Watching this again is so heartbreaking. Miss Dad so much. He was the best ever. I remember watching him after his first mate disappeared, and there was one egg that she had laid. He stayed with it for so long waiting for her to come back. Because of hunger and cold he finally had to leave. He was such a loyal and loving Dad and mate to Mom. I don't think there will ever be another Decorah Dad like him. These two were the perfect pair. Forever missing you Decorah Dad.

It is refreshing to see not only your compassion for this pair, but Eagles in general. Life in Iowa is sometimes tough, but so are these Eagles. Great comeback in our state, and it is a joy to watch these 3 young, move on to be a part of the celebration. I cannot thank you enough, for being a part of the journey.
I wish I had seen Dad Decorah too. I only discovered this cam in May 2019 and have been following the nest until the day the cam was turned off, but I have been watching all available videos. I cried when I watched the commemorative clip.
glad to see this. have watched them for years.. the guy who now does the cam enlisted not only volunteers but the whole local Fire Dept to search for dad when it became evident he was missing. thus far, no luck. good to see that last day.
