@@sbeautifulsounds I love it! People are nice and polite. I miss a little walkable neighborhood areas, but that’s the only negative. It’s very spread out. Still very affordable
Two great spots Trophy and Poole’s Diner! Y’all were just around the corner from me at my local Trophy location. Thanks for showcasing the city and our beautiful greenways!
So glad to see Umstead featured! I used to live just a mile or two down Glenwood from it and would do the 7 mile hiking trail nearly every weekend during Covid lockdowns. It's such an underrated place that far too many locals don't know about.
I follow you guys since Brasil. But now we are living just south of Raleigh, in Fuquay-Varina. If you guys miss Brazilian coffee, you are more than invited.
Oh my goodness, we certainly are missing Brazilian coffee! Wish we could have taken y'all up one that. :) We know exactly where Fuquay-Varina is, too! Chris used to live in Apex so not too far from that.
@@chrisandsara my wife even said that she could prepare some brigadeiro. We love Apex, but Fuquay gives it more of a country side feeling, specially downtown.
My best friend lives in Cary and I'm sad to say I haven't visited them yet! They always come to see me at the beach. You have definitely gotten me interested in visiting Raleigh though! Thanks for sharing you classy people! :)
@@chrisandsara I will for sure! Mac & cheese is my favorite comfort food! I hear there's a restaurant in NYC that only serves mac & cheese. It will be my first stop if I make it back to NYC!
The cool thing about Umstead Park is that there are TWO entrances, the one you guys entered was the Raleigh entrance but there is a Cary entrance as well near the airport. That's where Small Lake is! The Cary entrance has more hiking trails and a waterfall. Worth checking out! The Cary entrance is kind of hard to find so make sure to use GPS.
I'm not vegan either but let me tell you, Raleigh does have some great vegan restaurants that are so amazing that even meat eaters love it. I love a big juicy steak like the next guy but I also can appreciate delicious high quality vegan food!
Having lived in the Triangle area since 1991. I feel like 48 hours isn't enough to go to all the great restaurants and breweries. But really cool video, love seeing my home state. :) I used to work in Downtown Raleigh before the pandemic hit, and there were so many good places to eat there. :)
That La Farm Bakery that you went to on W. Chatham Street in downtown Cary, NC had to be previously a flooring store, as it says "FLOORS" behind the logo.
Oh that's a hard question! It's been years since we lived there. I (Sara) lived in an apartment in downtown Raleigh and Chris lived in Apex and Cary. There are a lot of great neighborhoods in RDU!
I'm so glad you made this video moving to Riley, North Carolina in about 2 and a 1/2 weeks, really? So excited so anxious to move there. I cannot wait the only thing. I'm not happy about moving to North Carolina I have to tell you is pumping your own. Yes, me and my fiancé are definitely not looking forward to that.
Just a couple of comments since I'm watching this a year after it was posted. First of all, there's now a La Farm Bakery in downtown Raleigh on Glenwood Ave., though I wouldn't sleep on Bolted Bread either (also in downtown). Their Morning Bun is heavenly. Secondly, and for clarification, Umstead State Park is actually within the city limits of Raleigh with Cary just across I-40.
wow i'm starting to watch your videos i really thought raleigh was going to leave greenville south carolina in the dust despite having a bigger metropolitan area greenville looks more spectacular i don't know more vibe in its downtown
That's a tough one... they're very similar but also different. I think Greenville has more small town charm but Raleigh has more amenities and variety.
Raleigh is not a city, it's like a suburb of a city in the north east. If your from the north east you'll totally disagree with this video. The food is bad, the restaurants are chains the clothing stores are poor quality, you will have to go to saks to get the quality your used to purchasing in the N.E. or you will have to order your clothes online from north eastern stores. Forget getting a decent pizza or any italian food and or chinese and most other ethnic food that is good. You'll have to have your bagels shipped down to raleigh becase as far as I can see there are no decent bagels here. The primary job market is in the medical and pharmaceutical industries so if you're not in those industries get ready to live on 50k a year. They also raised the home prices in Raleigh overnight to tri state area prices without any amenities or grocery stores to support such a phenomenon. so imagine paying mortgages comparable to living in Conneticut, New Jersey or New York with no decent stores, restaurants or decent medical care for yourself or pets. (All the good Drs leave). And don't bring your kids here because the quality of the school system is rated around 24th in the country to the other 50 states, therefore when your child graduates high school they more than likely not be able to get into Duke, UNC ,NC state or other comparable universities But the most disturbing thing I've never experienced before is the amount of poverty in the state and you'll probably find it disturbing as well. This video is not accurately assesing this city and that's more than likely because the youtubers are so young and not traveled.
ill never understand the folks that think durham is better than raleigh.... chapel hill shouldn't even be in the mix at this point, it's a hippie college town that can't keep up. i'm biased but there really isn't a reason to leave wake county if you're in this area
I hope you make more videos about medium and small cities like Raleigh. There's so many smaller cities in the US that are fun.
Agreed! I'm sure we'll have more mid to small size city videos one day. :)
Beautiful! Moving there next month… can’t wait!!!
Best of luck with your move!!
I’m thinking of moving there too. But kind of afraid
@@agak9974why are you afraid 😱?
Did you move there, how is it?

