It’s always annoyed me those people with the “it’s just a van” attitude, I’ve driven vans for over 25 years in the trade and I always keep them clean even though they technically don’t belong to me. It’s the place I spend a big part of my day and most importantly where I eat so why would I not keep it clean and tidy.
What a transformation of those seats with a good old scrub! I’m sure it will look a knockout when completed! With all the comforts of home! Very enjoyable video Gary! 👍👍
That looks very much better now than it did you are doing very well with getting the van in to a good state now keep up the good work it looks amazing pal 👍 😀
Great project this one Gary. This is going to be one very interesting journey seeing how you convert this van. Trust that your Mum & Dad are recovering OK.
Why would these workmen abuse their van so much? you wouldn’t want to travel to a job in that environment in your own car so why would you have your work-van so disgusting? baffles me!. I bet that flek of paint annoyed you 🤣🤣 I would be fuming. Thanks for the shout out Gary, it’s a long time since I converted my Transit but what I would recommend is getting your heating and ventilation planned from the outset. Don’t skimp on ventilation. I wish I was a youtuber when I converted mine 3 years ago 👍🏻
For the head lining use g101 50-1 mix spray it wipe over it with a microfiber cloth it will bring it like new you won't get a better finish even if you take it out and do it that paint on the seat rub it with a stiff tooth brush it will take the paint off and not damage the fabric if you spray a little bit of g101 on it aswell it helps to soften it same with the bit on the dash the fibre glass resin on the rear bumper neat petrol will soften that so you can remove it put some on and leave it for a hour it turns to jelly but will take the paint off aswell but you can repaint it no worries or should I say your dad can when hes better
great video gary, ive been watching your dads channels for years, im expecting this detail video to get a good amount of views as do the big channels that focus on just detailing, good work mate. its a thumbs up from me and i look forward to the next video👍🏻
Hi Gary, love the videos. I bought a 2014 vivaro today that has been used as a painters van so, naturally, there is paint all over the floor in the back of the van as well as a lot of rust. Any recommendations on what product/s I should use to take the paint and the rust off? I’m planning on insulating and boarding it all but wanted to give a good clean up first.
Hi Richard I would normally use a blade to get paint off depending how much there is regarding the rust I would use vactan as its a rust converter best one iv used 😀
The plug under the seat is for vehicles which have the option of a second battery fitted, these vehicles have a different seat box to enable the battery to fit. The wiring loom is the same on all vivaro’s.
Really great project, Gary ! I've ran out of daylight many times while cleaning a vehicle. A through job takes a lot of time . 👍

Totally agree mate. I used to keep my work van spotless as it's the first thing a customer sees and seen as a reflection of your work.
Spot on
Probably battery relocation or ancillary battery the plug under driver seat.

A drill brush would work well on the upholstery.
Don't know how people drive around in dirty vehicles. Doesn't take long for a vacuum and a wipedown! I wonder what their house is like...
500th like 👍🏻.....vans looking good mate 😉

I would hate to see the state of their home or workmanship if that’s how they treat their van that’s just pure laziness
