Thank you for another instructional video. As you stated, some e-bikes have the wiring integrated. My batteries are also integrated into the frame. The only part of the electrical system that I am concerned about my e-bike is the motor, the lowest part of the e-bike. It is supposed to be water-resistant too, but I would have to find out that it is not.
Ive taken my hime hade ebike. Through hurricanes its fine. You just cant submerge it or seriously drench it. It can get seriously wet and be fine. I have had damage to the pedal sensor though.
I assume you used the stretch and seal to cover the battery where it makes electrical contact with the bike frame part of the battery bracket? This stuff works great for water resistant to the LCD computer monitor as well but I think I like the idea of using the Ziploc plastic bag instead as it can be big enough to sinch off at where the wires feed into the backside of the monitor with a zip or twist tie. 👍🏻👍🏻
@@talkingebikes it puzzles me as to why the manufactures of 90% of e-bikes would make the battery and its components vulnerable to such a hazard... There's other ways to boost the sales of their brand other than to fry the battery just because one had gotten a bit too much water on it!!
No one really knows cause reviewers are afraid to get their ebikes wet. I decided to ride my manual bike to the train station if it's raining buckets, cause after 2 days of searching online noone can give a consistent answer
I'm watching now from Scotland! I have a 6k new ebike can't get out on because of 2 weeks rain at the moment! It's bosch with purion 200 and kiox 500 I'm waiting for the new rain proof display covers coming for it! You might find these for you own displays there's loads now out for various displays and switches that control it that are most likely to fail in rain if not covered
@@thatclover123 no, because the ambient temperature is usually somewhat lower during rain and the plastic doesn't form a complete seal, so there is still airflow.

Wonderful thoughts and ideas for riding in the rain. Thank you.
Hello from the windy, rainy Oregon Coast. Thank you for the great tips, I just ordered my first ebike and I was nervous. Subscribing now.

That may be true. I prefer the old adage "An ounce of prevention is better than a pound of cure".
@@talkingebikes But if you never fuck around how you gana find out?

Yes, the underside where it is most vulnerable.

I don't ride in the rain, ever. I drive my truck when it's raining. Water & ebikes isn't good.
Just ran into rain on my ride today😮😮😮

nice video, does your battery get hot when you ride around with it covered in a bag?
