Thank you for your reactions on JF your reactions are fantastic and I can see you get it. You get how great this man is. We love him, his voice and his personality.
That peak chorus is amongst the most committed and passionate lines ever delivered by a singer. He didn't just put his soul into it, he wrapped ours in as well.
Maybe TH-cam was always meant to be the vehicle for the rest of the world to discover one of the most talented, most underrated Australian artists ever. John Farnham is a glorious talent.
Never underrated, just under exposed. He did undertake some European touring and usa touring, but missed his home and family life so global touring didn't happen. He has a happy, grounded life with his lovely family, friends, backing singers, band members, and seems to have a real love fest with his fans. Sounds like win win all round. 9.1.24. UK. E❤
I really can't think of much to argue with that. Just...ridiculously good. I was never really a Cold Chisel fan, but this piece has earned new respect from me.
This man John Farnham is perhaps the most amazing singer of all time ! I mean he sings better live than on the bloody record ! He is just insane ! He can sing any style any song, make it his own and usually lift the roof off the building every time. This version is jaw dropping and so emotional i tear up every time. John has the power from above 🙏
I love this version. His voice had matured and he hit those high notes with sooo much power. Chilling performance. This is a Cold Chisel original song.
@@58Kym Nah it’s cold chisel - Steve Preswitch wrote it in 1982 when he was with Cold Chisel- it was on Circus Animals. LRB did a remastered version later on in 1986.
Just freaking beautiful and your reaction made it even more special. Finally people outside of Australia are seeing and hearing this great man's talent.
Im Australian and yet, until I watched your music critiques and reaction videos, I too underestimated the quality of John and Jimmy's voices on the world stage!! Thanks so much for educating us on how good these two singers are!
he's just suffered from throat cancer....we may not hear that amazing wonderful voice again...omg what a loss to the world so much love from Australia xxxxxx
It wasn't cancer in his throat, his voice box is untouched. The cancer was in his jaw/cheek. Removing it all meant he has trouble at the moment opening his mouth wide enough, without pain, to make the sounds he needs and he said that is also how he makes the vibrato. Hopefully one day he can work past that and sing fully around the house again. Not necessary for the public (as much as we would live to hear him), but for himself, as I know he just loves to sing.
I was either at this concert or another night of this tour - the crazy thing about John’s power is that the amplification does almost nothing. It’s ALL him. I was seated one tier up off one side of the stage, and at one point I heard his voice directly. As in, I could hear him OVER the sound system. It was just astonishing.
Incredible, isn't it? Saw him live twice, incredible show. Always entertaining. I know what you mean about the power of his voice, it's like amplification is irrelevant.
I was at one of his tent concerts regionally and he did not need amplification!! Sensational power in his voice, and even after all this time it’s still the most amazing concert EVER!
I think this is the best version of this iconic song. The emotion and passion he puts into it is epic. Even an older John is simply perfect. His diction, range, mic and breath control, his pronunciation is next level.
The best line you’ve ever said in any of your videos to date- “we’ve got to pray on that”. 😂. Yes, this is a Cold Chisel song, and one of the all-time Aussie rock classics. The original is a bit faster than John's live version, but both of them are magnificent! Have loved this beautiful human since I was around 15 ... have been to many concerts ... he has never missed a beat ! ... a consummate entertainer !! ... took my reluctant son when he was 15 (very musical himself) ... ' don't want to see Johnny Farnham !! ' ... Shut up ! already paid for the tickets ... get in the car !!! ... after that night ... all my cds of John disappeared and years later my enlightened son flew from Singapore (living and working) to see the man he was once reluctant to see !! ... this was not combined with any family gatherings ... just for the musician he now truly appreciates !!!! .... :)
I was waiting for you to react to this song… John sing it with such soul… I get goose bumps every time I hear it.
I love your reaction to our great Australian artists, Farnham is a legend, what a voice. I love this reaction and that fact you have embraced some of the best voices in this country...
Get well soon John. You are the voice!
Yes, this is a Cold Chisel song, and one of the all-time Aussie rock classics. The original is a bit faster than John's live version, but both of them are magnificent! John's band is amazing in this performance ... and as for the man himself, what can I say that you haven't already said? One of the finest singers on the planet, period!
Just put the request price up bro.... you deserve it you do a great job... fk waiting to catch mate, just keep growing 😃 kind regards Ben from New Zealand 🇳🇿
And that’s why he is “The Voice”.
I've been a John Farnham fan for over 50 years - seen him live in concert many many times. Just the best performer you'll ever see live in concert.
From Australia ❤
