it takes about one year for passion fruit plant to produce fruits.

Not all varieties are the same, may pops (native to north eastern america) can grow all the way down to zone 5 and produce fruit in a couple months.

I'm in the Philippines which has a tropical climate. For a passion fruit to produce fruit, it would take 8-12 months to produce fruits..

What kind of passion fruit? May-pop passion fruit goes from flowers to fruit In a couple months.
Tender passion fruit, the kind that can’t survive frost, takes years to fruit and ripen from seed or small plant.

Passion fruit need at least a season of growth and won't fruit for 1-2 years for growing seedlings

To my understanding, you only pick the fruits that fall on the ground. You don’t need to pick them bcoz they r not ready if not falling down from the branches on its own.
