  • Particle baits like hemp, maize and tiger nuts work very well for carp, but you must prepare them properly to make sure the carp want to eat it and can digest them too. This video explains the best particle baits, how to boil and soak them and what baits work well in certain situations.

    Love these videos!! I've only been Carp fishing for 18 month after 2 "friends" got me into it. Please please please don't fall for the "you must buy this expensive stuff" to catch carp rubbish! Every time I went near a bait shop I spent 100 quid and had nothing but a tiny bag to show for it. I started ignoring the trend and doing things my own way, keeping things cheap and simple as possible. I search for boillie overolls, nothing wrong with them and 80% are perfect. The other 20% I blitz up and use as flake or powder in solid bags. The 3 of us went to a lake for 4 days, me with my cheap baits and everyone else with literally £100s in bait.... I was the only one who caught carp. If you have endless money and want the best kit that's fine, if you are on a budget like most of us ignore the mainstream and just remember, carp love to eat, so don't care if your bait is £5 a kilo or £50!. Good luck to all and most importantly,.... enjoy your fishing 👍👊

    Why would particles be harmful? In nature they get blown in water and are uncooked. Carp dont have stomachs but alimemtary canals the start digesting the particles as they pass through. Also the carps pharyngeal teeth are designed to grind and crush. Also do carp ingest enough water to swell the particles?

    • @fishingtutorials
      @fishingtutorials  ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes like us, the use water in their digestive process, particle can swell inside inside their digestive tract if they eat it uncooked.

  • @jahrolo
    @jahrolo 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    I´m still not sure about the "dry particles can cause harm to carp" thing - the digestive system of carp is very robust (remember, they´re eating mussels and clams in whole) and also it works in 2 to 3 hours. Maize takes at least 24 hours to spring. So it shouldn´t really matter if you boil the particles or not. They are just more attractive when they´re boiled :)

    • @davidhopkins9021
      @davidhopkins9021 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I think its more the fact the particals will swell up

    • @fishingtutorials
      @fishingtutorials  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Mussels and clams do not take on water and expand when placed underwater, particles can expand and take on water, when this happens inside a fish, it is absorbing the fish's internal fluids to take on said water. This is what can cause fish fish problems. :)

    • @jahrolo
      @jahrolo 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@fishingtutorials I know all that ;) But, again, the digestive system at least of carp works in between 2 and 3 hours. I don´t think there is a particle that takes a harmful dose of water in this small amount of time. But of course I could be wrong though.

    • @fishingtutorials

    • @fishingtutorials
      @fishingtutorials  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      It needs to be soaked or cooked well so it swells before a fish eats it and so becomes safe. Uncooked particle is small to begin with so can then swell inside the fish and can kill it. So overcooking the bait is always safer than undercooking it so the fish eats what it can actually fit inside of it's digestive system.
