Would you use them as hookbaits or just for feed? Just wondered if they'd go to soft to pierce?

I would only do this for loose feed, depending on how long you soak the baits they can become very soft. It's amazing for solubility a digestion to keep the fish feeding, but for me this time of year is about high attraction so for the hookbait I would either use either a bright/ washed out popup, or wafter. Or of you want to treat a few boilies just for hookbaits then you can do the same technique but don't use any kettle water. Just put a few baits in a container and cover them in a little of the heated condensed milk to give them a good glaze.

Now pour over a couple of handfuls of flaked maize.

Yeah definitely mate, to top a mix like this it can definitely be an edge to add a natural bait, maggots also is something I would add.

@@mikesparksangler definitely love the carnation milk although I haven't tried heating it yet. I just pour it on my groats, flaked maize, sweetcorn and boilie crumb mixture at the moment. I like the idea! I'll definitely give it a go. Might add a bit of rock salt as well in the spring.

@@Smudgie yeah it's a great edge. Nice one. Heating it just makes it cover the baits a lot nicer :)

can you do this with shelf life boilies or they have to be freezer bait

Of course, it works very well with both shelflife and frozen boilies. You can do a very similar thing with particles and pellets also to make a good spod mix.
