This is a talkbox, rather than a vocoder. With vocoders, you sing and it manipulates your voice, but he's not singing; rather, the source sound is being produced by a speaker and being piped into his mouth through that tube, and he's manipulating that sound by changing his mouth shape to make the vowels and consonants.
