I also love birds singing. Here in Minnesota we have a lot of wrens and its like a concert in your back yard. I use to make wren bird houses, its a small bird if the hole is to big others take over. Yes I agree not to nail the door on the out house. Think most people would appreciate an out house that doing business anywhere in the woods for someone to step on. That red bird was beautiful. Your path is full of rocks to step over. That's hard work. That is beautiful rock formation. Its unbelieavible how the beauty we have in America. Thanks for your hard work.

I stayed at rustic campsite #4 last year, it has some cool rock formations although they seem to be all over. I came prepared with a shovel but the soil there is so hard, luckily I didn't need to use it. There was also a bobcat barking at my tent every night.

Thanks for doing the steps for me WW, to a very beautiful place! That shelter looks prime for Native camping. Many don't realize that they would travel great distances trading and the like and staying at places just like this one. When I lived in mountains of Kentucky my friends showed me a rock shelter similar to this one. They would go on a several day trip in search of ginseng. This was quite a few years back. There were four guys and they all had a good place to sleep. One of the men kept hearing a rattle snake and all night. It seemed. He said it woke him up a few times. He'd take his light and look but couldn't see anything. In the morning he found the source. On a small rock ledge about 2 feet from his head where he was sleeping was a rattle snake. Unusual for him was the fact that he didn't kill it, he didn't like snakes. But he told his friends that if that snake was good enough not to bite him all through the night, he wasn't going to bother him. After asked,he said he slept pretty well. But had he spotted it during the night, I wonder what would have happened then? I personally love snakes. In fact I put my flasher on just this morning on my way to town. A six foot black snake was across the road and I didn't want to see him run over, as I've seen far too many times. It was the second time I got him to crawl into the field away from the road. It is a fairly non busy road but I have seen people purposely run them over and even go out of their way to run over a snake or animal. A VERY Shameful thing to do! So Many Thanks WW! Much appreciated! More Huffy Hikes into the Heights where you can be High without drugs! DaveyJO
