Great recipe!! It has been centuries!! since I've eaten bialys...going to the Jewish diners in Miami Beach it was such a pleasure...so now I'll get to enjoy them again:) Thank you, Chef, good health to you.

As far as I know, bialys are Polish and bagels are the Jewish, more labour intensive version to make. I like bagels well enough, but never bothered to make them. Once I made bialys, and they are so easy, I was hooked and much prefer them anyway.

So well done! Not a coincidence that I looked for a bialys recipe to make and taste for the very first time and I discover this masterpiece! Baruch Hashem Y. Looking forward to making these! Got a new subscriber here. Shalóm from Puerto Rico.

Shalom, greetings from Israel🇮🇱. Does anybody know, if perhaps, the origin of the Bialy and it's name is from the city of Bialistok, eastern europe, where there was a big Jewish Population, before ww2?

I believe they are polish but there are many similarities to other breads in that region so who knows !

They are definitely Polish. I love them, where ever they originated from. Had meant to try my hand at bagels someday, but once I made these, I just love them so much and they are easy. I've made the traditional Polish filling of onion, poppy seed and bread crumbs. Good enough, but my favourite twist was: garden herbs like basil, chives, parsely, whatever I had really and tomato w/ garlic. Everyone loved those the best.
