0:39 what i liked about this scene is this tiny detail. At first i was wondering why he was checking all those trees, that he had obviously marked. Then, at this point, I realized. The bear was marking the trees, as if to expand his territory, and Logan was checking them to cover the bear's marks with his own, as if saying: "Nope. This turf is mine, bear". It makes the interaction with the bear funnier, because then Logan's face seems to say: "Morning, bear. See you were traspassing..., as usual", and the bear is like: "Yeah, well... Can't blame me for trying, right?", and ends up taking a piss when Logan's not looking, as if saying: "Men, f%$k this pretentious piece of..."
I've read that a bear would mark the tree higher to show its dominate . i think wolverine marked it at the same hght to show it was even between them and he accepted they'd both get hurt so live and let live .
@@oldfart5063 If it wasn't for his healing factor, I think the bear would absolutly win. However I think they would be evenly matched without his adamantium skeleton. Wolverine's strength is hard to calculate sometimes. Although he can preform impressive feats of strength even with the added weight of the skeleton, it's inconsistant. They make a point of showing that Wolverine is a heavy motherfucker with that skeleton, and he has to carry around that added weight like it's nothing. It would be different if it was natural body weight, but it's not. My theory is that most of his strength is going to his own body weight, which is still impessive since he can still preform impressive feats of strength, but it's nothing too impossible. If you take away the skeleton, he can probably carry a bear over his shoulders with little struggle. Bears are typically 800 lbs of natural body weight, they are fucking tanks. So I would say if you take away the healing factor AND the adamantium skeleton, it's an evenly matched fight.

During the beginning scenes of this movie before he went to Japan it really felt like a Wolverine movie, where he’s truly solo and no origins nonsense. This out of the three is my favorite because it really does the soloness of Wolverine justice.
I'm watching the xmen movies in release order after watching the deadpool movies in preparation for Deadpool x Wolverine coming out. I still have not gotten to Logan yet. I think I liked Xmen origins a little bit more overall, but The Wolverine had some of the better highlights imo.

Wolverine is empathic. He can feel and communicate with animals on an emotional lvl. He has had wolf friends, feral cat friends, genetically engineered animal wolf human hybrids as friends. And bears. He has had deers come up to him for protection. Animals tend to trust him.

Shows that Wolverine can be more at home among wild animals than people. Pretty sure in the comics he had the ability to talk to them in some capacity
