Extremely Creepy And Gross ABANDONED 1960's Home

  • In this episode of Urban Exploring, I will be taking you for a tour through this very interesting backsplit home that was built in 1964, and appears to have been ABANDONED for several years now. Located on a large property within the city, this home is part of a group of homes slated to be demolished and redeveloped into condos. This home has a wonderfully secluded backyard, and a beautiful walk in greenhouse attached to the side of the house. Inside, the home retains much if it's 1960s charm and features. Sadly the many years of abandonment and neglect have taken their toll on the home, now the water and mold damage have started to take over as the home heads into a state of advanced decay. Join me for a tour of this wonderful but now gross home from the 60's!

    From reading the comments I'll call this one~
    "The House of Chop"
    I'm not sure about this one, with it's CHOPPY floor plan maybe it was custom built by a fool for fools. I'll guess that was the living room at the front with the "office" door. I belive some of the interior doors were salvaged from elsewhere.
    Tear it down quick, I won't miss it.
    Thanks for the tour Greg!
    Stayin Tuned! 👍🤠
    Notes:
    1:58 I sincerly belive the arch was added in the mid 70's.
    8:52 I don't care much for slim kitchens, two people cannot work without getting in each other's way.
    10:44 A phone jack in a cabinet, odd, maybe for an answering machine but there's no electric.
    13:26 Lol, there's a few oddities in this house I've noticed.
    15:03 Yes, an original fixture with original dirt.
    15:18 I kind of like it, I've a feeling the toilet isn't original, the original would've been green to match the tub and sink.
    22:48 The further you go the stranger things get, I belive this is a throw hole for moving large items into the basement that won't fit around the corner.
    25:08 Liquor cabinet is my weak guess, shelves are missing.
    27:12 Yes, probably my favorite room in the whole house also, even with panes of glass missing.
    28:10 Ma had Pa put that in when Junior got caught red handed.
    (Joke aside, I belive this was home hospice care.)
    36:21 Just don't scratch it then pick your nose and you'll be ok.

      Hey John! It's choppy, it's a maze, it's a strange place! I think the doors were salvaged for sure, many seemed very old to me! Thank you for being there as always john and of course for your notes for everybody to enjoy!

    I think this house had a garage on both sides originally.
    Since from the inside, it doesn’t look original it looks like it was converted.
    The older doors they are definitely from a late 1800 farm house, either they were added or the original owners put them in when they built this house in the 60s.
    Below zero mould isn’t as harmful.

    • @UncappedFilms
      @UncappedFilms  10 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Hey Arednecks' life! Thanks for checking this one out, I agree with you, l think a garage was on both sides and one was converted to living space. Those older doors are pretty neat eh?? I loved some of the light fixtures. It’s a shame they will just be bulldozed, but the green bathtub and sink and the purple bathroom, those are definitely original. I think the curtain thing that was in the one bedroom was to give somebody privacy. Maybe they were old andto get changed as in diapers or whatever and so I think that was deliberately put there, but it was weird. I found the kitchen was on the small side, which I was actually surprised. I thought it would be a lot larger. Very retro retro. As always, you did a fantastic job.

      @UncappedFilms  10 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Hey Kathi!! Some of the lights were very nice right? I think you're right about that curtain in the bedroom. The kitchen was very small, but to me, that is kinda typical of that era of homes. I appreciate you checking it out as always, thank you Kathi!

    What a cozy house. I love these different living levels and the bay window.
    Bay windows like this are very, very rare to find here in Germany.
    I wish my apartment had such a cozy place to look out and enjoy the view.
    The one room with the curtain and the sink in the closet has something of a doctor's exam room.
    Great find and video Greg. 👍☺️

    I had so much fun in the live chat that I got lost in the home😂
    Definitely going to rewatch, but from what I saw, I loved the winter wonderland outside😊 The green bathroom was actually really neat. I wouldn't mind it, if I'd bought a home that had one.
    The home had a lot of rooms and levels (which are some of my favorite explores)!

