching so basically using one in out in the sync box and the output?
Great review MrTek!!! You provided some pertinent information when referencing how the previous TV Backlights with cameras (T1, T2 etc.) won't work connected with the AI2 sync box. BUT ALSO - it had me thinking and induced a question for you. What if you kept your T2 Backlight setup in place. Then added the AI2 sync box with it's lights; but kept them separately independent of one another. THEN added the AI2 sync box w/ lights, to the T2 Backlight camara setup through dreamview within the Govee App. That should work in unison - Correct???
Hey man, your idea seems pretty sound. Just keep in mind that the T2 or any of the camera kits cannot be added to an existing Dreamview group. They can only serve a sync center for other supported products. That’s said, yes, you could have the T2 backlight and camera set up alongside the AI2( 2strip sets installed on the back), and use the T2 backlight, for example, for your TV apps and then switch over to the AI2 for consoles, etc.
Excellent preview/review. I currently use the T2 still because I'm nit picky about introducing another connection in between my gpu and television. Curious if this interferes with Gsync or free sync? Would love for this option to finally retire camera solution but in all honesty it still performs very well.
When you displayed comparison between Govee AI 2 and Lytme you can notice Govee doesn't dimm lights in black/dark sections on the screen. Is it something you can fix with the sliders/settings?
Hey man, the two boxes are capable of shutting beads off on black, but the software for each respective box handles this task differently. Activating HDR on your display and raising the sensitivity dial in the app seems to trigger better reaction for the AI2 black shut off. But it isn’t the strongest in this area
I have the t3 lite. It works well enough to increase the contrast and add light to my TCL qled. It's response is way to slow for fast gaming. The initial setup is very touchy to get the 7 points all perfect. Calibration is nearly impossible, maybe they could do better than just a blue-red slider I'm at 49 brightness, 50 saturation, and 13 on the tint. Paid what would be like 55usd for it, so it is excellent value, and very cool.
Hello I see i can order sync box 2.0 from Amazon us to ship to Australia, will u even be selling this directly in aus, i noticed original one never was.. so am considering ordering from amazon US, is that safe to use in aus with just a normal us to au power adaptor or is there a problem? Thanks!
Tnx for this detailed video. The only thing i cant find anywhere is how to connect the sync box if you have a soundbar inbetween the tv as well. My soundbar is connected to hdmi arc on tv.
Hey man, your set up sounds similar to mine. If you have a dedicated ARC HDMI port and at least 1 other 2.1 port on the TV, there is no need to change your sound bar set up at all. Simply connect the box to the TV via another HDMI port., make sure that your ARC settings are active on the display, and your audio will get handled on the backend for each device connected directly into the sync box input ports
PS5 (Pro) will not support 144 Hz, but some games make good use of 4K 120 Hz, so it's definitely a great upgrade for base and Pro models, if you don't want to rob yourself of options.
Rhis guy always tives the beat reviews. I have an LG G3 mounted on the wall, in trying to think of ideas on how i can get rhe bottom strip put on there since i dont see where i can mount the bottor strip of LEDs without it butting the wal. Any suggestions?
I have to say after seeing both this and the new fancyleds the fancyLEDs definitely won this year untill we see what lytmi fantasy 4 offers when its released
I bought Fancy Leds 2.1 and already sent it back. So no sorry no competition. The box wasn't even capable of displaying orange colour in scenes showing green instead. Fancy Leds customer service admitted their device is faulty and refunded me. That's why I ended up ordering AI 2 TV. In Germany!
Hey man, if you want to go with the AI2, with your TV size, I would actually recommend the PC version. And you can choose to use the bars alongside the strip or not. I’ve actually installed the PC length strip on a 49 inch ultra wide monitor and got great coverage. With the strip and bars working in tandem
Hmm, I think I’d still recommend the PC set, given that the strip cannot be cut. The lightbars add great additional coverage in conjunction with the strip . I actually installed the A1 PC kit (same length) on a 49” monitor
So the main question.... The BOX itself can it be used justo to connect hdmis in BUT no LED strip and connect it to the tv backlight T3 i already have behind the tv?
@MrTekSuggest and make it work through the app? Can the box pc kit work taking off the camera of the T3 an connecting the light strip to the sync box through the app? Thanks for your reply, great video!
