  • Video games have become the largest and most expansive industry in the world of entertainment. By some estimates, the sector is now worth more than 170 billion US dollars - bigger than the music and movie industries combined. And it's still growing, even amid - or perhaps as a result of a global pandemic that has seen many isolated at home.
There are some three billion gamers around the world, and more than half of those are from the Asia Pacific region. But with the increasing popularity of gaming come mounting concerns over its detrimental effects on mental health, and the abuse and harassment of female gamers. There are also fears that gaming has become a recruiting tool for right-wing extremists.

Many of these gamers became consultants on videos related to military and war.

I predict movies will eventually evolve into the interactive ones a.k.a story-driven video games with hyper-realistic graphics

lol this is sooo stupid. I know none of these people have dealt with kids before, if you take ANY toy away from a kid like that, you'll get a poor reaction.
one of the other great quotes "he can't stop himself from playing videogames... he takes breaks to exercise and do homework"

If someone played soccer for hours on end and practiced it everyday they wouldnt compare it to drug addiction.the boomer energy is really off the charts in this documentary.i can understand some points but this is just super biased.

If a nice gamer and skillful, the gains like Sodexo food, darkside or radical? Not even close. It is knowledgeable of life matters, people can know "if enough time to runaway after knowing the enemies' weapon"(reload), if Glock, difficult to run but soft, but heard it is a nuclear inside it as the actual bullet. If desert eagle is easier to die from it etc.

I get bored in gaming cause keep losing 🤣 What i think is as the children grow older he will start to go work and stop gaming cause all my gaming friends do that as they reach 20 years old . I mean most like 200 players . I have about 200 friends in gaming all within 2 to 3 years only 5 will be online within every week . I think parents can play with them and can understand them more as the time goes by what they need and maybe becoming a youtuber as the same time having a side job . Well as games will get bored very easily so don't be so surprised . All my 200 friends in gaming world say where got time to play game . All working now .

2022 and we still see the same kind of fearmongering around video games as in the 90s...
newsflash : take any segment of the population, and once you have big enough demographics, you will for sure be able to find any kind of people, among which : idiots, nazis, machos, psychopaths and whatnot.
can video games cause addiction issues? sure they can; but so can bodybuilding and a lot of sports which often promote the use of more or less shady products for any of those who wish to be "competitive".
also, it's way too easy for some parents to put blame on video games in general, and more often than not, parenting (or the lack thereof) has a lot to do with how some kids spend so much time on said games. think some random kid with no job could afford a high-end gaming computer and play 10 hours a day by himself?

So video games are bad, but guns are good - American logic.

From your comment, I don't think you understand much about the American society because your brain used to think in an authoritarian way.

More than half of this video dealt with international issues like potential addiction or directly involved non-US persons (the family in Bangkok, etc.)
And absolutely no where did the topic of guns come up. At most the term "shooters" as in the video game genre did, but that's stretching it.
In summary: you seem REALLY fixated on some message that isn't there, all to dunk on a common American stereotype.
      Kinda sad

  • @Gamble4545

The sad part is all these new games are truly awful. How do people play Fortnite for hours on end? Dungeon keeper, the original Mario bros, fallout new vegas were fun diversions and excellent in many aspects. The real crime here is all these games are terrible and no one is smart enough to know how terrible they are. Twitch? Discord? So incredibly lame. Good lord.
