Being old school I still use Ovaltine to stick my maggots together. It works just as well but smells nicer, lol. Nice video Jamie, thank you for sharing.
It is important to use quality maggot powder. I have tried a few once, mostly the cheaper ones. And then I bought a MatchGum Arabica (I can buy it on this name), which is 100% arabic gum. With this I have never ruined the sticky maggots. Less powder needed for the same amount of maggots. I use it to glue maggot with gravel/pebble and ship it out in a cup kit for barbel on powerful river, like Danube.
i used to use that sticky mag in the 80s when i was in my teens good stuff the vanillas a good one to use for roach and bream great video by the way watch em all the time
This can be used with aquarium gravel too, to create weight and help get the bait down in deep water. Anglers sometimes use it fishing big wagglers at long range, especially in Europe. If you're planning on fishing shallow....like the pellet waggler....try another bait....the powder will not have broken down enough to be able to fish it properly. I'd recommend 2mm mesh for the riddle. They can be used with standard cage feeders, especially bottom-weighted versions, and even rhe feeders with the plastic prongs inside the body (made by a brand that isn't one of Jamie's sponsors). Always add the powder to DRY maggots If you really want clean maggots, then use a damp towelling shower glove to remove the maize / bran / sawdust from the bait.
Ive used it for long range waggler fishing, shallow. Sometimes the carp have seen enough pellets and want something different. The difficulty is getting the ball size right for catapulting
Hello jamie! How are you getting on with your Transporter trolley it's 3 years now since you introduced it and with Xmas coming up if you know what I mean? Update video maybe?
It's not Arabic gum, it's gum Arabic, which is used in food prep. The other gum is used in the food industry to thicken sauce such as tomato sauce, brown(hp)sauce eta. Read the labels on the back of bottles, and you'll find the E number of this thickener.

Brilliant method, so we'll explained.
Definitely a method for colder months!

Oh yes I know a few people that use ovaltine mate 👍
I would have said Horlicks myself.
It's something I've never tried, it's a very interesting method. Thanks Jamie.
Horlicks is a good, alternative to sticky mag. Used it for 20 years no problems
Absolutely mate, and for stickying up pellets.
How would you use Horlicks?? same way as sticky mags 🤔
@@rayhibberd9599 yes Ray pretty much
Yes exactly same
I've used this method but you do use more maggots than with a blockend feeder so take more pints than normal... Good video
Absolutely love these back to basics Jamie, a fantastic film 👏👏
Interesting video Jamie cheers 👍 will try this out

Great tip Jamie ;)
Thank You Jamie 👍🙏🏻🎣
Good luck in Bulgaria! 🤞
Thanks Andrei mate 👌
Great video. Could this be used on pellets, I don’t like to use liquids to make pellets bind. Would prefer to use a powder
Where did you get your maggot fix from,
J,,,,???
Hello jamie! How are you getting on with your Transporter trolley it's 3 years now since you introduced it and with Xmas coming up if you know what I mean? Update video maybe?
Horlicks used to be good for that
Any cheap Drinking Chocolate/Angel Delight type Powder will do. You're bound to have some old, out of date stuff hidden in the cupboard.
Horlicks 😉

Oh right thanks for that Russell I didn't know that 👍
Horlicks folks miles cheaper
Could you use it on a method feeders for say bigger bream?
Not a good idea. The bait would likely fly off the method feeder on the cast / in mid-air. Spodding would be a better option, or a baiting feeder.
might work on a pellet feeder, not on a method feeder though.
