I'm from there. It's just Torres Vedras not Torres de Vedras. These pastries usually don't have powdered sugar on top (maybe in the cafes), but its a nice idea. My tia works for Pasteis Brasao. Thanks for sharing! Also they make pasteis de grao which I like a bit more then feijao, of course pasteis de feijao are more popular.

Thank you. I hope to visit Torres Vedras someday and try them in person. I’ve heard of pastries made with grao. But I’ve never tried one. Look forward to making it in the future. 🍻

Hello @Just Cook With Michael Santos.
I just tried this recipe and can’t thank you enough for posting it. They were a favourite of mine when I was much younger and I’ve been looking for step by step instructions that resembled my mother’s recipe for a long time.
They are truly delicious, but if baking or making the syrup at high altitudes such as where I live in the Okanagan Valley of British Columbia, I had to add 10 minutes to the syrup in order to achieve the correct temperature and 12 extra minutes to the baking time.
Like I said already, they are delicious.

That’s fantastic. But I can help in any small way to bring back such a great memory. Enjoy🍻
