Aldrin Davis...."DJ Toomp" I see you Bruh! I remember when we were in the 6th grade together talking about you doing music professionally, you made it Bruh. So proud of you....my Dude since 1981. 💯
Thats my homeboy,DJ Toomp! Very proud of you dude. I remember you making mix tapes with other starting DJs like Frank, when we were at Bunche Middle School. Then you teamed up with Rahim the Dream for Eliminator, which I still have,LOL. Then with Poison Clan,Brother Maquis of 2 Live Crew,TIP and others. Keep up the good work mane. Keep repping ATL
I can't stand some of the elitist bastards that post negativity on here. Toomp is nice it doesn't matter how rare a record is dope is dope. So what you have a rare record, would you like a cookie? People are just mad they're not Toomp and they have to go back to their miserable lives while Toomp produces for Nas, Jay, and Tip
Hi Sam, Toomp is a friend of mine and I think what he meant was that until that record hit, it wasn't a "national" thing since that was played on so many stations. Even though it has been happening for a while, it wasn't "heard" by many until then. My cousin is Chris "The Glove" Taylor ("Reckless", co-producer of Snoop's first album, etc.) and he has said the same so I don't think he meant any disrespect:)
Anyone know what the track is at the beginning of the "When did it all start" section? Sounds like Nu Shooz - I Can't Wait base line but with a unique sound.
Say he ain’t got records? Lol the man is rich... he has records that are near and dear to him or either that he used for production... but he is a real life ole school southern dj/producer so he’s been at this for a long time... spinning before serato, making beats, etc... just because he isn’t a weirdo that hoards polish records lmfao y’all call the whole episode bad... we don’t do all that in the south...
No disrespect bcuz he is a reputable DJ & Producer but DJn & backspinning came out YEARS b4 RUN DMC or any rap record..Umm I'm from the Bronx & I was doing it in 77' on SLB 210's and buying breaks from Elroy @ Downstairs Records so let's just get it right for the record.
Hahah Eyelashes going grey. That is funny. You may be right, but i will respectfully disagree ok man. There are a number of things it may be. A skin tag often grows right there. Anyway man, have a good day.
I had to unsubcribe to the fuse channel because of all the other content was not worth filling up my subscription box everyday, so what i do now is just check from to week to week for crate diggers.
DJ Toomp is one of the greatest southern hip hop producers, incredibly underrated and underappreciated.
