The W-Body will always have a special place in my heart. The 3800 NA and Supercharged is such a great engine. With that said one the results look great.
It’s wild how you can actually see the gloss boost as you work around the car just a few minutes after leveling. Haven’t used your coating just yet but the other products (iron remover and all clean) have been terrific.
@diydetailofficial If you do not remove the water spot minerals, what do you mean by 'drive them deeper into the paint'? I could imagine them getting picked up by the pad and compound then dragged around causing microscratches, but why would they stay in the same place and just go deeper?
Hi! I love all of your videos which have allowed me to ceramic coat many cars at 16 years old with all my learning through videos. The only problem I’m currently having is I don’t know how to put the right amount of ceramic coating on as I’m either putting on way to much or I feel like I’m not even putting anything on. Also how do I know when to apply more to the applicator? Thanks!
I just bought your 3 year coating. Panel prep package. The directions on bottle states to spray directly on the surface. Two of your videos say spray on towel. I was disappointed not to receive the red application pad for coating. The box style pad absorbed. I will comment often on the Cherokees coating over time. Thanks for great vids
Great video as usual dawgs 💪. Question for you two…. I finally came across a vehicle where the carpet will need a good scrub and extraction, and the customer will be paying for the service to be done… I have my Bissell Little Green Pro shampooer, but I do not know what to use for the shampoo portion…. Should I just use hot water, or mix in like maybe rinseless wash diluted 256:1, or maybe mix in some All Clean diluted 15:1??? What would you two recommend? P.S. - I’ll be using Rinseless Wash diluted 256:1 foamed onto the carpet, then agitated with a drill & drill brush *before* extraction.
Great video as always, really instructive! Would just one leveling towel and one buffing towel be enough for an entire car? Cause when I applied my first coating (the 3 years, amazing) I've changed leveling and buffing towel practically for each panel, but I guess I was over cautious 😅
Thank you for the quality content! Two questions, 1. How many vehicles can I complete with just one bottle of coating? 2. I'm looking at adding ceramic coating to my Mobile Detailing line. Is DIY Ceramics usable outside in the sun/heat?
Hello. I’m going to apply a graphene coating with carbon nano tubes on my Toyota Hilux. Can I use it in the windshield, windows and headlights? Or I must only apply on paint and plastics? Thank you. Love u
t would be interesting to see the BEADING & Sheeting on the car after application...! Because one and the same coating on paint and glass 🤔. I would like to see what the performance is like and the pH values to see if the coating can withstand anything.
I was working on a new Honda civic, white, it has like a gold pinstripe sticker going the length of the car, I think its a sticker, doesn't seem like it's painted on. Its raised. I was wondering if its ok to polish over it or tape it off??
Hey guys. I do know that your coatings are ok to get wet after 1 hour of application. My concern though are: 1. after making the 1 hour mark then it starts raining heavy for lets say the next 4 to 5 days, is the coating still ok despite the heavy downpour? 2. Also, what if for the days after the 1 hour curing it gets crazy rainy and sunny which may cause heavy dust accumulation? Is it ok not to wash it still? I got your 5 yr coating and a bit hesitant because these two scenarios might happen in the next few days or weeks in our place.
After that 1 hour you can park in a monsoon for a week, you will be fine. Resist the temptation to wash for a week, dirt on the surface will not affect the coating.
@@diydetailofficial nice! Hopefully a monsoon happens in the next few days or weeks. Kidding! By the way, im from Philippines hence the reason for asking. You’ll never know when if its gonna rain or shine during Ber Months. Glad your products made it here! Keep up the good work!
Question not related to coatings. When using the wash/clay/seal method using Quick Beads, and going panel by panel, can I immediately follow up with ceramic gloss on the panel after I dry it? Or do I need to wait awhile for the Quick Beads to cure?
one question i just bought every thing except the towels because there not availeble on the netherlands rigjt now, but do you need to throw away the towels when finished? or are they reusable. A lot of other coating you need to dispose or is there a trick as weekend worriar it will be quite expensive
@diydetailofficial how did you determine this? Just visually assessing the paint after the wool pad or did you do a test spot with a second pass with the gold/red pad and saw no difference?

Watching this process, makes a newbie like me, feel like this isn’t that hard.
Thanks for doing this complete process.
Next spring is polish and coat!
Excellent, no it’s not very difficult

The circular application of the coating is an invaluable technique, just like applying wax.
Thank you
So therapeutic watching this. DIY makes to awesome products.

@diydetailofficial If you do not remove the water spot minerals, what do you mean by 'drive them deeper into the paint'? I could imagine them getting picked up by the pad and compound then dragged around causing microscratches, but why would they stay in the same place and just go deeper?
Because of the heat caused by polishing, they sink into the paint
Throwing the applicators and towels in the wash bucket when you’re done with the coating is a great tip 👍 That never occurred to me haha
Glad it was helpful!
The polish and coating look amazing and this Buick looks better than new. Here in Nashville this car would sell quickly! Thank you for the video!
Glad you like it!

As long as you’re depositing coating on the surface, it’s enough.

Amazing work as always Nick and Yvan. That car came out extremely glossy.
Thanks again!
I just started this recently, boy the damp towel saves your shoulders big time, also more efficient
Happy you’re enjoying it.

Gotta love the licenses plate 😁
It’s very fitting.
The cars came out amazing guys 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼

Amazing video as always! When polishing glass after a decon and before a coating, which is best, a microfiber or wool pad? Thanks!
Wool is preferred.
Looks amazing guys 👍😁

I answered on your other comment but I love bio break as pre spray and flex ice as your extractor rinse chemical

No need to use more than one towel.

An average sedan, 2 per bottle. It can absolutely be applied outside.

Check with the manufacturer of that coating.

Are there any gloss reading instruments used to find out how glossy this car is?
Yes

The coating can withstand ph3-13. Abrasion is the only real way to remove it
@@diydetailofficial thx 😉
Grandpa Gold never looked soo good!!💯👍🏼

What is the best approach to get rid of a high spot after the coating has cured? Polish, panel prep, then reapply to the isolated area?
Hand polish, checking often. No re-application required
@@diydetailofficial Awesome! thank you very much.
Hi Sir Yvan, i noticed you didnt applied the coating in a cross hatch pattern, however can i do it as my own way to apply it?
You can

Polish it
Are the two towels the same nap just different colors?
The second is a slightly higher nap.
Ready

Can your ceramic coating be applied to matte paint? I have a motorcycle with a matte black finish that I would like to apply a coating to.
Yes
do you have any video on wet sanding a new or old paint
No , it’s not really within the scope of this channel.

So which pad would be used to abrade the paint to accept a new coating? Assuming it’s near the end of the life of the previous coating…Waffle or wool?
Yellow waffle.

1-2 hours

Go to 17:50 in the video, shows you can reuse the towels by soaking
thanks just stopped to early with the video
Always watch to the end. We teach from start to finish.
you don't need to clay bar?
We use a Perforated Synthetic Decontamination Towel instead
Is it fine if the car is rained on if you do the 8 year and 3 year mix?
After 1 hour, yes
@@diydetailofficial thank you!
Would you not advise following the wool pad with the gold or red finishing pad? Would that not provide an even better finish?
In this case, the improvement was negligible at best.
@diydetailofficial how did you determine this? Just visually assessing the paint after the wool pad or did you do a test spot with a second pass with the gold/red pad and saw no difference?
@KingRockets we did a few test spots
did you do any kind of paint measurement before?
A few spots, it’s factory paint everywhere
What product do you put in the pad washer?
DIY Detail Rinseless Wash 256/1
