I really enjoyed this, very honest answers. The "superficial" friends answer I think was spot on, she was very honest. You may have lots of friends but it's not easy to find that ride or die friend.
Interesting answers. As far as crime goes...my friend who has lived in The Villages for 12 years says crime is low, but not non-existent, and it is mostly crimes of opportunity against property. My friend locks her doors when she leaves her home & when she is home unless she is in the yard. She locks her car doors when parked away from home. The owner of my short-term rental in The Villages said to be sure the doors are locked when you leave the house. And I do lock the doors.
One thing that struck me is the lady that said it's easy to make superficial friends but much harder to make really close best friends. That's true anywhere.i have a sign in my kitchen that says "It takes a long time to grow old friends". I'm surprised nobody said Spanish Springs that's my favorite. And my favorite restaurant is Amerikanos Greek restaurant in Spanish Springs. Also Ay! Jalisco in SpSp.
I really enjoyed this. This is what people need to see before they go on their onsite visit. People can make notes from this video and make a point of visiting these squares and restaurants, and get the opinion of residents that are not trying to sell you something. It might even help someone narrow down what village they want to move to. Perhap they will make some new friends and that will be another incentive for someone to make the move to the Villages.
That was fun!! What an editing nightmare hahaha! Dig the old grumpy retired cop type @2:17 and love the smiling eyes of the lady @3:51, but the one noting "Neither," @13:10, what else is there? Snowflake maybe?
Fun answers and interesting how similar they often were across the topics. If The Villages were an acronym, it would stand for The Variety Includes Lovely Lively And Genuinely Energetic Symbiotics
Jerry I had the pleasure of speaking to you when you called in to CW dispatch. I checked out your page and I love it!!! Keep doing what y'all do and stay happy 😃
These folks read everything that skip reads. We said we don't believe that much of the crime that is perpetrated here is done by people that actually live here.
I don’t think everyone in this video was being honest and in denial on certain issues. I don’t live in TV but I’m aware that there is a lack of healthcare and hospitals and there is crime in TV. Not everyone is friendly in TV either.
Lots of Skip’s reporting of “crime” occurs outside of the bubble. I know absolutely no one here who has been the victim of any type of crime. Not saying crime doesn’t exist, but it so rare, than when a minor crime occur (like illegal parking or littering) it stands out like a sore thumb.
Hey guys. Ooo. Another vid from the ship. Hot is the word of the day. Mixed views on heathcare. Crime seems minimal. Golf ⛳️ seems popular. Assortment of fav spots. Great it’s easy to make friends. Jerry I’m figuring you asked each person all the questions then went back and edited. Wow. A lot of work. Well done. If and when will be a 🐸 with a⛽️ cart😂. All this time didn’t realize there was more than 1 townsquare. Thought there was 1 universal for the entire villages. Good to know there are numerous. Great meeting subscribers. Thanks for sharing 🤗
Best answer: Crime: What’s that? 😂 LOL My favorite activity: my eBike 🚴🏽 (… and golf) ⛳️ 🏌️♂️ My wife’s: cardio drumming 🥁 Favorite spot: (agree with) Edna’s on the Green 👍🏻 Favorite restaurant(s): Cody’s McGrady’s Ski Beach (in Leesburg) We are “snowbirds” 😉
That was nice meeting some of our future neighbors ❤️Thank you Jerry and Linda❤️ very useful information. Regarding the health care where do you go for your doctors?
LSL has more to do than Brownwood. Much nicer too with the lake, boardwalk and movie. Lots of problems in Brownwood with outsiders. No movie. But if you live close to it I guess Brownwood could be a favorite. Spanish Springs is transforming to condos, no movie and outsiders causing trouble.
What a lovely group! I really find that a person's opinion on healthcare, insurance, and prescription medications really depends on how healthy or ill they are. My mom had rheumatoid arthritis since age 30 and my dad was super healthy into his 70s. Dad had much more positive views of healthcare because he had the luxury of not needing much of it Mom had far more negative experiences. I've had asthma and allergies since age 3 and have always needed specialists and medication to keep breathing (which is a pretty important thing!) and my view of healthcare is always pretty low, even when I've had excellent doctors and care, because it was either too hard to get when I needed it, too complicated, and/or too expensive.
Watched a very long video someone recently posted on YT. It was a long long long golf cart parade, like several hundred, for a particular national political candidate. Some of the handmade signs some (more than a few) of these people had on their golf carts were alarming. And not the ones that simply stated who they supported, nothing wrong with that, but the vitriol of the handmade signs gave me pause. I’m still coming for my lifestyle visit but my eyes will honestly be a bit more wide open.
Del Taco is the premier place for college kids to go when they get the munchies. I do miss El Pollo Loco though. For good to great fast food, you want In-N-Out and The Habit! PS- In-N-Out is coming to Tennessee next year!!!!!!!
Hi Jerry and Linda, great show, great answers!! I really enjoyed our Alaskan cruise years ago now and I’m sure things have changed since we went but it was a very fun time!! My husband is not much of a cruiser and I thought this particular cruise would change his view on “cruising” but sadly not 😢 I will take my next cruise with a girlfriend or two I think. Glad you guys had a wonderful time, enjoyed the photos. Many thanks as per usual for sharing your life with us, I really enjoy watching and listening and am always “hungry” for the next one lol. Have a wonderful fun and safe weekend! 🛳️ 🩷Tina 🩷 🛳️
Health care..needs improvement . Yes there is crime we do not live in paradise. Basic comfort zone but be aware and pro active. Your retirement depends on it..denial about anything is destructive. Not for everyone...living here and that's ok
Not much in trees real trees. Just a lot of way too many palms that don't you get much shade.. What about flowers? Apparently who cares about the environment there.!

