RIP Keith Yoong...it was your videos then that enable us to access most of the songs by The Strollers. With the advent of technology, you can now get the complete works of The Srollers on Spotify. But you did it for us at a time when some songs and groups are hard to look for.
my all time favourite band saturdays at mandolin pub... i treasure and feel honoured to have been called 'friend' by the great billy cheng. strollers, simply put -international standards!!!!... Parents, please impress upon your young ones this piece of malaysian history, I beg you...car stereo/ home cd player/ sneak it onto their phones hahaha... I personally pray this Music and the members of this Band in years to come will go down alongside all recognized antiquity of our land . dato'ship nomination???( said facetiously hahaha) Viva strollers!!!!
keith, while I was listening to the Strollers, I just remembered an album that my parents had when I was small. It could be a S'pore or a M'sian band. The only songs that I can recall are "New Woman" and "Before The Dawn". "New Woman" was very popular then, and it was even used in a commercial. Can anyone recall these songs? Thanks.
Very unlikely I guess. Nand Kumar is not with us anymore. God rest his soul. Their songs and maybe my tribute here will keep the spirit alive. They have done us, Malaysians, proud.
Lucky for some. When I first started on TH-cam, I tried searching for songs of The Strollers and I was despaired because there weren't any. So I decided to put up their montages and songs as a tribute and most of all, to satisfy fans. Thanks for watching. Feel free to ask if you want the MP3s. Just send me your e-mail add. to my Inbox.
So, another kaki from our time. Yeah, we were so jealous of Joey (of RTM); he has all the old records. But now it seems he's not the only one. THanks to the Internet and MP3 format. Thanks for watching.
You can erase the word 'ever' now. The MP3s are being sent to you as I'm writing. Looks like you are the closest to a Stroller and have memories of watching them 'live'. By the way, Mike is living in Queensland and he has watched these tributes. Thanks to Charles Tyler who informed him about it. Enjoy the MP3s.
VernonTerry, you are the first one to come forward to say you watched The Strollers performed live. Welcome to the club. The people here have been writing me re: Strollers, October Cherries & WUB and I'm really thrilled to know them. In fact two guys who are now abroad, one in Australia the other in USA will be coming for hols. in May. And we have made plans to meet. Wanna join us ? As for reunion, I think it's unlikely. Read comments below.
they are the best that Malaysian ever produced. Till now year 2011 there are no local group that can outshine The Strollers 1965 - 2011, Why can't I get to download all these fantastic songs in my mobile.
thanks mate for the strollers stuff.was in high school in singapore when these guys were as good as Frankie/Western Union Band/Quests/Thunderbirds......are you that old too?
There is a Best Collection CD in the stores. Someone got it recently, so try your nearest music store. If you can't get it, write me your e-mail add. to my Inbox and I'll send you the MP3 formats of their hits.
Awesome, just listening to this song give me the chills. I last saw The Strollers at the disco in ampang Park way back in the 70s. I now live in the US and whenever I think of a Malaysian band, The Strollers will always be the #1. Thanks for posting this and bringing back great memories to me. God bless, peace out.
@ssjjrw Never heard of Philip being in the band. There were Oliviera and Ramli earlier on. Both left to hold steady jobs bcoz those days one could hardly make a living as full time musicians.
@Bluesdirections Good. Now I know which category you fit in. Nothing beats vinyl. Meanwhile here's a site which you may find interesting. Search for "questing bandstand". Sorry web address not allowed on TH-cam. Enjoy. Keith
@davekay08 Now that's something we cannot judge from your side of your story. I'm sure there was some agreement on paper that members of the Vipers could have gone thru' their solicitors. I'm surprise those "very expensive and excellent Fender guitars and amplifiers" were carted away without anything signed.
@Bluesdirections Just found two songs featuring Terry Thaddeus. Thanks for the info - I didn't know he was known as the Hendrix of Malaysia. Need your e-mail add. in order to send you the MP3s. Pop it in my Inbox.
Those were the days...we are so Muhibbah ☺️🙏

@meadzhan The titles are in the respective songs. It's not that difficult to identify which is which. Just put your ears to work a little. Thank you.
Come join "The Strollers Legacy" FB Group and follow the band as they reunite for a concert on 4.11.16 at Royal Selangor Club in KL.
Reached no. 3 in Germany I think. Can anyone confirm this?

Enjoy. Keith
@keithyoong Not to worry. I have the vinyl. I have most of their stuff on vinyl. Vinyl rules.
@Bluesdirections Crying at our age is good for our health. So just let go. It's all good. Thank you.

Keith do you have the single which features the guitar player described as the Hendrix of Malaysia ? Terry Thaddeus.
