Understanding Layers: Matisse Stencils on the Gel Plate-Tutorial Tidbits

This week's Tutorial Tidbit shows you how to layer, layer, layer with complexity, composition, and color. I'll show you how to use opaque light colors that will stand up over dark, creating dramatic contrast. I'll also demonstrate how to use Shapes #2 and #3 tab cut Matisse stencils, yielding three sets of shapes per 9x12 sheet! Inspired by Matisse Paper Cut Outs, these shapes are tons of fun to arrange and rearrange, over and over. The design is in the details of layering!

Elizabeth, excellent tutorial today. BTW, I can only find retiring stencils of yours on Joggles. I want to get these sets for my arsenal because they are wonderfully playful, and I have loads of similar style paper objects and bits to add to future collages and card fodder. Thank you.

Hi there, your gel plate dated for 9/23/24 is that really for next year? I was looking for what’s gong to be tomorrow and seen that. Well tomorrow will be a surprise

Mylar or plastic is what the stencils are made from
