This is good. Indeed, robotics kits are expensive, but this initiative needs to be adopted by almost all schools in Zimbabwe. Developing talent at the high school level will help Zimbabwe produce skilled robotics engineers, computer scientists, software engineers, electrical and electronics engineers, computer engineers, and more.
Technology education should be a priority in the Zimbabwean curriculum. The world is rapidly becoming more digital, with AI playing a significant role in our daily lives. This focus shouldn't be limited to robotics alone but should also include embedded systems, IoT, cloud computing, and web/mobile app development.
Students need to understand how subjects like math, physics, and statistics are applied in the technology they use every day. During high school, many students fail to see the importance of these subjects, not realizing that they form the basis of all our digital devices.
By showing students the practical applications of these subjects, we can foster a greater appreciation and understanding of their importance.
