    I always imagine vehicles like this that you've described as "vile and disgusting" being sold by a salesman further down the line saying "as you can see the previous owners have really looked after this one".

    I'm just an old lady in USA who likes your videos, your personality, and your dog!! Glad to see you doing videos again. I like to clean my own car and have gotten some good tips from watching you work. I have a hard time understanding why some folks let their cars get so awful. I would be so embarrassed if my car was so dirty...especially the interior. Why don't folks take care of things they own anymore, especially when cars cost so much?

    I washed and vacuumed my Ford F-150 today for the first time in a while. It was pretty disgusting. I found half of a chicken nugget under the passenger seat my dog didn't finish eating from ONE YEAR AGO. My cats had to ride in it last week and it smelled like litter box. I went to one of those tunnel places where you can vacuum and clean out your car afterwards.
    I have WeatherTech floor liners and it was super satisfying to wash the mud, dirty and gravel out of them. The car wash had a compressed air gun, so I was able to get deep into the carpet pile. The truck bed will have to wait until I can go somewhere with a power washer.
    While Autoshine Blackpool didn't clean it, it doesn't smell like dog and litter box anymore. 🤪 Smells like air freshener. Nice.
    Question: Have you ever driven an American/rest of the world left-sided steering wheel car?

    I've never had any problem using Magic Erasers to clean glass. I fact, I find they do an excellent job at getting deeply embedded bug splatter and other debris off the glass. On the other hand, I have seen Magic Erasers dull and abrade some shiny plastics. Certainly don't use them on plastic gauge lenses or headlights.

    I googled where you were because I was bored at work and I noticed two locations popped up for Autoshine Blackpool. One was Gary's Autoshine (you of course) and the other for Autoshine Mobile Valeting. Is that you as well? Also, does the silicone spray for the plastics have a scent or come in different scents or is it just a generic no-smell spray? I haven't seen it here in the States. Another cracking job. Well done, you.

    My wee question - do you disconnect the cars battery before pulling the seats - if not is there a risk of tripping OBD error codes, or worse damaging or triggering seat airbags? Cheers from a fellow Scot.

    • @autoshineblackpool
      @autoshineblackpool  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I dont disconnect the battery, because you then lose radio and if you don't have the code you're screwed, I just don't turn the ignition on until the seats are put back in.

    Glad you're still around Gary I was beginning to wonder! Look forward to your videos - Your graft is my chill-out :-)
    I do have a question though. As you say there is a law of diminishing returns on the amount of labour you put into a job. So, do you draw the line on the 'big ticket' items you mentioned in this video or do you look at each car and decide what will make the biggest visual impact?

    • @autoshineblackpool
      @autoshineblackpool  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Depending on the customers budget and what the customer wants me to focus on really depends on what areas I put the most effort into. You do need to draw the line somewhere though.

  • @bailey2368

    Hi Gary, love the channel....My question is why do you not use the drill brush and extractor on the door panel fabrics? & suggestion is... have you ever tried using a steamer and then air hose for all the nooks and crannies air vents etc? you were talking about? Cant wait for your next vid!:)))

    • @autoshineblackpool
      @autoshineblackpool  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      The door panes are only fabric glues to fibreboard so I don't like using anything to aggressive on them. I've even seen people pulling the fabric of with wet vacs in the past so you need to be careful with them especially on older cars. Same goes for the headlining 😊

    I got a question. I applied wax on my car but unfortunately I wasn't taking much care and some plastics got some wax mark that I can't remove. Do you know how I could remove it? Thanks in advance

    What would you look for when finding someone to detail your car Gary? If I was in Blackpool I'd head your way but sadly that's a 4 hour drive!

  • @paulthompson5416

    My question:
    How the hell does G101 not dissolve the skin on your hands Gary!
    It left my hands furry ffs 🤦🏼‍♂️
    I don’t go near it without gloves now.
    Although that was a 1:4 dilution so still pretty strong 😂
    Also what Hoover are you using now? Looks like Henry’s been pimped elsewhere 🤣

    • @autoshineblackpool
      @autoshineblackpool  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I only use it about 1 to 12 so it's not too bad. Any stronger than say 1 to 10 and I'd definitely want gloves! The vacuums a kiam and works well 😊

    Hi great content. Quick in. After time product and other costs, what is the profit in a detail like this. Cheere

    • @autoshineblackpool
      @autoshineblackpool  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Products are cheap. Probably less than £5.
      I'd normally charge about 200 for a job like this.

  • @fuckthis81
    @fuckthis81 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    24.00 totally agree with that part about the detail!! People wonder what they pay for but all those we things add up to the hard work that it takes to leave a car right perfect for a customer

    Would cleaning products you use for cleaning the human body also a good use for cleaning a car?

      Good question. I'm told two in one shampoo is great for use as a wash soap actually as it's really slippery. Apart from that I'm not so sure.

    It looks like you have the B&Q G/series makita impact drill & standard drill there, just wonding if you could do a little review on them since you've had them long term? I keep looking at them but unsure of the quality because of the price of them!

    The drill action in the seat bolt was funny. I was dying.

    Do you find it necessary to recline the seats to clean that small strip that is perpetually hidden from view between the back and the seat? I used an 88 Ford Festiva / Kia the same way as this clean, on this side of the pond. Thanks again. Narragansett Bay

    How big an impact does the size of the vac nozzle make? Should I use a smaller one for the kind of results you get?
