    Very good presentation! You have helped me understand why my Brixton 125cc has a problem with intermittent acceleration (i.e., sometimes there is a bit of torque, sometimes it is very lethargic). I suspected the ECU was the issue - or at least in that area of the electronics. The dealership/mechanics have been no help to me and seem completely uneducated in the product they sell. Perhaps the exhaust sensor is faulty, or the ECU itself. I would like to find out so it can be corrected. I have no real wish to create more HP or Torque in my Brixton, but consistent performance would be welcome. Thanks for your excellent presentation of this information - very educational for those of us who like DIY theory. Cheers, TH

    Dear @D3Sshooter
    I've bought a modified ECU for my brixton bx125x from Aracer and you can modify all the stats (from the quantity of gasoline going in the engine, until the backfire from the exhaust). If it could be useful for one of your future videos share you email down this comment.

    Hi very interesting video. Informative even to someone dumb in math as me, I have a problem myself tbh. I own a Brixton 125 Sk8, and it has only 2000 km on it so far, all is fine I know cause of the big whells and tyres it is gonna be a slow bike. When I rev in with medium throttle mostly there is a hole in power between 6000-8000 Rpm. The bike stops reving smoothly for that 2k Rpm it slows down and picks up again at 8000 Rpm. This mainly happens when I run the bike on average throttle for a day or two. If I run the bike constantly on hi Rpm this shows up less often. I went on the mechanic that imports Brixton in my country (Kawasaki dealership) for my 1000km service and to check for the issue. They told me they didn't find anything, which tells me that either they are incompetent or they just didn't care enough to do a proper test ride long enough with average throttle to see it happen. What are your thoughts? Thank you in advance

    • @D3Sshooter
      @D3Sshooter  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      That is strange, and it seems to me that one of the sensors is not picking up the right signal and hence the ECU is badly informed and does not increase the demand for fuel... This could be the gas throttle position sensor, the Lambda sensor on the exhaust, the Mass Airflow or Manifold air pressure sensor. Those would be the most obvious problem makers. Yet, that should be recorded in the ECU and show up when the error codes a read out of the ECU... Ask your dealer to read the ECU codes .... I have a video on it .. If anything is wrong with the sensors , then it will be logged.... The last thing that could be wrong is the injector solenoid . For the rest there is little that can be wrong , unless you have a faulty ECU, but that would show as well. It seems that your dealer is not really taking your issue seriously . Good luck

    • @giorgiodoe3257
      @giorgiodoe3257 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      D3Sshooter ty for your quick answer, the bike has not the engine check light on so probablu it hasn't recorded any error. The problem occurs only when I use the bike in mid range conditions for a while, when I am using it constantly close to the higher revs that problem appears less often

    Maybe it would be possible to trick the ECU through the lamba sensor by adding a small resistance ?

    • @D3Sshooter
      @D3Sshooter  6 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Guillaume Pinson that is just one sensor and yes potential that could be an offset to shift the AirFuel ratio working point into a more make believe lean mixture and hence the injection would become a bit more rich. Yet , it might work to some extent but is rather static and might cause high idle and DTC’s

    • @darioledda9128
      @darioledda9128 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I think I tricked my brixton into thinking It has low air/fuel ratio by doing a thingh not on purpose. I once took off the exhaust to repaint It, and putting It back on again I forgot a small insignificant ring that was between the cilinder and the exhaust(After the cilinder but before the lambda sensor). Of course it's much louder and explodes more, but that's because the gases go out directly from that gap. So i think that in this way the lamda sensor rilevate a low air/fuel rate and tells the ECU to give more

    Great video and awesome analysis! I've been looking into the same but for a Mash (similar if not equal platform), ideally we would need ignition advance control, we're you able to find info about changing the ECU maps?

    • @D3Sshooter
      @D3Sshooter  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Álison Fernandes i think that the mash has the same delphi ecu. Have look under the saddle there should be a block with a big greu and black connector with a MTo5 label. Ii am wotking on retracting the map and analysing it. Once i have access to the parameters i can place the bike on a dynamo bench and test the power etc while changing the map. But that is still a bit of work. Soon i will post something. Good luck with the mash

      Yes, same ecu. How are you connecting to it? I've found BitBox tunning software and after reading Delphi manual, there should be a USB connector that enables you to connect using some old software called Delco PCHUD. Do you have this connector? Third link seems to be the connector.

    So I've been thinking : All these Chinese 125s use a copy of a suzuki gn 125 engine. What's interesting is that if you look on aliexpress for gn 125 tuning there is a 150 cc kit, different camshaft etc. Installing these would help right?

    • @D3Sshooter
      @D3Sshooter  6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      DeadlySin2606 , txs. Well that is always an option . I do know that they have a 150 for the Asian market. The problem you will face is that the ECU will need remapping. And so far i could not crack the map access. More CC and camshaft alters thr mixture quantity and timing for the injection and ignition. Without that new fuel map. It is not going to work

Als je de 'Power' op het maximum afstelt zonder een compromis te maken met de andere twee elementen. En kan dat dan eenvoudig gedaan worden? Vraag me af hoeveel meer je er zou kunnen uithalen... Guillaume Pinson txs and indeed it uses the mto5 -2 ecu from delphi. That should support the K line. And also the CAN bus on the diagnostics connector. I am going to use my own developed pid scanner based on OBD2. Normally the standard pids need to be supported. The problem will to get the fuelmap read out, interpret it and then build a new one with gradual changes. I will have the bike on a dynamo bench while changing. All by all a hard job. I just got a spare ECU. Getting the fuelmap might not be that hard as we think as there are flashers and loaders already on other bikes and cars with a delphi ecu. It is going to be trial and error. But will keep you all posted how i progress
