Red Wolves or Wolves in general would be perfect for rescue operations! Could totally see some angry farmers shooting one in the leg and the rescue station coming in to help them recover (:

Maybe you can make a huge elephant habitat with a big herd, but then a seperate exhibit with two rescued circus elephants witch would need some care before they join the others in the big habitat.
Keep on the good work it already looks beautifull :D

Hey Rudi! I used to extensively work for zoo's and aquariums and can give you some insight as how these facilities really work. As you mentioned, sometime animals cannot be released due to not being able to cope in the wild. Another reason that an animal could not be released is that it could be a danger to the native population!! Captive bred or rescued animals as always get great treatment, and thus their immune systems are more capable of handling diseases that could be presented. This is not the case in the wild, and a captive bred animal that is released can pose a huge threat disease wise to a native population. I don't think many people think of this when they see captive animals in zoo's or aquariums, so it's one more thing to assist you out in telling a story at this sanctuary!

There's a Capybara mod that i think would fit in well. I have heard a few times that since capybaras are so calm and sociable they have been used as therapy animals for other social animals that get stressed when they are on their own.

I'm so happy you're back, Rudi!
Here is an idea I've got for a story:
The Australian Government saved a Southern Cassowary of the 2019 Australian bushfires and healed it, however after some fruitless attempts, they found out it isn't ready for getting back to the wild. So they found out of your rescuing program and gave it to you.

There are two main organisations in the Netherlands that could be of inspiration: Stichting Aap (The Monkey Foundation) started as a shelter for monkeys that were kept as pets (like Capuchin monkeys or chimps), but has grown to accept more animals, like foxes or raccoons.
The other organisation focusses on seal that strand on the beaches in the Netherlands and nutures them back to health to release them back into the wild. So seals could also be a great option!

Great habitat 👍 I love the idea of lore around every habitat and animal. I think a sea turtle hatching beach would fit this project. At this beach the sea turtles safely can lay their eggs and the zookeepers make sure that the babies find their way safely in the ocean. You could use the Galapagos tortoises babies to pretend that they are sea turtles that just hatched.

i have been to many santurys in asia before and almost when ever they have a baer habitat, a bit like a cage but bigger and with low ceilings and so everything is made of chainlink fence and then a small indoor area where the animal keepers could look at them through metal poles
(sorry for my bad english im dansih)
    i love youre videos Rudi.
    keep up the good work.

hey the habitat looks amazing !! as u were asking for ideas, I think that as is a rescue station it would be pretty cool if it had some "wild" areas on the other side of the park that people could hike or make some tours and see some of the local animals in their habitat, this could mean a river with some caimans where the guests could walk on a bridge over it, maybe a boat tour to some of the islands with komodo dragons, idk, I just think that this kind of thing could fit very well in the theme of the park!! anyways, the park is looking pretty cool and I'm really looking forward to the next episode !!

I think it makes sense to have rescue facilities for animals that are heavily trafficked, like chimps, capuchins or orangutans, that are rescued from the illegal pet trade.
Or maybe bears? Rescued from bear farms. Sun Bear would seem most likely. I saw something on TV about a sun Bear sanctuary like that.

To be honest, whenever the Camel Overlord uploads, I always enjoy the videos
Also, was the video of the Nashville Zoo by Zoo Tours? I highly recommend him if it wasn’t :)
At this point I’m editing my comment as I watch the video but I love the idea of having a story with each habitat, kinda gives it some lore and I love lore!

Hey Rudi. Love the new zoo! We have the Monkey Foundation in the Netherlands ( stichting aap) They have saved many chimps and other monkey species. That were in people's homes as pets. Maybe an idea to look at one?

    • @Empress_Lisanne
      @Empress_Lisanne 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

I had the same idea! Maybe so capuchin monkeys? Because people think they are cute and small, they will try to have them as pets.

Used to volunteer in a rescue shelter in Mexico. They specialised in birds and reptiles but they would take in any animals that were seized by the local police. One time they brought in a young tiger which they held until they could find a better home for him. As well as being hand reared he had his canines filed down and claws pulled out so there was no hope of releasing him into the wild

I'd love to see some Rhinos. Maybe it started with a baby rhino saved from poachers that couldn't be realeased into the wild because it is tamed to much. And now there is a rhino-breeding programm :)

Luv the build!! I adore clouded leopards, even though I don not have the pack! I want it for my Birthday, really badly, and this build is so cool and inspiring!
Also, I am annoyed at the jumping too, most jumping animals seem to fly-jump now

You can make a huge aviary/botanic area, for example you can take some inspiration from the Loro Parque in Spain, it is the best zoo of the world ;) and in the zoo you can see more inspiration habitat.
And another idea, you could do a zone in the sea as the Maldivas's hotels, where you stay in the sea in a litttle cabin and put some animals to see from above.

Story for like Asian elephants: Some locals found an Asian elephant, alone in the forest. No mother, no family, and injured. It couldn’t survive without help, so they brought them to this rescue center. This is where they cured the little one, it took 4 years or training so he/she could walk again. They did this with the idea in mind that they could still let the guy go in the wild. And after 4 years of hard work, he was ready to be released. But he didn’t want to go, he ran into the forest, but came back. He didn’t want to go, so they kept trying, but he never left. So they kept him for the breeding programme they heard about, and now, the little one isn’t so little anymore.

Any big cat or the grizzly bear, these are very commonly used in circuses and stuff, and some (pretty rich) people in some states in the US can just buy a young exotic animal like a tiger or lion. They never end up being able to care for it though. You could have a big cat or bear that was surrendered by their owner for trying to escape all the time or something like that. Then at your zoo they can have a nice habitat, perhaps with a few different areas to explore in to acclimate them to the conditions they’d see in the wild and keep them busy :)

I think that you should have empty habitats that “used” to have animals but they were released into the wild. Or a facility that temporarily housed animals before they are moved into proper habitats

  • @SydneyDragon
    @SydneyDragon 3 ปีที่แล้ว

hi Rudi I think it would be cool to have some exhibits or habitats that are only visible to the staff. For example at the Fort Worth zoo in Texas, some species are rescued and aren’t on display since they are more prone to stress. Also some are off of display since they are breeding like horned lizards and texas kangaroo rats. i think that would be a good story for conservation in a sandbox zoo :)

For the 'rush build', maybe a carnivore? Like a wolf (though it may be way to hot for them), or a tiger.

  • @BleachO

You should do a pair of baby Indian Elephants. The back story could be something like they are two sisters that were rescued from the black market or something and they needed your station to take them in until they could find a more permanent home.

  • @chris3871

Actually, what about a rescue chimp facility with a really big naturalistic island enclosure where they can learn survival skills before release to the wild, a smaller fenced enclosure for a bachelor troop made up of unreleasable rescue animals, and a nursery/orphanage for chimps and orangs seized from the pet trade?

  • @oliverwakila

I’m not sureee if this is going to fit the style of this park 👀😄 and also there aren’t such animals in the game but European bisons are really underrated animals and there are critically endangered (around 7k left), which is not a lot 👀
So you could make place (with normal American bison instead lmao) where their population would slowly grow up.
But that’s just my idea 😁👀

I was quite disappointed when I checked out the Clouded Leopard in the game... It's full of bugs, it's a broken mess, the only good part is the appearance-the rest sucks. Frontier did a terrible job again... Frontier is always so disappointing, they should be ashamed of this game