Great Video and Editing. There is Crime in TV’s but 99% of it is from outside sources coming into the area. Have a great Weekend.
We really liked this video, we learned a lot from their answers. We appreciate the honest answers. Blessing to you both!!!!! Thank you so much!!!
Glad you enjoyed it!
Friendly upbeat people attract like minded positive people. A pleasure to watch 😁

Glad you enjoyed it.
Awesome video Jerry and Linda hope you both have a wonderful weekend
Thanks, Debra!
Great people, Great show.
I always enjoy these Q and A and “man on the street” videos. All those Villagers seem like a great bunch of people.
Takes one to know one!

Great topic. A great mix of answers from a variety of nice people with different perspectives.

These folks need to listen to Skips videos if they believe there is no crime in The Villages.
These folks read everything that skip reads. We said we don't believe that much of the crime that is perpetrated here is done by people that actually live here.
@@JERRYANDLINDAAll due respect, does it really matter WHO perpetrates it, if there's crime, there's crime...

I really enjoyed the video, but have one concern. Jerry, with all your editing skills, couldn’t you have made me look more like Brad Pitt? 😂
I think Brad Pitt would not mind looking like you Pete.

Sawgrass isn't a square, says the developer.

Canadians would say Vancouver, British Columbia (not Canada). Like America, City State ( Province)
Thanks. You are correct, we would not say Orlando, USA.
where did you order your shirts?

The healthcare in the South is a nightmare, lowest reimbursement rate in the US! If you were a physician would you stay??
Well. Thank goodness about a zillion do.
Liking the shorter video.

I only saw the sensationalized video from about 4 years ago. We have never seen anything like you described in our time here.
Boy. All over the place with the healthcare. I go back to Minnesota in two weeks to get all of my medical appointments done. Still afraid.
ONE word.....I guess they didn't hear you say that. 🤭🤔

@@JERRYANDLINDA Just teasing, It would be so hard for me to just use one word on some of these
If The Villages is the premiere retirement community, it deserves the #1 fast food winner, Del Taco. I think they are opening in other parts of FL.
Bring it!
In-n-out please.
Just sometime within the next 8-10 years. See you when we get there.
