That question about trolling Nelson. There are 2 main reasons:
    1. Nelson talks a lot and raised the hype for the film in the interviews. Always noticed that when a guy talks a lot and doesn't deliver (Atlee with Bigil is an eg.) social media trolls will start. Lokesh never faced any such BIG backlash even though Master was not 100% fulfilling becuz ppl really like his no-nonsense character and appreciated him for the little attempt to make a DIFFERENT vijay movie atleast!!
    2. Vijay fans trying to save their star from trolls. So most of it was targeted on Nelson.

So the simple ground rules that i understood are
    1. If u r writing for a big star, think about impressing the haters,reviewers.. because that's out of your comfort zone.. not just to impress fans.. this will make a good movie and fans willl be proud
    2. If you want great characters in your movie, you should have crafted and travelled with them for at least 2-3 years before introducing in your script..
    3. If you want a great scene, write a scene for 1 day and then kill the writer in your mind and review, insult, troll the scene logically for 10 days..
Every creation starts with just one person and spreads across masses.. so the person should never loose their integrity and do justice to themself while writing 👍🏻👍🏻

The problem is all these new age directors has exceptional potential and make great 1 or 2 movies. Once they get the opportunity to handle a bigger hero, they heed to their stardom rather than playing their own strength. The ability to convince mega stars is a skill and Tamil directors don’t have that. They become one of their fan and spoil it for themselves and movie lovers.

It was a let down. Jeevanantham in Kaththi i think is one of his more refreshing roles - a vulnerable, emotional guy that still has the qualities of a real life hero.. I completely agree with BR with all the answers except 19:09 because I strongly feel an actor should be wise enough only to choose his script and after that, it should be left to the director entirely. If an actor wants to involve, it could solely be in the discussion phase and definitely not after the movie has gone to the floors. The director needs to have the command and capability on the sets and the actors are meant to just do what they are asked to (they can improvise here and there, that's fine). Only when a director has this command, he can make a film with the kind of vision they began with. It's the director who is seeing the monitor, sitting with the editor, sitting with the music director, so he'd know to remodel a scene or bring a different perspective on the edit table or whatever, leading to creating whatever they have envisaged.

    • @kathirvel5278
      @kathirvel5278 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

@@ursyedis even what I mentioned has nothing to do with ego. It's simply because if there is any interference with opinions on the sets, it'll cloud the judgement of the director. I also recall the Vikram Vedha example like Vjs proposed the climax approach and his entry shot. Those worked out, well and good. But my point is, we've also heard so many many cases where actors have interfered or someone else interfered with the script and it going haywire. Even in the past, or even Hollywood, if you take the greatest actors, they would have done best in the given scene only and not gotten intellectually involved in the scene itself. It's the director's job and conception

Beast movie was not convincing for Vijay fan who prase the movie just to see Vijay... The story of beast is great but the screenplay is not convincing to connect the story continuously till the end of the movie... Don't support Nelson for what mistakes he done in Beast... Actors salaries are an issue even in Hollywood.
Although it makes sense that if they were to reduce the salaries then the movies would benefit, but also I think these big stars have really worked hard to be in the position that they’re in. No one in regular life would even be judged this much for how much money they’re getting paid. The struggles of being a celebrity I guess.

    • @kathirvel5278

@@kathirvel5278 I think the fair thing to do is for them to cut a percentage from the movie afterwards. But believe me, if it’s a hit (trust me whether it’s bad or good Vijay and Ajith movies are always making bank) they’ll end up making much more then they would if they were paid upfront. A lot of producers wouldn’t like that deal with a huge star. Trust me there’s more to it. These producers just want them to take less money upfront with no percentage cuts from the total. Beast being an average movie has nothing to do with the amount of money Vijay gets, it all comes down to the script being weak. In fact everyone’s raving about the stunt work, the mall set, the music, etc…….. people are just trying to fit everything into their narrative for their own benefit.

It all depends on the business that star can do regardless of how good the movies are so vijay got a big fan base which includes children's and people who see movie Occasionally with their family regardless of the negative reviews he will be generating revenue for his movies if his movies are subjected to loss no one will do this big investment on him there are many people who doesn't care or know about what a good cinema is they will go to the theaters and watch beast only because of poi it got vijay and they enjoy it I think arun pandian and producer's like him are not expecting to produce good concent if they do so they would have done something good right all they want is to have more profit how can they achieve it if they can able to do movies with actors like vijay ajith rajini whom they just can't simply afford if they can get them for less salary and make a movie with less money they will get lots of profit from that that's the only reason they were speaking like that why can't they fund good directors like ram and many more if they really want content only few consider that and arun pandian is not one of them from his records of the movies he did so far

If I was director Nelson I would have made Beast a xmas action comedy movie. Possibly add some xmas nostalgia, some side artists that audience might root for besides the hero. Instead of Vijay giving the hijackers hard time I would probably make the villains give Vijay hard time whole 1st half. Since Vijay suffers from PTSD, I would probably make Vijay realize the seriousness and becoming brave during interval. In 2nd half he battles against hijackers, untill climax and just as a finale touch when the hostages get freed one of the small girls, who was a hostage grabs two pink ballons and runs towards freedom. the end

I have so many ideas. Really make Vijay fail in his 1st attempt to catch the terrorist. Cause the child's death. Gets booted of the army for being mentally distorted and lose all the benefits of a soldier. Get a therapist who works to program Vijay again. Gets him the job in a security company. Make Shine Tom Chako the actual baddie and he causes Vijay plans to fail in the mall until we reach resolution. Now this ain't enough but somebody like me can come up with this, why can't Nelson...

I really liked the slow burn aspect of the movie because it is a heist/hijack genre. I just feel that they should have tapered down the action sequences and made them more realistic. Also, Tamil movies should stop this one-man army crap. That's just my opinion and I'm allowed to have one. Thank you!

Only Nelson can tell us what he really wanted to make and whether what was released was the movie he wanted to make. Making the Pakistan terrorist a midget or short is like a caricature to the point of making a spoof film. Was Nelson trying to make a movie in the style of Deadpool or Zombieland or a spoof like Hot Shots. Anyone noticed that Nelson did the Nuke The Fridge scene from Indiana Jones 4. Why was the villain wearing a Breaking Bad character mask? The core of the movie is Die Hard in a Shopping Mall and that’s where the movie falters the most because the screenplay was not engaging. I enjoyed the movie for Vijay, Arabic Kuthu (the prelude scene to the song itself was superb), Pooja, VTV Ganesh and the Jolly song - at least they make you sit until the end. Smart Nelsa. Better luck next time Nelson - hope you bounce back with a better reviewed movie. Myself will watch the movie 1 more time before it’s removed from theatres.

FIRST OF ALL movies doesn't need to have any logics it's fictional world from a director/writers vision THE KEY FACTOR IS HOW THEY MAKE IT LOOK LIKE BELIEVABLE if they didn't hook the audience into their world they distract from the movies they started scrolling the phones look for logic loop holes like how vijay shirt got that blood why it's look like ➕ symbol how Pooja costume🤣 changes in the 2nd half whereas in KGF our thinking brain is muted by the WORLD BUILDING gripping screenplay we were hooked from the start to the end without even thinking that why herione didn't go his father funeral 😂