This video was so relaxing and chill. So well put together too
Thanks so much!! Raleigh is a relaxing town so it's good to hear that was conveyed in the video. :)
Raleigh Durham is the best place in the USA 🇺🇸. Literally utopia 😊
Who know that Raleigh was so cool and such a delicious destination! I can see with 3 college towns so close the rivalry. Great video guys!~Cara 😊

It's such a wonderful park! We noticed that the park was very quiet. I can't believe more people don't visit!
I've only been to Raleigh for my cousins' weddings but I'll put it on my travel-for-fun list!
I live in west Cary
Fun place to visit!
The suburbs are amazing!! Cary, Apex, Holly Springs. They are pricey but safe and great jobs!
I live in west Cary off of Davis Dr and high house 🏡 rd in in Preston
Thanks for the tips!
You did not mention the outdoor film nights at the NC Museum of Art, which are great.
Ah! Good call! We should have mentioned that and totally forgot.
Sheeeeesh your editing is ON POINT. Great video!
Thank you so much!! We love making videos so it's wonderful to hear you enjoyed watching it. :)
Thanks for showcasing the area…I am from Hillsborough…so…Go Heels…but, your right. It is all Good.
Hi in HIllsborough! 😊 Thanks so much for watching, Susan!

It's hard to compete with a beach, but you should visit Raleigh sometime for the mac n cheese if nothing else. 🙃

Thanks for the video about Raleigh! I graduated from nc state in 2006 with a degree 📜 in accounting 🧾 information systems.
Wow thank you so much. So glad you enjoyed our video and we loved our time in Raleigh!
That Mac and cheese looks so good.
Ellen, it was amazing!! Now if we could have some Flying Goat to compliment it🤤
Hope you get to try the Biscuits Belly restaurant
For Breakfast or Lunch.❤
We are in Raleigh this weekend too! There was a good concert at the red hat amphitheater last night!!

Oh, thank you for sharing this!! We thought Umstead was such a gem!
We have been to Raleigh to visit the Marble’s Children’s Museum, but I definitely want to go back to explore! We are about 1.5 hours from there!
I've heard great things about that museum! Raleigh is definitely worth another trip to explore more. :)
Another wonderful, real world vlog.....what is Raleigh nite life like?😊
Raleigh certainly has a younger demographic of college kids and young professionals, but I wouldn't consider it to be a top nightlife kind of place.
I love that you aren’t vegans! I appreciate seeing food I eat.
I'm not vegan either but let me tell you, Raleigh does have some great vegan restaurants that are so amazing that even meat eaters love it. I love a big juicy steak like the next guy but I also can appreciate delicious high quality vegan food!

Agreed! 48 hours wasn't nearly long enough. We so enjoyed our couple of years living in the Triangle ❤Area, too.
Raleigh is a fun place and has been growing a lot!
☺️
Omg I'm from Australia but I've been in Charlotte/Fayetteville all week
No way! Welcome to the USA, specifically North Carolina! :) Hope you have a wonderful rest of your trip!
I've never really visited Raleigh, just brief stops over the years. I need to make trip that way someday soon.
That La Farm Bakery that you went to on W. Chatham Street in downtown Cary, NC had to be previously a flooring store, as it says "FLOORS" behind the logo.
Umstead park is the best!!!!
Umstead is a great park!
Flea market at the fairgrounds every weekend!!!
Good to know!
I know this video is old, but what areas of town would you recommend living in? Or at least which places you should avoid XD
Oh that's a hard question! It's been years since we lived there. I (Sara) lived in an apartment in downtown Raleigh and Chris lived in Apex and Cary. There are a lot of great neighborhoods in RDU!
The rue is key in a good mac and cheese!

They're both great cities! Greenville has more of the small town charm but Raleigh has more amenities and variety in food/entertainment.
Ah, at Morgan Street Food Hall you have to go to Iyla's Southern Kitchen, Gym Tacos or Makus Empanadas.
That sounds so good!
This is really cool 😎 since I live and reside in Raleigh Durham (Cary area).
We used to live in Apex and love that area. Go enjoy some La Farm for us!

We wanted to visit Chapel Hill on this trip but didn't get to. Maybe next time!
I’m from Johnson County and never been to the foo Hall. I haven’t been to the one in Selma and we just had that opened by like five years ago.

I’m disappointed (just kidding), Chris had doughnuts and didn’t to his allergic to nuts joke😂
haha! Don't encourage him! lol
Char grill?

Which city did you like better..Raleigh or Greenville SC?
That's a tough one... they're very similar but also different. I think Greenville has more small town charm but Raleigh has more amenities and variety.
I’ve personally never been to Greenville, SC
Raleigh looks way better in this weather, sunny weather ruins the city.
