the capacitors are tubular cylindrical things, (in this case, probably black with a white or grey stripe down one side). The grey stripe shows which side is positive and which is negative. It doesn't matter, simply find the things (they have numbers on the board) and unsolder them (using a solder sucker, small pliers, and soldering iron). Then rotate them through 180 degrees, and resolder them! It is finnicky - but it did not take me long. I have been modding for a while though.

Saw your link to this from freestompboxes. Thanks for posting this. The engaged octave sounds WAAAAY better now. Can't wait to flip the caps on mine.

thanks for demoing, I did the mod as shown from that forum and I am amazed how well it works as a fuzz and the octave is fun trying to sound like Jack White.

its a jam in D, some of it based on 'blue on black' - pentatonic minor, naturally!

I've got the Voodoo Octave, and this is the FIRST time that I've EVER been ABLE to hear the upper octave! When I got it, I thought maybe mine was defective, but I quickly learned it wasn't, they just sound like that... When I engage the "Octave" I noticed some increased high EQ, and possibly some OVERTONES, but definitely NOT an octave up ACTUAL TONE...

@blinddrunk666 erm, i'm afraid I kind of rushed to do the mod. Worst comes to worst, you just swap em back! test it before you screw it all back together... let us know!

@fooschmack yeah, the octave is clearly better - especially with a strat neck pup like this. Let me know how you get on!

Great pedal, but I must have gotten a defective one, because it whistles like crazy (its not the guitar or my gear creating feedback, its just some kind of whistle that comes from the pedal itself)

Definitely seems the way to go. I just bought one and it's great for the price, but the octave is barely noticeable. How do you do that loop with percussion? Just curious.

percussion is in the looper pedal itself

i own the joyo fuzz and i think it's a great pedal when you set it right. but the octave is horrible. I'm going to try to mod it like you did. I never did it before, I hope I don't Fuck it up;)

Nice tone mod. Playing was way too loud. Overpowered the backing track to the point it was almost annoying.
