Why would they bring it up when it wasn't even relevant? This is basically the equivalent of a racist attacking a black guy on the street because he's afraid he'd get mugged.
Only reason I'm watching this video is because I was recently bitten by a dog. I knock doors for a living, and a significant number of pet owners do not have control over their pets. It's dangerous for the dogs too. I've seen dogs dart out of the house and run into oncoming traffic. Recently a Stafford Bull Terrier got loose and bit me twice. The lady barely even tried to stop it. Puts me in a real awkward position too. I didn't even fully defend myself because I'm not trying to attack the dog in front of its owner. I wish I had kicked it in its face. Damn dog deserved it. The dog owners just don't care. They know the dog isn't going to bite them and they don't give a shit if the dog bites you. I probably should have taken this lady to court. I had to go to the ER. I don't blame this utility worker at all.
My mother did door to door sales and one dog jumped into a plate glass window and got all cut up. sucks to be that dumbass dog. Some animal owners are horrible assholes who need to be bitten themselves so they understand what they are doing to others by not restraining their mutts.
This is what worries me. My only chance is to stop the beast BEFORE it bites me. If it locks onto me, it's already too late. I basically have to strike first. Then I have to fear the owner and the law. It shouldn't be this way.
I've been bitten twice doing utility work. I love dogs and most are great, but there are too many entitled people that think their dangerous dogs are YOUR responsibility. I'll be getting some spray for aggressive dogs because my safety is more important than an untrained animal and it's better than a hammer.

I think she should be grateful that I showed restraint in a moment of threat to my body and/or life. But, irresponsible dog owners are that way, it's never their fault that their dogs run around uncontrolled and bite/threaten people. I bought some pepper spray that I will deploy as soon as they are close enough to hit and then the gun comes out if they don't back off.
NO- they didn't - they trespassed onto private property knowing the dog was present. What they should have done was knock on the door and say "please bring in the dog so we can do what we need to do". This was animal abuse in the classic sense. Technically the worker could have been subject to arrest for criminal trespass as well as animal abuse.
You sure don't understand what "the right thing" is, do you? Those dogs were of no immediate danger to him. If he needed access to the yard, he should have knocked on the door and asked them to put the dogs up. Always carry police-grade pepper spray if you might encounter a hostile dog. No dog on this simulated planet can withstand it and will be destroyed from a single spray
This is indeed interesting as the Tulsa Police Department's policy states that O.C. spray is not reliably effective on dogs as to constitute a defense against an animal attack in the first place, and authorizes officers to use a firearm as a first-line defense against a dog.
Doesn't the kind owner think that the life of a utility worker is worth more than half an hour of pain for a dog? Yes, the dog was behind the fence. But it could have jumped over it in one second. And it probably would have. If the kind owner wants to avoid such atrocities, either don't keep a pittbull or build a proper fence. Because, when the trouble happens, afterwards they always say, "I don't understand. He's never bitten anyone before..." Idiots.
those dogs would have been barking at utility worker, obviously he did the spray for self defense what if dog jumps out of fence. Seriously, dog is more important than a man?
Why? They are in their yard. I mean, he didn't even ask the owner to restrain the dogs. There are a lot of ways to solve this, but attacking them in their home is like a person coming and pepper spraying you because you are a potential danger but not an active danger.
you must have the iq of a pea in what way were those dogs attacking him behind a fence after he decided to approach the fence to pepper spray them for barking at a stranger on their property?
My neighbor has two hunting dogs that he lets wonder wherever they want. No matter how many times he’s been told, cops have issued their warnings, he continues to let them do whatever they want to anyone’s property. Careless dog owners make bad neighbors.

Yeah, you are notified that workers will be on your property and you still allow your aggressive dogs to be out. Btw this is coming from a dog lover. You were alerted by the company and yet you couldn’t be bothered to not have your dogs out for a 2 hour time span. Plus if you think it was bad when you petted your dogs and then rubbed your eyes… just think about the pain your dogs went through because you couldn’t be bothered to remember that a service was going to be preformed on your property between a 2 hour time window ffs! You are at fault 100%! ONE HUNDRED PERCENT!!!
I'd agree with you if they were showing literally any sign of aggression or attempting to get out. You can't assault someone because they "might" 🤦♀ You know what is a good way to turn a dog defensive or aggressive? Harming it out of nowhere
It’s because you don’t have a job that puts you at risk with aggressive dogs. The guy probably has been bitten by dogs before and has some ptsd. I say this from my own experience.
Well, this is a tough case. I don't know if I would have sprayed the dogs first. I would have went to the front door and asked the owner to put the dogs away. As a former carpet cleaner I had an employee attacked by a dog. Tore her clothes off and could have easily killed her. If I had pepper spray the dog would have been hit hard with it. People need to wake up. There are far too many aggressive dangerous dogs. Especially pitbulls. Pitbulls only make up about 6% of the dog population, but they account for 60% of all fatal dog attacks. They are a useless breed and should be outlawed.

Not quite- even the police generally can't enter private property (even if they have a warrant) without first knocking and anouncing. (the exception being when a judge issues a "no-knock warrant") Thus, city employees whom are not law enforcement officers must "knock and announce" before entering the property. If the individual was employed by a private utility company, their case only deteriorates from there, because any "agreement by default" to let a private company employee onto the property is null and void in the context of criminal law, because a contract does not negate the requirements of criminal law. (Meaning I can still arrest a non-city utility worker for criminal trespass, regardless of what the utility contract says.) Therefore, the worker here is probably guilty of criminal trespass as well as animal abuse if the worker knew the animal was present and entered anyways. This is because of the fact that the law of self defense requires retreat if it is safe do so, and also requires "avoidance" of animals where possible.

@@kristianperez4108 Have you never seen an aggressive dog in the world?
@@PauloNideck I have, and I've also seen plenty of not agressive dogs too
Only reason I'm watching this video is because I was recently bitten by a dog.
Next time, kill the dog if it attacks you. These people with aggressive dogs need to wake up.
I hear that bear spray (not just pepper spray) works very well.... but yeah, you should've beaten the shit outta that dog. I totally support that.
Perspective: would you rather your dogs get peppersprayed to avoid an injury? Or would you rather your dogs jump the fence, injure the worker, and you get sued?

Not quite- even the police generally can't enter private property (even if they have a warrant) without first knocking and anouncing. (the exception being when a judge issues a "no-knock warrant") Thus, city employees whom are not law enforcement officers must "knock and announce" before entering the property. If the individual was employed by a private utility company, their case only deteriorates from there, because any "agreement by default" to let a private company employee onto the property is null and void in the context of criminal law, because a contract does not negate the requirements of criminal law. (Meaning I can still arrest a non-city utility worker for criminal trespass, regardless of what the utility contract says.)
Therefore, the worker here is probably guilty of criminal trespass as well as animal abuse if the worker knew the animal was present and entered anyways. This is because of the fact that the law of self defense requires retreat if it is safe do so, and also requires "avoidance" of animals where possible.
