    81 ram charger, I have a drain on the battery. I found that it’s my timing light stays on. The little light on the ignition that supposed to turn off after a few seconds when shutting the door. I pulled the fuse so it stops draining the batt. But now I don’t have interior lights or dash. Where is that wire located and what’s the best way to fix that issue? Thank you.

    Hey Filthy Rich,
    I would love to replace the fusible links on my dodge and your video is great. Can you quickly explain what type of circuit breaker that is? How do you know what amps the fusible links are that trying to replace? I'm not very knowledgeable when it comes to vehicle electronics. Thanks!

    • @DEBOSSGARAGE
      @DEBOSSGARAGE  8 ปีที่แล้ว +15

      +Matt D It should say on the fusible link what amperage it is. If you can't read it, turn every accessory in the car on (all lights, fan, radio,wipers, have someone rolling the windows up and down) and then cut the fusible link. This will tell you what circuits are on that link. Put an amp meter between the cut wires and see what the draw is. Put a slightly higher circuit breaker where the fusible link was. The alternator will need the biggest at 150 amps but the rest should be 15 and 20 amps.

      +Zach Noll The circuit breakers are the big items. Make sure you have at least a 50 amp if you are running your alternator through it. I just hooked my alternator straight to the second battery. Heat shrink ring terminals for the 14 and 12 gauge wire and eyes for the 10 gauge wire I had in the shop. I gutted an old broken fuse and put a 3/8 bolt through it with some silicone and you are off to the races.

    • @zachnoll4863
      @zachnoll4863 8 ปีที่แล้ว

    • @DEBOSSGARAGE
