Recently had a comment asking to show a actual example of using this rack unit. In this video I show 3 Examples(1 Virtual Soundcheck)(2 Through the DN4816-O) of utilizing the rack. For anymore questions pls feel free to comment down below!

Excellent! Thank you. I'm looking to install a DN4816O from my DL32 Stagebox via U-Net to act as Outs 17-32 and my MAIN OUTS via my 2nd AES-50>4ch-Analog "Cat-Tail", ..(..Separate from the DL-32/DN16 Combo..).., that way I can create a FULL '32ch DIRECT OUT SPLIT' from my StageRACK for the 'Guest' Engineer to mix their own Monitors,..(..Just make sure the your TAP POINTS are Correct..)..
Go for it!
Great video! I'm working with a band where we will try to use the DN4816-O as a splitter to FOH. Their IEM rig is a DN32 stage box, with an M32C as their IEM console, then coming out of the M32C to the DN4816-O and out to a Behringer x32 Producer. So hopefully I manage to get all of this with CAT5 cables and avoid all the hassle of cables.
Be aware if it’s coming from the m32C, make sure they don’t change the Gain!
@@seantallica2020 understood! I will set up their In Ear Mixes during rehearsals so I can avoid that becoming an issue.
Why don‘t you use AES50 in that case? No need for a DN4816-O
@@magicmaui77 then they could use the B port to share it, also the same way if FOH is controlling the gain or have it separate
exactly if you take the ultranet from the M32 to the X32 you don't even need the DN or better yet why not just eliminate the M32 all together, use the DN for inputs on stage and P16s for monitor mixes for each member?
You still have gain control at the FOH console correct? If you make gain changes it still effects the monitors because the pick off point will always fall after the preamp.
Correct, I made a vid on this, and this is a con, but if you set at soundcheck and forget, it will all be goo
Do you have the DN4816 conected to the Ultranet port?
@@wavelabstudio5701 yes I do! I use a the ultranet port from the Brain(M32C) to the DN4816-O
DIRECT OUTS are Post Gain. Get your Input Gain CORRECT at FOH! and the DIRECT Outs will be Totally Usable as the "Monitor Desk" is receiving 'PSUEDO' Analog Inputs. I've done this when I had a 12ch Band that wanted a 'Split', so I changed my DL32's OUTPUTs to be Ch 1-12 DIRECT OUT and set those Ch back to their Analog Desk/IEM's, while keeping MY 13-16 to feed my MAINS. It's LIMITED, but in a Pinch it works.
Adding a DN-O Unit will increase your OUTPUTS, but you will still have to account for MAINS.. ( ..I am currently using 5 outputs, L/R, Sub1, Sub2 and CtFill..).. so I can only 'FLIP' 11ch back to a Guest.
The BEST Course of action here is to have Your channels Split to FOH so that "You do You" while allowing FOH to 'do Their thing'. Hand the Venue a LABELED "Whip".. and you just made a New Friend!! I work with Alot of Cover Bands at my Club...50-60 Different Bands/yr with 125+ Shows/yr..."Whips are GOOD!!"
what is the difference of doing IEMs this way vs using something like the P16M system?
With a p16 unit you have to have each one for a band member, this way you only need one mixer with 6 Aux buses and it is cheaper than buying multiple P16 Units
Are the outputs from the dn4816 transformer balanced isolated feeds?
Yes, it is set to individual balanced line outputs
