Is it possible for an intermediate phase educator to switch and teach senior phase ?

Hi @mthunzikunene2517, so I have been trying to find a straightforward answer to this but I am battling so I am going to answer it according to my knowledge which is both a No and Yes. So when you apply for jobs, especially as a fresh graduate, the government schools tend to be a bit stricter on the requirements of your qualifications. I remember when I was still studying, we would always be reminded that it is easier to take a top-down approach as compared to a bottom-up approach. That being, an ECD teacher qualification would not necessarily be considered for an FET teacher post but an FET teacher qualification would in most cases be considered for an intermediate or lower post [which I experienced firsthand as when I started I taught grade 3s in Primary with an FET qualification]. But switching between the phases as a teacher also becomes much easier once one is in the system. It becomes easier to teach varying grades and subjects once you are employed. Most private institutions that I have become familiar with do not really fuss much about this which I would like to believe is due to their constant teacher professional development within their institutions and being set up differently to government schools. Ultimately it is dependent on the school, the management of the school, and experience or even capabilities. I hope I am making sense and that your question was somewhat answered.
