I've been learning SOO MUCH from these VIDS, i'm Very GRATEFUL, Thank You
"Before Dilla Pete Rock was Jesus Christ" LMAO for a minute.
This is mellow Shoes most that know him or about him in the D knows he more or less has the pass to go anywhere. He was hella cool with anybody in the hip hop scene there Proof of course, He brought Elzhi, Guilty Simpson etc to J to work with. So he gets mad props even though he was initially a kid from Southfield. I remember i went to sell him some wacky and he had a record and was like "you know what that is" i'm like nah..he played the sh8t i'm like ok...then he put his finger on the record and moved that shit backwards slow... sample for 93 Till Finity Souls of Mischief. And everytime i copped a album from Street Corner Music he'd throw me a album like peep this one dog its some shit on there...and sure as shit stinks it was
lol dude's my homegirl's step dad, I've been to his apartment
dude's collection is dope
Good to see you doing your thing. Never knew about those double sided instrumentals. Crazy!
thank you for another great episode!
If House Shoes got a weekly special, I'd watch it. Good stuff!
House Shoes is the man. He knows his s*** 100%, honest guy and not afraid to speak his mind. This video was really interesting, thanks!
This one woke me up. I wish they made more vids like this.
What a legend! I've got some House Shoes production on test press, sent to me by Common Ground years back. Peace from the UK.
Great episode of one of our favorite series. Much love for the Dennis Coffey LP shout-out. Shoes killed that mix.
Lotta ppl hating here as always. Shoes did release Dilla's first ever EP, u guys know that right?
how can people actually hate on this video??? or the entire series???? spotify,I tunes,mp3 assholes I bet. haha
J ward shoes also disrespected Ma Dukes (Dilla’s Mom). Luckily she went to court when he started talking more shit.
No one’s even hatin. It’s just 56 people
@Ole Carlos piss off dickhead
Mad Props to Shoes... Joy & Pain... Classic.
Please, please make more of these!!!!
When he exhaled as he told the dude his records were stolen..i felt that so hard
He right anit nothing like owning physical copies of a music collection, you can sit and become apart of the music you're listening to read the information about the artists, producers, writer's the whole nine. CD's, records and cassette tapes are classic formats for music ever💯💯
shouts to house shoes for using the 45 adapter as a chain
Excellent interview yo!!!
I was at record time digging for records with a couple of friends one day and house shoes was working. He was on the phone with someone and said something like "nothing but amateurs up here." My friend called him out when he hung up the phone and he just started back peddling and saying "I wasn't talking about you guys." He always came across as full of himself to me. I went to melodies and memories more often because their record room was way better. Jeff Woodward used to hook me up with all the new stuff and stuff he knew I would like. He remembered me and what I liked and was humble and cool as fuck. Fuck House shoes.
The real stories. Love it b
great episode...respect to Shoes, Fuse really needs to holler at Thes One.
Now I gotta go watch 8 Mile just to see Shoes lol.
Love Shoes!

I don't know this dudes music at all but when he said Amp Fiddler he was instantly cool in my book. P-Funk in the house... shoes.
Where is the explicit version of this?
lol. i remember mayer hawthorne saying something about kid rock being a good dj in one of his interviews.
Please do Nujabes!!
🙏
this guy looks cool
whats the danny brown song he talked about at 5:03?
has the origin of this guys name got anything to do with the track 'House Shoes' off the Bar Kay's 1967 album 'Soul Finger'?
Reminds me of BONK!
i just got schooled on this dude didnt know about him
Dilla died in '06, and they did one about him.

Yeah... fools are hitting heads out here for that Archie Whitewater record.
I was lucky enough to find my copy for a little less than $100.