    Sorry I missed the live. I'm on my nightshift rotation this week and next. Great 60s house! Both bathrooms were like stepping back in time with their cool great colors and retro features. The only thing the upstairs bathroom was missing was a green toilet to match the other green fixtures. The door KNOBS upstairs were the same ones that were on the doors in our house when we bought it. Very cool That roll up door in the rec room was bizarre. I don't know what it was protecting/hiding. One can only guess. I love the homes from the 60s and 70s! They bring me back to when I was a kid. Thanks for bringing us along on this walk back in time! Your explores are always a blast!!

    What an interesting maze of a house!
    17:00 I'm pretty certain that that's a replacement toilet. The original would have been green to match the tub and sink....just as with the purple fixtures in the basement bathroom.
    28:40 it used to be very common to have a sink in each bedroom. It helped to keep the bathrooms clear for other purposes than merely brushing your teeth, or washing your face. However, having said that, I'm also getting a feeling that that room may have had a medical purpose.

    The house had a really weird design to it. Kind of messed up The only things I really liked in that home was the bathrooms, the olive green one that is totally '70s and the purple big time. The only thing with the bathrooms is the white toilet in the olive green one. That's a replacement cuz it should have been green as well as the tub and sink. But wow that mold in that place is something else. Oh and by the way, Ethan scared the s*** out of me when you put the camera on him lol😂😂 this was a cool adventure just to say. Thanks again

Those bathrooms were the coolest thing to me, I didn't actually notice the white toilet while filming, but you have a point there. The green toilet would have been awesome to see! The mold isn't even close to the worst I've filmed either, you'd be shocked at a couple of places I did last year. The kitchen seemed extremely tight. It looked like you could hardly turn around and definitely only one person could work in there at a time. Wow, you were not wrong when you said "creepy and gross". They must've had roof issues seeing all that ceiling damage and the curved curtain in the bedroom with the roughed in sink makes me think who was there, needed medical / nursing assistance.
    A very interesting video about a home that was once much loved, and then fell into decay. Great video, Be safe .

      Hey Don! Yeah it was pretty creepy and gross the further down into the house I got right? I would assume since it hasn't been lived in for a few years, the roof started to fail and once the water / weather does it's thing, everything accelerated rather quickly.. I think you're definitely right that somebody needed assistance. I'm very happy that you enjoyed this one and it kept you engaged! I hope you will be back for more content, and sorry for the slow reply!

    interesting, weird then just plain gross house lmao. that basement was so chopped up it was crazy then you got all those colours of mold looks like some kid went crazy with the markers lol. the room with the curtain for around your bed reminded me of a hospital room an with havin the sink there too like for clean up. first i was thinking this area could have been an apartment with having its own entrace but there was no kitchen or sign of there ever being one.

      Hey Sparks!! I think interesting weird and gross describe this house accurately lol.. The whole house was chopped, I'm curious now if it was always like that.. Many people have pointed that out. Some suggested that room with the curtain might have been for some in house treatment... Maybe right? Yeah I don't think this had apartments or rented spaces in it, but maybe it did at one time?? Thanks for being there with us as always!!

    We bought a house with small second kitchen in the basement in 2021. We redid the upstairs kitchen and put in a $6,000+ oven. This video made me laugh because the house has a “Spectra” oven and this is the brand of oven we have in our basement that everyone prefers to bake in because it is better than the one upstairs!!!!!!! 🤔. We kept saying why doesn’t everyone have these Spectra ovens, where do they come from 😂.

    • @UncappedFilms
      @UncappedFilms  10 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Hey Butterfly Girl!! That is a funny story actually, I never heard of spectra ovens before.. I wonder if they are pretty good, or just good for the money? Funny how it is preferred over your nicer expensive oven.. LOL. Life can be funny sometimes.. Thank you so much for watching and sharing that with me, I hope you'll be back for another!
