I loved this video. Actually, I love all of your videos. You are very thorough in explaining what materials you are using and also how and why you are using them. You are so talented and a great teacher. Thank you for sharing with all of us.
Love your tutorials. They’re clear and inspirational even for old dogs learning new tricks. One thing I feel compelled to let you know: mini ink blending tools have been around for a long time. As an artist, you probably weren’t paying attention to craft supplies, but crafters have known how useful they are. Welcome to our world!
Yes! I haven’t been paying attention to crafting supplies. I had been using makeup sponges. These are much better!! I’m so glad you enjoy the tutorials. I’ve been teaching for a long time, I guess it shows!
@@ElizabethStHilaire One more FYI: Ranger’s product is the original, and good. There is also a version with a domed sponge that tends to eliminate the hard edges that the flat sponge can leave. You wouldn’t see it when you use them to dab paint on a stencil, but you will see the edges if you use them to apply ink to a background. Scrapbook.com makes the domed heads as do some others. They’re not a perfect fit for the Ranger handles, but they’re close enough to be interchangeable.
You are an absolutely fantastic teacher! :) Thank you so much for sharing. I love seeing more "fine art" created using the Gel plate - with my favorite paints, GOLDEN fluids! I use them all the time on my channel. :)
So inspiring and lovely gold on teal. I am so enjoying these short little tutorials. You explained things so clearly on this video for us beginners who are going crazy with gel printing! Thanks Elizabeth!
I just received this stencil (and three others) and I’m so excited to try these. I love how it was packaged. I appreciate the effort Joggles makes to make the package so pretty ❤️
Using a book as a roll off sheet is pure brilliance. Especially as I often gel print while couch sitting and watching the tv-the book covers will provide the necessary flat surface. Using the ‘painted’ pages for collage is a fabulous added bonus. And your technique, so simple but gorgeous-I’m eager to work with it.
Dear Nabby, I am glad you like the idea! it's a great way to make base layers for future gel printing and ultimately for collage application. I hate to waste any resources!
Thank you so much Elizabeth, I really really love ❤️ this, so much. Those prints are really really stunning and gorgeous too. There’s a lot you could do with them. Please stay safe and well too xxx Mags
Another great tutorial, thank you Elizabeth! I see that you love rice paper and wonder if you use deli paper? When I discovered it I went crazy and made dozens of prints because it is so inexpensive. What do you think?
I do love deli paper, but it tends to want to wrinkle in Collage Application, and I sometimes don’t like to fight with it. Rice paper glues down without any issue, but because deli paper is coded, it does tend to want to buckle
I can see how using the ink blending tool would make good "transitional " collage papers . I learn so much from your videos! I joined Patreon Thank you for your generosity in teaching

@@evypetre949 Evelyn, I am prooud to work with Joggles because their price point on the stencils is so reasonable, I am glad you were able to purchase three! I know you are going to love them. Well you can ALWAYS use these techniques for card making, or for making a mono print that you might want to frame, for sure! sometimes I write a letter on the back of the sheet and send it to a friend. Lots of ways you can preserve the print if you want to. I have a paper of the month club, someone will get this one in the mail next month!
On the Joggles site that first stencil you use is called Spring Flowers, not poppies. There is another one you have that they call Poppies. Just mentioning it so no one will be confused and order the wrong stencil. I LOVE YOUR VIDEOS -- quick and very informative!

I don't have any stencils so I'm going to buy some of yours. Which ones do you suggest to start off with? I love the 2 stencil sets. They're cheaper than I thought they'd be. TIA
I think the ones you start off with should inspire you. I think they’re all great I really like the masks, and especially the spirals. They are a great deal from Joggles!
Could you please give me some advice? I have an 11-year-old niece that loves to do art! She does what she see in her mind. I know that she has talent. Lately she has been taking my craft acrylic paints and making colored tissue (paper towels). I want her to develop but....I don't know how...The biggest question is how to contain the mess? Thanks.
Hi Elizabeth, It looks like on the Joggles site Poppies and Spring Flowers stencils are misnamed. I want to order the Poppy mask but it's labeled as Spring Flowers and the Spring Flowers mask is labeled as Poppies. I want the poppy one and don't know what to do.
I really wish ALL acrylic paint manufacturers used that swatch thing on their tubes, bottles, and jars of paint. A solid swatch by itself tells me nothing about the paint's opacity or transparency. Some paint manufacturers do better than others. Liquitex Basics line has a tiny little box that is either solid, half-filled, or empty but it's difficult to see. Golden is the only company that displays the paint's opacity level to my satisfaction. Unfortunately, Golden paint is a bit too pricey for my bank account. Sigh.
I love artists who have paint or ink on their hands. I know this is a working artist, the type from quick I learn the best, most liberating thimgs.
YES! I am always a mess James, that's for sure. Thanks for watching and commenting

I think we got our titles swapped! After I filmed this I noticed that. Spring flowers, order that and you’ll be good! I promise!
Help with warm and cool colors how do I tell a cool yellow next to a warm yellow. I a only using golden paint
Yellow is always warm. Think of sunny colors being warm and snow colors being cool.
If I use yours tin else to make a print does that print become mine to sale or is it a combo of your work and mine
Check Joggles “Angels Policy” for the limitations of that. Thank you!
… please check your stencil store … you have this stencil listed as Spring Flowers … and I don’t want to order the wrong one … thank you
Yes, we had a miscommunication in the name. Go with the photo of the stencil you want.
why can't you use the rough side of the paper?
It sticks to the gel plate

Golden is professional artist colors so it can be too much for crafters but it’s really the best IMHO