Anyone know who Dez is?
@jasandoval7433
Thanks man.
Stay on the hunt!
I got REALLY lucky with that find and my guy who runs the place even gave me a $10 discount!
Amp Fiddler 👍🏻
If someone burnt Shoes' House down then he wouldn't have shit
This would be a dope show and they could get Bobbito or someone to host it.
Ha i have that Bo Hansson Record =D
you carry we bury Hah hah ha.
That was funny on a few levels. But since my mood changes and yours doesn't I have little strength to bicker with you over small details. I am glad you do well with the ladies. I usually make derogatory remarks and try to be cheeky so I do not post a pic, but, credit to you as you have courage to do so. Yes, I am not pulling in the women lately. But, I do not listen to bad music and why are you likening House Shoes to WillIAM? Is there not one crate digger that you like?
He might struggle with the ladies from here on out. Public doxxing is no fun, why hang out with a murderous heart?
Here's the famous "Uncle Shoes" calling innocent high school kids:
"Fire on the maga cocksuckers. On sight."
"Lock the kids in the school and burn that bitch to the ground."
These kids did nothing at all to warrant this type of commentary from a grown man. Hey dickhead, are you in the LA area. I'm zeroing in on you. When are you playing at Club Tee Gee again? Hope that works out for you.
Club Tee Gee:
3210 Glendale Blvd, Los Angeles, CA 90039
Enjoy your music.
He is not a very modest dude but he does have a few reasons for that.
I think it's funny that people watch something called crate diggers and then get their feelings hurt when someone is honest about the hard work, time and money put into their collections. There is nothing wrong with not being a crate digger but there is something wrong with not respecting the quality of physical tools that go into pursuing your art form. Unless you are sponsored by google I wouldn't feel to proud about acting knowledgeable based on other peoples research.
I don't see how Elzhi doesnt have as much notability as Em does.Ecspecially since Houseshoes and El are close.and so is Royce. What the heck?!
Elzhi Royce Eminem the holy trinity of Detroit emcees and 3 of the illest lyricists EVER period from anywhere!
Elzhi def deserves way more shine! Part of it is he’s kind of a recluse and super soft spoken. He dealt with depression for a 4-5 year run also and was out of the game.
Sadly Elzhi is one of many criminally slept on super duper dope emcees.
a few records being stolen or broken amounts to losing your entire collection on a harddrive?
obviously he didnt illustrate the point he was really trying to make, which is probably the same thing that all great crate diggers would say. " physical copy collections > digital copy collections"
i saw that danny brown
F for the guy editing and cutting all the cursewords from the video
this guy was in 8 mile
Because it's Fuse.
He looks like my uncle
FCC stands for -- Fuckin Chino's Crazy
yea, you should of seen him in the last episode at least
Man I can't believe he brought up kid rock. Kid rock is so dam talented. The dude is sick. That vinyl he had was his first album and honestly only got a few good songs but everything after is great. He made one dam country album and that's all shoes knows lol.
14:22 or a flood
OH. FUCK. YES/
You do realise that Nujabes died in 2010 right?
He is my friends cousin.
do people actually care if its not censored? i dont..dont hurt me none at all
Is this the dude from Lady Frankenstein movie? Same head
HaHa Haaaaaaaaa! Your calling me corny? You are clueless!
Yeah but he had a good 7000 back at his house.
BUY RECORDS.....DO NOT STEAL THEM... EVEN THE SO SO RECORDS DESERVE SOME LOOT.
SO DO PEOPLE ACTUALLY LISTEN TO RECORDS BECAUSE THEY CONTAIN MUSIC OR BECAUSE THEY WERE SAMPLED BY SOME HIP HOP DJ OR ARE EXPENSIVE OR VERY RARE TO COME BY COMING FROM A MUSIC FAN I REALLY GET LOST IN THESE SERIES I DONT KNOW
why is this censored? do people actually care that much?
I bet dat j dilla sction is worth sum series cash probs worth more than the rest ov his shit like the busta electra promo just e bay or discogs the ting crazy money but if I had the cash I would buy it in a heart beat r.i.p.j dilla
HaHa well at least you have a sense of humor. Hip Hop is not even my favorite genre of music, I listen to everything. I really enjoy the Crate Diggers episodes and personally I didn't enjoy the House Shoes episode and thought he came off a little corny. I really enjoyed the Diamond D episode, Pete Rock, PB Wolf, Lord Finesse, Jazzy Jeff, Ben Blackwell etc... I listen to a lot of underground rock and a lot of dudes in the scene don't respect hip hop as an art form but I've always respected it.
Lol why everybody hate houseshoes?
I like how he goes from not respecting digital collectors and saying, "If you drop your hard drive, you ain't got sh_t", to telling a story about himself dropping and breaking a valuable record. And also saying, "If somebody steals your computer, you ain't got sh_t", after talking about losing records in a carjacking.
Or maybe he's being intentionally ironic, I dunno.
But he only loses one record if he drops it or whatever is in the car? You don't lose the whole collection is his point, I think.
It's funny that he says if somebody steals your computer you ain't shit, yet he was carjacked for 150 records.
HaHa Haaaaaaaaa! Your calling me corny? You are clueless dude!
