I've learned that you can be living one moment and gone the next with no build up, no suspenseful music, and no foreshadowing. That's the double edge sword of life. Death is inevitable so we shouldn't fear it. Instead of being in a state of fear of what could have been, use confidence to what can be done while we are all going through this limited journey!

I graduated a year early from college this year honestly because with covid it seemed like no one was communicating anymore and college just wasn't as fun. I also really feared moving back home and that it would make me a failure if I moved home and worked remotely. Now I am absolutely loving it and while I am still trying to figure out where I am going it is really interesting how what you think you want can change in an instant.
Jo, being an auntie is a lifetime job. I have grown nieces and nephews that still run to me when they find themselves in a crisis. At one time, I thought I was Olivia Pope running a crisis management firm! I am childless but I love them and I'm never alone. Happy Holidays!

I learnt that I'm pretty good outside my comfort zone. Training to be a teacher, was shit scared of presenting, or explaining things, or conflicting with a bunch of people at once so decided to become a teacher to test myself and going pretty well so far! I'm just too good.

What you said about relationships and someone telling you that they didn’t want to disappoint you by rushing in etc, and the way that you initially felt about that, is like exactly what happened to me. I was told that by someone too, after we had been intimate mind you (and before too I guess, I pretty much knew). You’re right that it takes some maturity to say, okay I don’t have to throw a mental fit or let someone go because they’re not ready to dedicate themselves to me from the beginning. It does feel like the right partner would be enamoured from the beginning, but you make a good point about growing to accept that we’re not living in a fantasy or a Disney movie. I’ve definitely been realizing that recently. My rose colored bubble on love has definitely been popping and that’s just reality…
I learned that I wouldn’t change my life for anyone else’s and that gives me enough motivation to keep chasing my dreams

Love it! I really loved the tip on a multitasking. I already multitask but it can certainly be optimised. Im a member of Joclub and its one of the best things I've done for myself and my mental health in 2021. I also took Jo's Journaling course! I found it extremely valuable and I am an experienced journaling but that's life! There is always room for learning and improvement! Im looking forward to the retreat in Croatia!

The cliche - life is very short and time goes by too fast but my advice from what I learned is take the hard parts on first so once all that time goes by, you’re in the position you want to be in whether that be financially, educationally, or mentally. Don’t prolong suffering when in the future you can be already past it. Sometimes it’s hard to see your worth but I promise you have so much of it. You can do whatever you want, it just takes dedication and work. With those two, you can always make it far. Don’t forget to have fun and do it responsibly. Life is always what you make of it. Never lose hope that it will get better, the future will show you.
Jo! This video could not have come at a better time. I’ve been struggling with my mental health lately, but you’ve reminded me to look at the bigger picture. I didn’t ask to be here, but I’m gonna have fun while I’m here!

I'm reading A Course in Miracles and everything you're saying about being in the public eye and refraining from judgement because there's so much we don't know has been SPOT ON. It's so easy to point the finger at others because we don't want to examine what's going on in our own hearts. I hope everyone gets a chance to experience the limelight so they can have compassion for the folks they would easily judge in the past.

yes to it's not about the masses, it's about the impact. have appreciated the journaling prompts and there's been weeks i've fallen off but one of the recent prompts around creating a gratitude list was really great and did it with a friend bc we have a weekly journaling call and it was lovely to just take a moment to remember there is a lot of good out there. and yes to languages, i took haitian creole and portuguese classes this year and need to get back to talking more bc i can read and write in portuguese and understand when someone is talking but not talk back lol and then creole has been interesting since it has its roots in french so i'm excited to keep learning. lots of good things learned. a big one for me this year is priotizing rest and that less is not laziness.

I just literally said the same thing to myself five minutes ago. That's amazing. I said why worry about xyz because you know I could be dead in so many years or tomorrow. God forbid. The baggage of thoughts that I carry around are haunting me. But yeah, I have realized that when I go outside to walk and spend time at the park, I feel better.
