Just did mine exactly like yours. Just waiting on my -16 fittings for my hoses
Good deal!!!
this other TH-cam channel was talking about his rear-mounted radiator setup.. cost well over $3,000... You are my type of guy... you find stuff on Amazon make it work... Your setup is Perfect . I have a Ranger with a 460 / 871 blower, C6, 8.8 4link etc. Just at that cage stage now, notching talking grinding... 😢 Nobody will never know the work that goes into these things.
Your dang right man, props to you for doing the cage! Them things take forever!!
is so fascinating, i thought something weird might be happening there because there's a big crazy looking round thing where the radiator is in my mustang. Well, she's not just any mustang so idk. this was a pretty great video.
Thanks man! That round thing is just the muffler, it kept getting hot when it was in the back of the car so i switched it with the radiator. Works way nicer now
Hi, I've just found your channel and am about 10 videos into it and have subscribed. Great content! With the water pump, is it supported by a bracket, or is the weight of it held up by the AN fittings on the inlet side of the pump? Thanks!
Thank you! Nothing but the hoses on It holding it. Seems to be pretty solid so far!
I really like your Davies water pump, but i already bought an electric waterpump that attaches to the front of my engine.
I wonder if the electric pump on motor would have enough power to move water from the front to back
I think it does, I have seen people do it
Getting ready to do a rear mount on my truck for raceweek. If my radiator cap is my highest point, is a surge tank necessary, or will a standard overflow tank suffice?
Long as it is upright or at least tipped mostly up it should work pretty mint
I'm trying to do this in my twin turbo C6 but would like to keep the factory water pump/thermost so my heater still works good as we put about 5k miles a year on it
Oh nice! Watch race status on TH-cam he did one with a factory water pump
John doc also did. And he used a helper pump in the rear I believe
@@OverydeMotorsports Thanks dude, much appreciated!!!!
No problem! Anytime!
Did the fans and shroud come together? I’m about to copy this setup in my f body
Nope the shroud has been around for like 10 years I believe it was a custom one
I’m getting ready to do a rear mount radiador I’m curious what size fitting u used for the radiador, I have seen people run -16 or -20. Thanks
Mine are all -16
@@OverydeMotorsports thank you.
Does the water pump turn on at the same temp as the fans ? Or is it controlled some other way? Thanks
The water pump is on all the time when the car is running then the fans come on at 160
Being in the back of the car can it get enough airflow to keep cool regular street driving without the fans or do you just run both fans high speed constant and let the thermostat control the temps?
No thermostat. The air moving won’t cool it at all, it 100% uses the fans only
That's a sweet set up that didn't seem to cost a whole lot!
Super cheap!
Where does the top hose on the surge tank go? You called it a return line
It returns from the engine
Is there still a radiator cap on the radiator, or did you weld it up?
I welded it up
So no thermostat or orifice washer in the housing ??
What's the GPM rating on the pump ??.... Thanks
35gpm No thermostat. Idk what an orfice washer is lol
@@OverydeMotorsports Moroso offers washers made to go into the tstat housing to regulate the water flow...
@@Robs347YSI oh I see, yeah none of that on this setup
Did you weld the radiator cap shut on the radiator?
Yep cut it off and patched up
So where exactly does that top hose on fill tank go to
It goes all the way to the block where the water exits the motor
@@OverydeMotorsports oh ok. I’m getting ready to do mine and I thought u only needed one line off it to go to radiator just to fill it. I didn’t know the pump was pushing the water into that
I see. Yep on line from bottom of the surge tank to the rad then into the pump and then to the block and then back to the surge tank
So the manifold u got bolts to where waterpump went . What goes to t stat.
Yessir no tsat in it
@@OverydeMotorsports what goes to t stat
What part number’s for fans ?
VA13-AP70/LL-63A
How thick is your rad?
I believe it’s 2in
What radiator is that?
Fluidyne mustang replacement rad
Where do you usually race at