@@magnumelio Let me know if I’m understanding correctly, you’d like to know if the T3 camera can be physically connected to the sync box? The answer is no unfortunately. Inside of the app for the sync box you’d be able to switch between hdmi ports (while the T3 system tracks color), but you need the included A2 light strip to be connected to the box in order to have the sync box track color itself. Now, if you did a double install for the sync box and the T3, meaning you’ll have 2 dedicated light strips on the back of the display, you could have your cake and eat it to. The T3 will continue to work for smart TV apps, for example, and you can switch over AI2 for consoles or streaming boxes like a fire cube, for example.
@@MrTekSuggest no, I was asking the opposite, I have the TV hanged up and can't han it down due to the size(it was not installed by me) I have T3 backlight with led controller behind it but the camera is Infront so I can take it out. The question is if the sync box for the PC kit is the same as for the tv kit? And if that sync box would work with the T3? In the case it works it is through the app though there will be a bit of latency but for sure better than the camera... So what after reading internet my steps are: 1. Unplug camera from T3 2. Install sync box an conect hdmis 3. Connect somehow sync box with T3 ??? This is the question Thanks for your patience!
@ I see, so the PC sync box light strip will not work properly for the TV sync box and vice versa. And the T3 strip cannot be used with any of the new sync boxes (PC or TV). The AI2 boxes have to be used with the latest 75 bpm RGBW light strip unfortunately
I use govee gaming light strip g1 for my PC I'm thinking about upgrading to this for gaming and I'm using the t3 lite for my tv and I was thinking should I upgrade both my monitor strip and the TV t3 lite to this sync box. I never liked having the camera because it deals with what's reflecting on my tv because my PC and TV is in my room and I have other govee lights connected in my room hmmmm. I have a smart TV so I'm watching movies and shows on it when I'm not gaming. Should i upgrade both or one?
You will lose you smart TV apps unfortunately with the sync box, if that’s not a deal breaker, I’d give it a go. How has the Desktop app been working for you? Do you mainly game on windows and are you seeking a higher refresh than 120?
@@MrTekSuggest I heard that some people said if I use a fire TV stick I can bypass that or something like that. If there is a way around that then I'll buy it for my tv so I can watch movies and shows. The desktop app is ok I game on windows I use dreamview and got the gaming g1 strip together with my rope light so they sync together I just wish govee will make the light bulbs compatible with dreamview on the desktop so I can sync all of it but my refresh rate for my monitor is 165 Hz. I want to upgrade the strip because I see the lag in it. I also watch videos on my PC and the strip have no problem showing the colors on the screen. I want to know will it perform better than the light strip with no problems no lag and can I still use dreamview for the PC.
The FacnyLED box works well with eArc, can't speak on this one but based on the specs should be fine. CEC also works, if you have a device like Apple TV connected
@MrTekSuggest does this mean we have to run source(ex. Shield) > sync box 2 > tv. Then, separately soundbar > TVs earc? Or will it straight up not support atmos?
@@rainefx it will support atmos as earc passthrough. the setup you posted sounds right. Source, Sync Box, Tv. Then TV Earc to SoundBar HDMI, which is how it should already be setup.
Yeaaa.. I'll buy one if they can mimic different shapes/patterns like your wall... Not just ARGB lol. Kind of clickbait-y since that's a wall and not part of the govee ecosystem ha.
@ Govee advertises the PC kit for 27-34”, but I actually have installed it on a 49 inch ultra wide monitor with good coverage. To play it safe though, I’d say up to a 45” display should fair well for the PC kit, especially with the added 16inch light bars
Im currently using govee t2 camera but the ai 2 looks too washed for me and doesnt have the shut off segments of lights feature when part of the screen is black and part is lit. Fancy LEDs has the perfect saturation and can shut off segments of lights in dark scenes but i dont know if it supports 4k 144hz

Rhis guy always tives the beat reviews. I have an LG G3 mounted on the wall, in trying to think of ideas on how i can get rhe bottom strip put on there since i dont see where i can mount the bottor strip of LEDs without it butting the wal. Any suggestions?

Great video! Really excellent content and information!
Glad you enjoyed it!
