My humble opinion about criticisms on karnan is that, when we use a mass communication medium we have to take the responsibility of presenting more maturity to the audience. Parierum perumal did that exactly. Though the solution presented in Karnan was realism, that realism would not touch the psyche of broader audience who are neither extremely casteist nor victims of extreme casteism (as majority are). These majority would see presentation of a pointless violence. Where as parierum perumal will ask tough questions deeply to hearts of the majority. Someone's criticism on karnan in comparison to parierum perumal doesn't rise from any superiority complex.
We will present whatever we want to and the audience should receive everything without opinions is a sad demand from a well learned person like Pa Ranjith.

But what was the pointful question or conclusion in the climax of Karnan? What majority of the population can learn in it?
One can convey whatever one wants to, but the impact it creates must be analyzed without attachments......an art must be an antidote to toxins like casteism but presenting pointless violence (even though with historical context) through mass media may not help....hate breeds hate, I fear Karnan did that to some extent. And mari sir faced the consequences during Maamanan release...
Of course Ranjith never said it but he attacks the opinion by labelling it to be "privileged voice". But I disagree with that....I would say it's a genuine criticism

Bro thinking karnan is tamil version of django unchained. There is a proper criticism on both karnan and mamannan's screenplay. Please accept your criticism. Art is not political. Art is way more than politics. It is an universal medium. Your trying to manuplate it. Both Vetrimaaran and Ram shows the violence by establishing equality. You are becoming a woke. Sivasami and pariyan has proper reason for the violent action but neither karnan nor athiveeran does not have proper reason for their violent behaviour and they are immature. This feeling is due to worse writing and screenplay. Please differentiate between human but you are typecating the communities. Cinema is an art you have no right to own it. It is owned by audience.