What kind of tv you got support only 4k 60 dolby vision its not green all the way
I bought Fancy Leds 2.1 and already sent it back. So no sorry no competition. The box wasn't even capable of displaying orange colour in scenes showing green instead. Fancy Leds customer service admitted their device is faulty and refunded me. That's why I ended up ordering AI 2 TV. In Germany!
Will the 55-65 inch version Govee ai sync work on my 43 inch tv ? Or should I just directly buy the Fancyleds that support it ?
Hey man, if you want to go with the AI2, with your TV size, I would actually recommend the PC version. And you can choose to use the bars alongside the strip or not. I’ve actually installed the PC length strip on a 49 inch ultra wide monitor and got great coverage. With the strip and bars working in tandem
@@MrTekSuggest thanks for the response 💪 great video btw
my monitor is 45'' inch LG 240hz, what do you suggest?
Hmm, I think I’d still recommend the PC set, given that the strip cannot be cut. The lightbars add great additional coverage in conjunction with the strip . I actually installed the A1 PC kit (same length) on a 49” monitor
@@MrTekSuggest My big doubt was about the refresh rate, because the PC version doesn't reach 240hz in QHD.
@@t3ussimracingit reach 240hz in 2k
some reason im getting more yellow then orange when the display shows tan on the screen. I have the tint at 20% percent .
Fancyleds is better. It also has many more leds per inch.
I can't see a big difference between ai1 and ai2 in this comparison but I'm guessing it's more obvious in person.
What if you plug in a crome cast into the sync box and open your apps from there
Yes, as long as you can physically connect your streaming source to the box via HDMI, it will work.
So the main question.... The BOX itself can it be used justo to connect hdmis in BUT no LED strip and connect it to the tv backlight T3 i already have behind the tv?
Yes, if you leave your camera kit installation in place, you can use the box as an HDMI switcher without the LED strip.
@@MrTekSuggest no, I was asking the opposite, I have the TV hanged up and can't han it down due to the size(it was not installed by me)
I have T3 backlight with led controller behind it but the camera is Infront so I can take it out. The question is if the sync box for the PC kit is the same as for the tv kit? And if that sync box would work with the T3? In the case it works it is through the app though there will be a bit of latency but for sure better than the camera...
So what after reading internet my steps are:
1. Unplug camera from T3
2. Install sync box an conect hdmis
3. Connect somehow sync box with T3 ??? This is the question
Thanks for your patience!
@ I see, so the PC sync box light strip will not work properly for the TV sync box and vice versa. And the T3 strip cannot be used with any of the new sync boxes (PC or TV). The AI2 boxes have to be used with the latest 75 bpm RGBW light strip unfortunately
I can't find this Sync box for 75 inch TVs...
Does anyone know the name of the music at the beginning?
Awesome review
Well one downside I can see straight away is it's displaying a colour/light on black screen which is bad.
Review Fancy LED Syncbox
Il y a toujours un temps de retard qui est trop visible entre la télé et les leds
I dont Like The Box because They dont shout down The LEDs in black backround. I think fancy is The best System
WHERE IS THE FANCYLEDS SYNC BOX REVIEW??
Dolby atmos work
Hmm, how would this work with eARC soundbars?
Excellent question.
The FacnyLED box works well with eArc, can't speak on this one but based on the specs should be fine. CEC also works, if you have a device like Apple TV connected
There’s support for eARC Bypass or pass-through, however not for decode.
I prefer the camera option, so I can use it with TV apps for steaming
Ooooooooo
Yeaaa.. I'll buy one if they can mimic different shapes/patterns like your wall... Not just ARGB lol.
Kind of clickbait-y since that's a wall and not part of the govee ecosystem ha.
A 42" would be best. Idk why they dont realize gamers are using these now
I’d like to see that TV size too. The PC strip will actually provide good coverage for your size though. Esp with the added bars.
@MrTekSuggest but isn't it maxed out at 32"? I got a 42" LG c2 I use as a gaming monitor
@ Govee advertises the PC kit for 27-34”, but I actually have installed it on a 49 inch ultra wide monitor with good coverage. To play it safe though, I’d say up to a 45” display should fair well for the PC kit, especially with the added 16inch light bars
@MrTekSuggest oh dam okay I might pull the trigger than. Good looking brother
Saturation slider. Fancy LEDs looks like it’s bugging out and flashing making it seem like it’s broken. Ai box 2 has smoother transitions
